Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Please accept my sincere apologizes everyone, for it appears I mistakenly and unknowingly crossed over a line. I never intended to. I meant no disrespect. I don't want to be black balled or bring damage to my name. I'm just seeking reliable answers, to better educate myself. I would like to once again, thank each of you, who responded with excellent information! You have helped greatly! I will now drop this topic, and I'll not post here again.
  2. Thank you to all of you who have responded! Terrific info from each! You have helped me better understand, thank you! Your responses have me re-thinking my questions and now I'm thinking this: 1) Although used to harvest dear, moose, etc, Is it generally recognized that the 30-30 cartridge is considered a 'short range' cartridge? 2) Is there a general census that the 30-30 cartridge, gives effectively 32-20 performance? 3) could simply using a 30-30 casing, and a 86- 115 gr. bullet, and using pistol powder, suffice as the small game (rabbit, and squirrel, and coyote etc.) 'short range cartridge') I'm seeking, and give respectful performance say? Would the bullets need to be resized? 4) Would pistol powder be best to use? would the cartridge or bullet need to be cannelured? 5) If I used a chamber insert to fire 32 pistol or .30 pistol ammo in the 30-30 lever, each round would have to be inserted by hand correct? 6) Seeing how I'm a novice/ beginner re loader, who is actually contemplating reloading just to have this round I'm dreaming of, and one who has no reloading equipment, no bullet molds, no experience, etc. might it be better for me to find some one who reloads 30-30, to load the low power rounds for me? I do have plenty of empty 30-30 casings. I wonder where I would look for such an individual and what it might cost to have say 20 or 30 rounds made? Thank you, I look forward to reading your informative reply.
  3. searching for answers to my questions about .30WCF 'short range cartridge.' ammo. As I understand it, the .30WCF is: .30-6-100 { a 100gr. 30 caliber lead bullet and 6 grains of powder} 1) is .30WCF cartridge, actually the same cartridge dimensions as a 30-30 cartridge, and simply using a 100 gr. bullet and not a 150 gr bullet, and uses less powder than a 30-30 cartridge??.....then perhaps the cartridge length is shortened some? would the cartridge or bullet need to be cannelured? 2) Are .30WCF cartridges available from any ammo manufacture, so I wouldn't have to make some? 3) Or would I have to make my own from a 30-30 cartridge? and is that a possible undertaking? 4) is there another cartridge available other than a 30wcf, to purchase today, for use in a 30-30 rifle, like I'm talking about and designed to use for small game harvesting? 5) Would cowboy action shooters use or have need to make a .30WCF cartridge?
