  1. OK. Swapped grips, still happened. I did notice that I can actually feel the mag release pushing out and hitting my strong hand. Sooooo, I think it's that. I mean, my strong hand blocking the magazine release. I spent some time practicing, being aware of how I grip the gun when I hit the mag release and I think that's it. It did not happen again. Only did 100 or so reps, so I'll find out more, later.
  2. Double post, sorry.
  3. My newish (500-800 rounds) CZ SP01 mag doesn't always drop mags cleanly. I happen to have a spare release spring, so I put it in. Still happens every 3rd or 4th time. The mag drops about a half inch, then stops. Ideas? I just realized, I should check the mag guide inside the grip, will do that when I get home. Anything else, though? TIA.
  4. Hmm. Well, when USAF medical officers are called upon to defend the lives of caregivers and patients, they are issued pistols. And most train with them to achieve proficiency. They take the defense of life seriously and their pistol may be all they have. Trust me, they don't want to operate in a conflict zone without a weapon to protect those in their care and a pistol is usually all they have. Seriously.
  5. Troy is saying that it's not on the list because it doesn't need a separate allowance. A legal variant is on the list (the Shadow 2) and, since variants are legal, it doesn't need to be listed. You asked the wrong question and he gave the correct answer to that question. The OR is legal, as it is a variant of a legal gun. It is unfortunate that he didn't clear up your confusion by simply stating that you could legally use the OR in Production.
  6. I'm a new guy, less than one year in, and I've had to load pouches twice. So, not a massive advantage, but a few seconds when I can get it.
  7. Thanks! I was thinking non-magnetic was better for regular reloads. And, saves me $$. You are high cap, though, right? So, I'd need 2 magnets to get the same capacity.
  8. With the rule change allowing magnets in Production, what are people running? Stoeger's After Dark podcast stated that, in effect, magnets are required, now. But, how to run them? I'm thinking 2 open magnets on the front of the belt for unloaded table starts to slap 2 magazines on. But, should I (down the road) switch to magnetic holders for ALL my magazines? Are the magnet magazine holders quicker to use in general? Thanks!
  9. I just got 2 magnets to play with 'cause who doesn't love magnets? We're all just overgrown kids with cool toys, anyway!
  10. You may not see many Open guys using multiple magnets on their belt 'cause they only need to grab one magazine from a barrel. Production guys may need to grab 3, so having 2 magnets on their belts would make a lot of sense.
  11. I signed up 2/27/21 and there seemed to be plenty of slots; I choose Fri shoot, but Thurs and the two day weekend shoot were all available. See you there!
  12. Dude, you ok? 'Cause you're typing like a stroke victim.

Thanks for the writing! I like reading about how others train and you've given me some good ideas; Basics! I need to stay good at draws and transitions and work to be solid on reloads. I'm dropping the ball on dry fire movement, I know. I need a match to motivate me! I just switched to full time target focus from front sight focus and it feels like cheating!

    New 97BD From IAMMO

Easy to figure out who buys from Gunbroker: people who want stuff NOW, without having to hunt stuff down .
  15. Ok, yes, it's a silly gun. But, so much fun. Anyway, I was having FTF and FTE with me Eagle. Only with one magazine. So, I took a look and that magazine is different than the other 2. It has a steel base, not polymer. That wasn't the problem. No, the problem was that at the base of the magazine, at the back (primer side) is a small notch with a bit of the metal pulled away from the magazine tube. This was set a bit lower than the same spot on the other magazines. By sticking a small flat screwdriver in the notch, I was able to pry up and make the ledge a bit more prominent. After some back and forth to find the sweet spot, problem solved! Ejected, fed, all that. Yes, I know no one competes with a .50 cal Desert Eagle, but they might own one.
  16. "There..Are..Four..Lights" one of the very best Next Gen episodes.
  17. My local stopped selling ammo for matches. We are on the fud end of the scale, so not many reloaders. Matches ground to a halt.
  18. I'm a C shooter, soo close to B, and all the completion has evaporated. I won Production in my last match of the season and it felt blah, as I was one of four.

  20. Whoops!, you are a bit too much of an expert, I think. While you are probably correct that, as the regulation is written, an expert could parse your interpretation; as a rule to follow, though, it's pretty clear that internal safeties must be functional. But, reading for gaming, you may have found a loophole. I doubt that you'll be able to fit through said hole, though.
  21. The weird thing is, the company sells these without the thingy and advertises them as +1 magazines. Much more expensive, though. The cost of the 2 pack of +1s is the same as 6 of these. Just so you know, I'm not affiliated with them and they probably wouldn't want this spread around and may stop selling them, but I made sure to buy what I needed (24) before spreading the news!
  22. Also, you may have to dremel off a bit of material from the outside of where you poked out the thingy to get the magazine to drop free. But, hey, they are Ruger Mark magazines and you should be used to working on them to get them to work!
  23. OK, go on Ebay and look for "Ruger Mk Series (Mark 4 and older) Magazine Bumper Bottom (6 pack)". These are sold as magazine bumpers only. The same company sells +1 magazine bumpers for much more. Buy these instead, remove the small plastic stud from magazine base by poking it out of the round hole , slap 'em on your Ruger magazines. Voila! You now have 11 round magazines with bumper!
