  1. I agree OSX is a generally good platform. Another solution to the windows compatibility problem is to use Parallels, you still have to buy a copy of XP or Vista but you can switch from Mac to windows without rebooting. Also for email on two computers try to see you your ISP or work supports IMAP instead of POP. There are alot of differences between the protocols but the important one is that it keeps track of what you have read/deleted on the server rather than just the client. I find it alot easier to use Mail (mac email client) than a webmail webpage, more interactive and more features.
  2. I think for a production gun XD, glock etc. You have to stay with 1.135 to feed. For a para or STI you can load much longer and still feed. Practically, this means you don't want alot of the suggested loads if you are loading for production. Decreasing the OAL will increase your pressure alot. For me OAL is one of the first things I look at when someone suggests a load. If they don't state it ....
  3. I won't say what he was shooting. I can tell you that Sam broke a guide rod, firing pin and had a bunch of problems chambering rounds. He switched to his revolver for part of the second day in fustration. He sounded like a 70 year old retired cop going on about how wheel guns always work blah blah. He would have been better off with a glock Reliability-wise anyway.
  4. I also took the class. As a newer shooter I was not sure it would be worth the money/rounds. I was wrong. Watching Manny take an A shooter through a drill and cut 50% off the time with no sacrifice to accuracy, and then having the same done to me was one of many highlights. Of course my time was still slower, but having the drills and more importantly the thought process behind the drills gives me plenty to focus on in the future. Manny also has a great ability to "see" what you are doing, seeing if your front sight really settled before the shot or did it settle before you left to the next. Impressive.
  5. you need something like Ohio Carry card
  6. I am a new shooter, but it would seem to me that all classifers are "out of wack" at some level. The question is not, is it out of wack, but is it out of wack enough to make a difference in classification levels, does it make a B shooter a C or an A. If you really wanted to do it right you could look for significant changes in class throughout the day and see if they clustered in the times in question. You probably wouldn't have enough samples to get any true statistical power but you could look for a trend. Voting does no good since everyone who did well votes yes those that did poorly no. It seems like the MD should be figuring out did this deviation rise to the level where aberant classifications will result.
  7. I am a new reloader so with a big grain of salt: R-P is I believe Remington brass I use mixed brass .40 and do qc checks quite often. Before I zero the scale I will often see 3-4 grains listed. I think most .40 brass, primed, is 65-70 grains so this would be within the 5-10% range I would expect. Two morals to the story:1. The brass weight does vary that much 2. weighing the cases without a tare weight (even with the same manuf) is a statistically questionable way to check things, with mixed brass you are just wasting time.
