  1. Finally figure it out, due to the arthritis in my thumbs I wasn’t pussing down hard enough, small pair of pliers soon fixed that problem
  2. I’ve just purchased a single stack rig from RHT, it looks great but the mag holders, DAA single stack mags come with a bullet forward configuration. I would like them in the bullet out configuration but for the life of me I can’t remove the spacer as shown in the instructions. In the DAA video it looks dead easy but I can’t make it move! Probably finger trouble with me so if you can offer any help I would be grateful Thanks Barry
  3. Makes sense to me. I have read the rule book and I’m fairly competent with gun safety and if I digress on the rules at a shoot I deserve to be dq. I have a really nice daypack which should serve me well. If not I’ll buy a duffle type. Here in California the fun carrying case need to have some kind of lock on it, even a soft duffle unless the gun in question is on my CCW which I don’t plan it to be. I don’t make the rules, just follow them I’ve received tons of good suggestions following my OP, so many thanks again Trooper Barry who dares wins
  4. Thanks for the heads up, my TRP does not have a rail so I assume it’s SS legal. And thanks for all the other replies, all have been noted. I am making a list of the essentials. Barry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. I’ll ( hopefully) be shooting my first USPSA club shoot sometime in the near future and I would like some advice as what to take in a range bag, in fact what range bag would you recommend etc. I’ll be shooting SS with my Springfield TRP which of course is 45 ACP. I reload all my own cartridges so I can take as many as are recommended. I live in Redding California where the weather is very hot during the summer months so plenty of cool liquid is in order as well as sunscreen I would very much appreciate your recommendations no matter how trivial they may seem. my rig , which should be arriving tomorrow, is a RHT holster and hanger, a DAA belt along with six DAA mag holders. Thanks Barry opps, I think I’ve posted this in the incorrect forum, I think I should have posted in the equipment section, so maybe the moderator could move it if necessary.
  6. Be yet to shoot my first club match hopefully it will not be before to long! my question is, should I take my own timer for a match. I assume the RO will use his, so at the moment I see the only use for my own timer is for practice, am I correct? Barry
  7. I choose the RHT holster because it’s a double layer of kydex ( and I could get a Betsy Ross print on it), the DAA mag holders because they are narrow so they can be spaced closure together, not having to reach around my hip so far. The belt? I’m sure most of the two piece belts are very similar. My only issues are the price and long delivery times, do they only make one a day? Baz Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  9. I’ve bitten the bullet so to speak and ordered a RHT holster and hanger a DAA belt and DAA single stack mag holders. I’m a little old so I don’t expect to be winning to many matches, but I can sure try. Barry
  10. Could you give me a idea what it is you don’t like about the RHT or the DAA. thanks Barry
  11. Would you buy the same holster again? What mount are you using? I have looked at the RHT package, it’s expensive, but what isn’t these days, also after ordering a package of $360 they want to charge $25 for priority shipping even though there’s a 30days wait! They could at least include the shipping ! Thanks barry
  12. I am wanting to shoot some SS uspsa events, once the covid allows us to. Mainly at my local club which has two matches a month and perhaps some others. I have a pretty nice 1911 which I love to shoot but I don’t have a competition holster etc and I’m looking for recommendations on what to buy. I’ve been researching and I’m liking the DAA system, but I’m not fixed in my views. thanks Barry
  13. I have a Springfield TRP. It’s certainly match grade, the trigger is just about perfect. I’m not the best shooter in the world but it’s accurate! but, I not only reload- but cast my own bullets, which makes my ammo costs very low indeed. Not much else to do during the lockdown
  14. Have you tried greasing the underside of the station one locator and the plastic cams? The underside of the slide needs plenty of grease according to Dillon.
