  1. Patrick Kelley was a GM (may be a Master now) and is a South Paw. This doesn't apply to you with your injury but many lefties are more well rounded shooters living in a right hand world, their non dominate hand shooting in general is superior to right handed shooters.
  2. Does anybody have any experience with the Diamondback DB9? It looks promising for carry but they are pretty new and I haven't been able to fondle one yet. I know they had some trouble with their first offering a little 380acp but I've heard their pretty quick at solving their problems.
  3. I've got a couple of Glock open guns with KKM barrels they shoot great but KKM isn't very friendly if you have a problem. At least they weren't a few years ago when I stopped dealing with them because they wouldn't stand behind their products.

  6. I knew their was potential danger but continued this practice anyway unaware of the kitten thing, I will stop now.
  7. You might try bowling allies or golf shops, I've found a variety of chalk bags, rosin bags and grip lotions at both. If you want tacky they have rosin spray at sporting good stores for base ball bats, and if you really want to be the King of Cheap wrap elec. tape sticky side out on your grip you can get it the level of adhesion you want by gripping with dusty or powdered hands.
  8. Bolts are sold by the thread size not the wrench size, a 1/2" bolt would hold the rear axle on your truck.
  9. You should be OK I ran Magnums and whatever else I could get my hands on during the great primer famine of 09 without dropping my load, any change should be negligible. If your running some crazy high power factor or you are already showing pressure signs you may want to drop .2 gr. load up some practice ammo and chrono.
  10. I'm real picky about my triggers, I don't like a sluggish reset or mushy break. That being said all my Glock match guns have sub 2 pound triggers and my connector of choice is the cheap Ghost, not the one with the tab or the one with the holes.
  11. Shooters Connection soft case.
  12. Yes you can but you might want to consider a G35 so you can make major.
  13. I would build a G17, but if you want to stay with forty I think I'd build a separate gun so you didn't have to swap parts, especially if you end up with frame mounted optics.
  14. Don't get me started on Forbidden actions and "Classic" targets. I agree with you, but seven pages on what to do with your ammo after a table start WHEW!
  15. I know we have come along way since this game began, some good and some not so good. The original origin of our sport was to supplement and improve the training necessary to survive a gun fight. I think if Jeff, Ray, Bert, Thell and the boys from SWCPL read this thread they would feel much like our founding fathers would about Government today.
  16. Both of my open guns run 100% with both Aftec springs, but a lot of people need to run only one. That should make it easier for the rim to get under the extractor. Be careful with heat on the Aftec they are really hard and need to stay that way. I think the OAL and the Shok Buff are your biggest problems.
  17. I've tried it in my 38SC and it runs just fine but I was told that it can harm your barrel buy flame cutting the rifling where it meets the chamber.
  18. It is Taran's gun it was shown in an article in Front Sight where they were mentioning the popularity of 90 degree mts. and they showed how Taran trimmed the back of the C-More so his thumb wouldn't hit it.
  19. thats fantastic! i know the exact gun you're talking about which makes the story that much sweeter. it was inaccurate and had just enough power to make it worth shooting the bb instead of throwing it. luck was certainly on your side and i think this story takes the cake for me! nice shooting. Yeah what a piece of crap those guns were I'm pretty sure you could buy them out of a magazine for about $12.95 I think the only thing I ever hit with that gun was that poor sparrow.
  20. The best shot I ever made with a handgun was many thousands of rounds ago when I was a kid. A couple of friends of mine and I would go over to this kids house, he had high tension power lines behind his house so we could get up on his back fence and shoot bb guns back there and not get into trouble. One day we were all sitting on the fence and I had one of those old cheap single shot bb pistols, the kind that you cocked by pulling on the back part of what would be a slide on a semi auto then pushing it back forward then the front 3 or 4 inches of the barrel broke open and you put in a bb. Well we were sitting on this fence it was my turn to try and hit something with this precision weapon. I noticed a sparrow sitting on the wire that went to the street light in front of his house. So I announced to my fellow marksmen that we'd be having sparrow that night, I cocked and loaded the gun and aimed it like a mortar holding at about a 50 degree angle above the bird and pulled the trigger. About 6 or 7 seconds later the sparrow fell like a rock, and so did our jaws we looked at each other stunned and in disbelief for a few seconds before simultaneously jumping off the fence and running to the front of the house. And there in the gutter right below the street light with a single bb hole to the head lay my trophy. The range was about 60 yards and hitting the bird was what I was trying to do but those bb pistols were so horribly inaccurate that their was a healthy dose of dumb luck involved, but I was still a legend amongst my com-padres for about a day and a half.
  21. Before I leave the house I have a cup of coffee a banana a protein shake and a piece of wheat toast. I can't eat a big meal while shooting so what I've been doing for years and it works great for me is get a couple of small plastic jars, like spice jars and fill them with bulk trail mix from the store. I usually have one that's hot and salty and one that's fruits and nuts, you can chug as much as you want and you don't have to touch the food so their is no issues with lead contamination. I also take lots of water, sports drinks and cigars.
  22. Any idea when the code expires? You could call and ask. last year it seemed to last a couple of months, long enough for me to spend way too much money.
  23. (If this were my local post office, I would have guessed that some lazy SOB didn't want to pick up and deliver a heavy box so just stuck it in a corner and forgot about it. That's exactly what happened to me last year.) Me to, my bullets had about 6 Post-It's stuck on them warning fellow Postal workers that the box was really heavy.
