  1. I've settled on 3.3gr of VV320 with a 125gr Blue Bullet that chrono's at 873 fps ave and a 109 power factor. Pretty soft. I loaded up 30 or so to see how they feel shooting back to back compared to my 147's and we'll see how they cycle too.
  2. Trying to develop a new load for my Dan Wesson DWX Compact. I have a load for my CZ P01 with a 147g Blue Bullet & 2.8g of VV320 that gives me a 117 pf. Some of the guys shooting CCP like a lighter bullet and since I have some 125's in stock I thought I'd try something new. Any thoughts on the lighter bullets in the shorter barrels vs the 147's?
  3. Has anyone considered a Dan Wesson DWX Compact for CCP? Looks like it would be a heck of a candidate for that class. Lots of Glock 19's there and some Shadow 2 compacts are starting to trickle in. I've been shooting my CZ P01 Omega and it's better than the shooter. Love to have the Bull Armory Tac Pro 4.25 but it won't fit in the box.
  4. I'm having a heck of a time finding an IDPA holster for my DWX compact. Any thoughts? Thanks
  5. I've been using the exact same 147g reload in my Aero Precision custom build with a Taccom 10/16 barrel that I run in my CZ 75 SP01 and they seem to work fine. Except an occasional sticky last round that doesn't want to extract via the charging handle when I need to show empty & clear at the end of a stage. Otherwise I've had no malfunctions in over 2000+ rounds. The Taccom chamber seems to have a pretty tight tolerances as the PCC will not run most of my culls that my CZ barrel will tolerate. I was about to experiment with a shorter OAL but I'm also about to have to order a fresh supply of Blu Bullets. Many PCC guys run 124g flat nose but the recoil is so minimal on my CZ that I'd really hate to change up my 147g loads for that and don't really want to have a special load just for the PCC. What say you?
  6. 2000+ rounds through my Aero Precision PCC build using 147g RN Blue Bullets and my Taccom 10/16 barrel & comp are fine.
  7. I spoke with Taccom today and although they have something for their lightweight barrel, they have nothing for this one with several ports. One of the ranges I shoot at is building high end PCC's with this barrel and I think the price includes some cleaning rods/bits/brushes, etc. Further investigation to come.
  8. Any ideas on how to clean the comp on the Taccom 10/16 barrel. The barrel is only 10" and the rest is the comp so there's a lot to clean. I'm shooting 9mm coated Blue Bullets w/Alliant Sport Pistol so it's not super dirty. YET. But it will need attention eventually. I've heard some talk about some special drill bit & brush routine.
  9. I keep hearing this term. Help a brotha out.
  10. My 147gn RN run fine in my Diamondback DB9R and these are the same I run in my IDPA CZ75. 3.2gn Alliant Sport Pistol, CCI Primers, OAL 1.11-1.12, ave PF 142.
  11. BB was very responsive to my questions about this. The reason for the mold change was their molds were wearing out and their vender for new ones was 1-2 years out. They have had some customers using the RN claiming they needed shorter OAL to cycle (Tangfo) like 1.09 or shorter and there is no load data shorter than that. Since they were going to have to design their own cutter for a new mold they decided to change the profile to help these customers. Using a Dillon seating die with the RN seating stem the nose of the new design doesn't allow the ogive of the bullet to contact the stem and instead contacts at the nose. Here's how I fixed that problem with a Dillon die. The Dillon seating stem has a hole in it. I started drilling that hole out a few 1/1000ths at a time on my drill press and seating a bullet. After sneaking up on it after about 8-10 tries the circular dimple went away at about .196 or 7/32. No need to buy another die. Dillon also said they would update their website pic to reflect the new profile.
  12. I've sent BB an email asking these questions. Also, the old profile RN projectile picture is STILL shown on their sale page as well.
  13. I doubt they are softer. But the new more pointed end goes up into the hole of the die thus the ring.
  14. I just opened a new box of 147gn RN 9mm bullets and noticed a profile change. The new profile is longer & sleeker vs the shorter more rounded projectiles. The new profile is at the top of this pic. I had to change my Dillon seating die which was no biggie. But I started getting a pronounced dented ring in the nose of the finished round. Anybody seen this and does anyone have a solution? Dillon suggested filling the hole on the die with wax which I knew wouldn't work and didn't. I'm not happy either that BB didn't bother to notify customers with these on back order that they changed the profile.
  15. My Diamondback DB9R came with a A2 flash hider and I was looking around for a good comp for it. Coda makes a nice one that actually works but they don't make a 9mm in 5/8x24 thread which is what my barrel is. Any suggestions?
  16. Diamondback DB9R 16" 147gn Blue Bullets 3.2 gn Alliant Sport Pistol CCI Primers 1.12 AOL 142 PF Same as I shoot in my CZ75 SP01 and it's worked ok so far so if I don't have to run a special load for the PCC I won't.
  17. I'm getting used to the Mil Spec trigger in my Diamondback DB9R but I may want something mo betta down the road. Any recommendations?
  18. Of course not. But I don't know there's a loose one unless it locks up my shell plate or falls out in the completed ammo tray.
  19. I've just started experiencing Remington primers falling out of a few of my 9mm reloads. Maybe 1 out of 250-300. No biggie but it's annoying. It is not specific to any one brass manufacturer and the primers all mic the same diameter. I use range brass and here is my theory: One range I collect brass from holds USPSA matches and there are several guys shooting Open guns loading major PF. If you reload that brass a few times at major PF I suspect the pockets can open up thus causing loose pockets. No one shoots open guns at my other range and I've reloaded thousands of rounds with that brass with no problems. What say you?
  20. Has anyone any info on the difference btw shooting the round nose bullets in USPSA/IDPA vs the flat nose bullets? Blue Bullets now has both in 147gn. My CZ will run pretty much anything but I was wondering if there was an advantage of one over the other.
  21. The CZ75 trigger group is not as easy to clean as say a Sig P320 where the entire thing comes out in one piece. But with having to shoot whatever ammo you can find these days my CZ just gets nasty from the powder in box ammo. A friend of mine that has been shooting CZ's in competition for years gave me a tip from a guy that is a well known trigger builder in the benchrest community. He takes the grips off his Shadow, dry brushes and wipes off all the surface crap, then drenches the inside of the frame, trigger group, etc with lighter fluid and just lets all the nasty stuff run out the bottom. Wipes it down, let it dry a bit or blow it out with compressed air and repeat. When it runs clean you're done. Wipe it, let it air dry, lube as you normally would then reassemble. Since the lighter fluid is petroleum based it leaves a minuscule amount of lube in all the nooks & crannies. I've done this a few times and my CZ is as smooth as it ever was. I ran out of lighter fluid once and used Gun Scrubber and it wasn't nearly as smooth. This works for me but what do you think of this process? Can you sub the lighter fluid for odorless mineral spirits?
  22. After spending months trying to get my Walther PPQ Q5 Match SF to run properly (the factory can't fix it either) I was about to join the DA/SA CZ cult and pull the trigger on a new CZ SP01 Shadow Custom for $1300. But I ran across a sweet deal for a SP01 Shadow TARGET Custom 2 tone locally I couldn't resist. Looking at the website other than the adjustable rear sight and an upcharge of $387 I can't figure out the difference. Both seem to have all the same trigger work, custom fitting and spring changes. No mention of a different barrel. Any thoughts?
