What rim fire pistol to start a 10year old on
Hockeycor22 replied to Marc92040's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
Try out the ruger sr22. Semi auto 22 caliber handgun that is on the smaller side. Plus it’s something like $300 -
Division for the budget minded shooter?
Hockeycor22 replied to Stafford's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
If cost is a factor then consider ammo. Production and carry optics are both minor only (9mm). This will be your cheapest ammo to buy and also arguable least exspensove divisions to what you mentioned. At lest this way your on the same playing field as everyone else. Limited minor is almost impossible to be competitive in. Open and cheap don’t belong in the same sentence. Run with that you have and go from there -
During unload and show clear.....
Hockeycor22 replied to happygunner77's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
If I didn’t see where my round went on the ground I’m not risking grabbing someone else’s ammo and running it through my gun. Could be a squib load, could be a double charged load. I’m not risking a $5,000 gun over a $.10-$.15 round. I’ll grab one or two live rounds and toss them in the dud box to be disposed of properly -
This division exists and is called IDPA. IDPA is geared to carrying concealed and arguable more real life scenarios where uspsa is a sport where cover, BUG divisions and shooting behind barricades is no included

If you are reloading that many calibers you might want to look at the 650/750 (same machine just different primer mehinism) I have heard most people who have the 1050 get it calibrated for one caliber and leave it so no adjustments are needed. i run a 650 with a few different calibers .i just load a few thousand then switch and it’s not too bad.

They are fantastic. shoot multiple divisions cost effective Reliable great company to deal with and they stand by there product

When you take the screws out. You can feel that they are locked in there and it’s a noticeable pop for them to loose when removing the screws just like in other guns when the blue locktight lets go
-
I can stand by there comment. I have changed over a few times from 9minor, 40 to 9 open and the screws stay put with no lock tight. I have a torque wrench that I use and torque everything to 25 lbs and nothing had come loose in 5k rounds
-
1-3 port Comp with no popel holes. You will loose too much gas through the popel holes to make the Comp work in minor PF.

I use one on limited and open. Granted it’s a Honcho so it’s the same gun more or less. I use it as a point of reference so I can grip the gun the exact same way every time. Most people will use the nitro fin in there limited gun as they don’t have holes tapped in the frame for a thumb rest/optic mount. So the nitro fin is what they get

I know this has been beat to death, BUT Which Optic?
Hockeycor22 replied to actionshooter's topic in Open Pistols
Size and less bulk? The smaller red dots sit much lower to the barrel then the original cmore vertical mount and are much smaller. I know a lot of people use the horizontal mount to get the dot much lower to the barrel. I have seen people completely miss close head shots for the height over barrel and how they zeroed it. That’s just my two cents anyways -
Best Dillon press upgrades?
Hockeycor22 replied to DIYguy's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
On the 650. If your loading 9major or a round with a high powder charge I would recommend the pins called “spill stop” from reloading innovations. It basically spins the case into place instead of the sudden stop and having spilled powder.......and I understand that is mainly my error on not being consistent on the handle. Also thw loght kit from inline fabrication is fantastic -
Anyone else waiting for the Honcho?
Hockeycor22 replied to Coastalshooter's topic in 1911-style Pistols
That is the exact video. I would send them an email asking for exactly the trigger and color you want and I am sure they will reach out to you when they are available. I think shooters connection and speed shooters might have them as well. -
Mr Bullet Feeder Stand on 650
Hockeycor22 replied to gerritm's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
That looks great. Did this take away all vibration and movement from the casefeeder? And are you running this setup on a 650 or 1050 on the right hand side? -
Which seating die for TC Blue Bullets in 650?
Hockeycor22 replied to Slalom45's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
It was definitely the easiest seating die to set up. Put the shell plate all the way up, screw in die until til it touches and then tighten nut. Then run a test load to see your height. And then adjust the non accordingly with the set thousands increments. Took me three bullets and I was at exactly what I wanted -

I got yea. Feel free to try atlas gun works. That’s where I got mine. They are super nice and may ship out of the country. I know that can get to be a gray area and very difficult with gun parts being sent over seas. I wish you the best of luck my friend. -
Which seating die for TC Blue Bullets in 650?
Hockeycor22 replied to Slalom45's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
If the flat sode of the die dosent work I would suggest getting the Redding seating die. It holds the entire case and has a micrometer on the top to seat the bullet to an exact repeatable depth. No crooked bullets as it holds the case and is the exact same everytime. -
Absolutely. The biggest noticeable difference was the plastic grip to stainless steel grip. The pt grip dosent slip in your hand and the gun feels great with the extra weight. I also went from a rock island sti to a sight block steel grip. So not quite the same but I would say your next purchase will be a custom 2011

Hockeycor22 replied to Coastalshooter's topic in 1911-style Pistols
That is correct. They are shipping them with the short flat x line triggers. You can change the shoe out easily with a different one if you want. Atlas had a really good video of measuring your finger to see what size trigger is best for you. Atlas also has a lot of them in stock as well -
The island barrel has been discontinued on the dvc line as I believe there were cracking issues. I own a dvc island barrel and have had 0 issues. As for a flatter shooting gun, it seems like the sight block is the way to go instead of lighting the slide. Atlas and Phoenix trinity have them and they are both incrediable flat shooting guns
-
The single port Comp is for 3 gun and for steel challenge. The sight block 9 is for limited minor or 3 gun division without optics....not sure the class. I jave the 9 ironsight barrel and I can tell you it recoils like a 22

Start making some ammo now so you don’t have to wait when it shows up, you can go right to the range

Recommend me a new powder-- 9 minor
Hockeycor22 replied to Truckin_Thumper's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
N320 is fantastic in 9 minor and also in 40 major. A little pricy but clean and dosent make the barrel hot. -

Hockeycor22 replied to actionshooter's topic in Open Pistols
No problem. Unfortunelty this is not my photo, I took a screen shot down time ago so I wouldn’t be able to add the big cmore to it.
