Agree N320 load has been pretty soft. Brass: 9mm range brass. - Wet pin tumbled. - Mostly FC/blazer headstamps. Powder: N320 3.7 grains Bullets: Pd 124 v1 jhp OAL: 1.100" Velocity : - 1,060 fps average across two carbines with 16 inch barrels - TACCOM 5.5 inch barrel, it was 1,010 avg. - 977 fps in Sig X5 P320

A little more info on the ammo would help. Ammo Brand or are these reloads you are buying? What is the OAL (you still have some of the ammo or can go to your source to get or ask for a measurement of the ammo)? Type of Bullet? RN or JHP? Grain? What gun are you using? Magazines brand? Have you tuned them and/or check specs? I am running a 38SC at OAL 1.223-1.228"... Tested 1.234" with no issues. MBX, Atlas, and STI Gen 2 mags minor tuning if any. Bullets I have used and are using Zeros JHP 125 gr and PDv1s/PDv2s JHP 124 gr. All 9mm/.355.

It is all about risk management, these guns are ran hard. A backup serves a purpose to replace the primary...either at a match for multiple type of reasons/failures or during required maintenance / preventive service expected and unexpected. The last being the hardest to predict. Depending on the division you are shooting and the commitment, this could be a very expensive sport not only in equipment but travel to matches. A backup gives a sense of assurance, for some a third gun adds to the assurance of always having a backup. As you have stated, it seems you are willing to accept such a risk, while others are not.

In my experience SD that wide in range will have to do with no enough crimp (0.002") or variations in powder throw (something loose in your set up). Like the fellas have stated... Do a batch sort same brand of brass, separate the bullets by weight and length, measure each powder throw. A video of the press would also help point out possible issues. Have you tried the shielded ambi safeties? I had an Atlas XWF Prototype (Righty). It had the AGW normal ambi thumb safety, I later had Atlas fit it with the wide left/normal right shielded ambi safety. Never had an issue with my large hands.

So I decided to go with the Precision Delta 124 gr v1, since they are closer in shape to the Zero Bullets JHP 125 gr (#136) I am shooting. MTF when I get them.

What I have seen is - 9 Maj 2-3 popple holes (norm 2) - 38SC 3-4 popple holes (norm 4) They help keep the gun flat, but there is additional tuning you might have to do depending on your grip, shooting style, loads (USPSA or steel challenge... - recoil spring 7-8lbs... 8V - mainspring 17-19lbs... 17lbs - magwell aluminum or stainless (Added) "Current available" Honchos don't have popple holes and they shoot fine. Agree with previous comments, see what you can get a hold of to try to help you make the decision that is best for you.

Nope. Running SRP on my PCC, Limited and Open guns with no issues. Note: If you use mag SRP you might see a spike (15-20 fps) in velocity, that you might have to adjust on powder charge.

It all depends, prices and lead times will always be a factor. Open is not cheap as you already know. Recommendations: If you can wait: - EMG - own one, the gun runs/smooth - Rafferty - heard great things - SV IMM - shot one smooth, lightweight - Venom - heard great things If you are trying to get it fast: - Atlas Chaos 2.0 - When they are in stock or see if you can get a Chaos 1.0 - PT Honcho - Based on what I heard they are pretty flat.. You can get multiple barrels 9 Maj, 38SC, 40L, 9 Min Other options mentioned: Brazos, CZ... More affordable options. Matt Cheeley was my choice after some research. My understanding, he is no making Open guns and Limited gun just when in stock. Since the parts side of the business has picked up, he hasn't been building guns as often. Another vote for Hiperfire Eclipse - easy to install, very crisp break and reliable. As performance goes, I have seen improvement on my splits and accuracy.

I tried VV3N38 9.0 gr, 169 PF...gun shot well. Powder: 9.0 gr VV3N38 OAL: 1.225-1.227" Velocity: 1,350 fps PF: 168.750 In the end, I will probably settled with 9.3-9.4 gr to stay at 172PF.
