  1. I lost about 90lbs before surgery.  Down to 165 now by eating chicken and zero sugar.  No PT yet.  Md says ill start after my sept 26 appt.  I asked about the match.  He said the weight on my hips wouldnt be a big issue but traveling might. 1hr breaks to walk around.  Ive been working on moving my body with my knees not my trunk.  Core excercises are out for now. No situps ets. Ive done some leg stuff, wall sits, rubber band leg strengthening etc.  Previous PT gave me some ideas.  My balance is worse than it was.  Weak muscles i guess.

  2. Had a laminectomy L3 L4 & L5 august 12.  L5 was the worst.  Neurosurgeon said it was severely pinched.  Spent 3 days in recovery.  Post op instructions were to walk walk walk.  My post op aug 17 visit removed the staples and with a gauze patch i can wear my belt.  Doc even gave me the go.

Im squadded in the Oregon State match in Bend,  Sept 19.  Wether or not i can do it remains to be seen.  Too late to withdraw for a refund so i want my shirt...

My walking therapy started at .4 miles.  Today I did 1.5 miles in 38 minutes.  No breaks.

Besides walking what can i do to prepare for the 10 stages in Bend? No. Im not trying for 1st place.  Just there to give everyone else a break while i take 3 min shooting a stage!😗

  3. I load mine the night before.  Somehow im always first in the rotation.  Why they always go with reverse alphabetical last name i'll never know.  But, im ready anyway.  My mag cleaner is a shoestring tied to a microfiber cloth.  I remove my springs after the match and store them seperately.

  4. It was very cold for our last match.  We didnt have alot of RO's show up so i was on a squad with only one.  When he was the shooter he handed me the timer.  I was curious if its ok to run a shooter if you're not certified?  I had fun being the timer stand with only 9 matches to my name.  The RO let me run some more shooters while he kept his hands warm.  Im going to take a class this summer.

  5. My brother bought one.  Total ripoff.  Its a stock glock trigger ($20 from the glock store) and a fancy shoe.  His was non functional from the package and the trigger safety tab was too short to engage the frame.  You could push the edge of the trigger and the gun would fire.  We tried to rma it but no response from cmc.  Total garbage

  6. Setup, tape, reset, and teardown.  All part of the game.  My brother and i were setting up on our first membership day.  Members are required to participate but not disciplined if they dont.  Peer pressure seems to work fine.  Besides it aids in my stage planning!  Range cleanup day is this weekend.  After lunch participants get a free man on man steel match.

  7. "Standby..."

After shooting my first 6 stages at the WNPL I feel like getting pie somewhere.  My friend who is a Grand Master talked me into this new adventure believing i was a good fit.  James walked me through the different divisions landing me in carry optics.  I loaded up some nice light 10mm using a 40cal recipie that chrono'd out at 1090fps with 180gr fmj's.  I had to buy a non ported barrel for my 20c, and some mag pouches but ran "newbie" with a LAG holster and single piece gunbelt.

in the end, i only had three goals..  dont get DQ'd, dont loose, and have fun.  Im hooked.  Finished 58th out of 63.  New holster acquired for the next match.  I need more practice on finding my dot, and counting shots so i dont run dry.

    shooter ready...
