I know this doesn't directly answer your question.. but S2 factory sights fit on a SP01 Shadow and I think they are pretty good especially if you get them used for cheap off ebay.

They also seem to be on eBay with good feedback/reviews: https://www.ebay.com/usr/reservoarms

Can I just cut (dremel) or grid down the left side safety on a S2 and S1 to make it look like the picture of the cz75 clone below? (ignore the slide safety). I would not modify the right side at all. Why: The safety on a S1 is so huge.. I started with a Glock, so I would prefer a safety delete

Thank you for everyone's feedback. This is where I got the magazines from: https://gunmagwarehouse.com/mec-gar-cz-75b-75-sp-01-85b-9mm-16-round-magazine.html

I recently purchased 3 x 16-Round MecGar magazines for my Shadow2. They've been giving me reloading issues where they'll get hung up about 1/3 of the way in as they catch on the back left side of the mag to the left side of the grip screw hole on the left side. I can force my 3 original magazines from CZ (came with pistol) to get hung up in the same spot if I forcefully insert them at an angle, but they've never it under a normal course of fire at a match. Is this a know issue? Has this happened to anyone before? How can I resolve? SKU: MGCZ7516B

Where can I find one of these flat / thin safeties for SP01 Shadow? I checked all the places that come to my mind quickly: CGW, CZC, Patriot, BenStoeger Can I just get a RAMI safety and have it fitted? https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/645280

How to get a CZ Shadow 2 to make weight in IDPA?
lamelogin replied to francx's topic in IDPA Shooting
I'm interested in using the S2 for USPSA (Production) and IDPA (ESP). So far I have the weight down with an empty mag to 45oz with just part swapping. (guide rod, grips) I don't think I can do the slide lightening as described earlier in the chat because I would then be ineligible for USPSA. My question is specifically around the rear sight. I was going to try and replace that hunk of metal with a piece of plastic from a 3D printer.. Do you think that would do the trick and give me back 1oz? Anyone have any CAD files of the rear sight or better dimensions? reference -
MuayThaiJJ, the SP-01 guiderod I received does not work for me, it's a few mm short and sometimes I'm unable to rack the slide. I'm going to try and cut the SP-01 rod in 1/2 and try that. Seems to go in and I'm able to rack the slide. I'll try it like this for a few days with dry-run practice.

More information: CZCustom: Via email - "..We don't offer a poly rod for the shadow 2.." DoubleTap Sports: Via email - "..we are currently not shipping small parts to USA from CANADA... we have cancelled your order." CGW: Via phone - ".. we don't have plastic.. only metal.." Numrich: I purchased and tried Part Number 625130. This is just a hair short as someone else mentioned. I'm unable to rack the slide with this plastic guide rod. Next Steps: I'll try to purchase these SKUs from CZCustom and try em blindly: 10079, 10112, 31033

Hansb57, thank you for the link. I don't like the side you referenced.. it wants to take my CC information before giving me an estimate on shipping charges. Is this a reputable site? Have you ever used it before?

What plastic guide rods fit into a Shadow 2? Would a SP01 guide rod work? I'd like to feel better about using a S2 in IDPA. My local club is not to strict on the rules, but I'd still like to get close to 43oz as I can. I see references to CGW, but looks like they stopped making this part? reference link

Newb here; Can you help me better understand why a thin slide stop on a Shadow 2 is desirable? I would think a bigger control would be easier to hit under pressure, or do you favor racking the slide with your hand?

horhey232, What is the current weight (oz) of your G17 with those changes?

Greetings, I think this may be my first post? I finished my 1st year with IDPA and USPSA (ie: still a newb). I was interested in updating my white 3dot sights to something of the fiber optic flavor. After lots of using the search button, I see most prefer to use a black rear with a fiber front. I don't think I'm ready for a black rear yet as I still like to line up the 3 dots, so here is my question: can I mute or dull fiber rear sights? maybe with paint or a sharpie? In other words, I still want 3 dots for now, I just want the rear to not stand out as much as the fiber front. Or maybe a better option would be to keep the old non-working glock nightsights in the rear and just buy a fiber optic front post? What make/model fiber front sight would work with a dead Glock Night rear sight? Pistol: G35 Gen4 New Fiber Sight Set: Dawson Fiber front and back (Model: 310-010) New Front Fiber Sight: ??
