    Sevigny Sights for 41

Thanks again! Last question, what holster are you using? It seems like a Blade-Tech for a 34 Gen 4 should work but I don't have one to check it with.

    Sevigny Sights for 41

Thanks guys! Next question, what are you using for a magazine pouch?
  3. Anyone running these sights on a 41? If so what front sight height? I've got one to set up for a customer.
  4. I had a gun built with Hi-power cuts on the slide. To be on the safe side I took pictures and sent them to Amidon. He emailed back that I was good to go. Made a copy of the email and I stow it in my range bag.
  5. Really excited about this match. Got a gun for both days! Thanks for putting this together John!
  6. Does anyone know where I can find scores with percentages from last years match? Thanks, GB
  7. New custom build. Caspian Frame/Slide
  8. You're accomplishing two things at the same time. Moving to your left/reloading the gun. Here's what I do(assuming a decent distance to travel to the next position): drop my hips to bend my knees in preparation to explode out of the position while simultaneously ejecting the mag out of the gun as I'm bring the reload to the gun. As I pause the mag at the gun my lead foot should be off the ground causing my weight to shift in my direction of travel. Take off as I'm inserting the magazine and do whatever I need to do in regards to entering the next position. You're accomplishing the perilous part of the RL while remaining relatively still and also getting a better/more explosive exit out of the position. Once you get the mag to the pause point on your gun it's about impossible to miss the RL. You're also "hiding" the RL time by doing it while you exit. For me, dropping my hips or drop stepping is my trigger to execute a planned RL. Since I mainly shoot SSTK, this happens almost everytime I leave a position. GB
  9. Thinking about seeing it. Heard some good reviews. Didn't realize that Nick Cave wrote it.
  10. I don't even own a revolver and I'm going to shoot it.
  11. Results are posted. http://the-carolinacup.com/results/2012/Results.pdf
  12. I know a couple of guys who got under the number shooting it SHO with their match guns. If I had a Glock 26 I'd do it just for kicks.
  13. Outstanding match with some great weather on Sat at least. I had a ball shooting on the mini-squad(#25). I thought the staff were very professional and the stages were challenging to say the least. Congrats to the winners!
  14. You can wander around in the dark looking for acorns but a good teacher can give you a flashlight.
  15. Just a great match! Karyn and I were talking about which stage was our favorite and I couldn't make my mind up at all. Great staff that was very professional as always. Even the rain didn't turn out to be a problem. Thanks to Jack, Linda and the rest of the staff!
  16. From the other side of the counter: Customer "What's the farthest you've ever fired your AR?" Me "550 yards." Customer "How you get it to do that?" Me "Aimed it and pulled the trigger."
  17. Great to have you! I'm in High Point NC. Go to ncsection.org for all the matches in the area.
  18. One thing I've noticed top shooters doing(and that I've incorporated into my prep) is that they use the entire walkthrough period. After most of the squad is saying "I've got this" they are walking the stage again and again. I try to add additional detail everytime I walk the stage.
  19. Jack, can we bring our Toys for Tots donation Sat morning? I'm signed up for the IPSC match but I love a good drawing! Thanks, GB
  20. I've been an SO at approx. 20 sanctioned IDPA matches. I honestly don't recall ever seeing anyone get any kind of break. If anything, you've got an entire squad of SOs watching you shoot. It does affect your performance, in a negative way. I'm an Area Coordinator now so I rarely work a match as an SO. I often SO the SOs though. That way they can concentrate on their match just like a paying shooter. I recently shot a sanctioned match in my area with the SOs. That was the only day I could shoot it due to work. I went first on every stage. This another thing to add to the litany of excuses shooters pack into their range bag to excuse a poor performance. Between this, round dumping, "this is a new gun", "I don't have time to practice", "the clouds were in my eyes" you wonder why some people bother at all. I put this allegation in the same class as bigfoot sightings and ceramic Glocks. I'll believe it when I see it. I applaud MDs who don't shoot their own match as I believe they are putting their customers first. Dont' have a problem with those who do shoot either. Respectfully, Gary Byerly
