Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Bowen's website says Ruger Double Action. It doesn't specify model, just that older Redhawks have a pinned bushing and newer ones don't. They also sell a tool for the screw in type. I'll know more about it in a couple of weeks after I order one for the Super GP and my Redhawk. Meanwhile: http://parts.bowenclassicarms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=49
  2. Its most likely pinned. My 625-6 .45 Colt was pinned. I don't know that I've ever seen a DX sight on a .45 Colt Smith. Not that they may not have made them but I don't recall ever seeing one. ps: Enjoyed meeting and shooting with you Saturday. Thanks for your patience and advice!
  3. I will have to look into this. I have not really thought about it much as the staging or clunk or whatever doesn't bother me. Of course, my skills aren't developed as highly as yours so I probably couldn't tell if it did. My first inclination is that on the Ruger it has more to do with the internals (trigger/hammer/sear relationship) than the hand. I could be wrong though.
  4. Done. Now there are 3.
  5. I shot on Friday. This was my first major match since 1996 and my 5th match since getting back into this game after a 20 year layoff. I made my goals of not getting DQ'd and not zeroing a stage so I'm happy! The game has changed a lot since I was last in it. (Major PF was 170 and there was only open and limited back then...no separate revolver division.) I am in Corpus Christi so if you ever get down this way let me know...you can handle the Super GP and shoot it. Steve
  6. Mine is a bushing. The gun is basically a super redhawk without the forward frame extension so Bowen parts should be no problem. Mine has plenty of firing pin length so far...it survive the 300+ rounds at Area 4 in the heat and dust without any issue.
