  1. In my 2011 guns I run 180gr blue bullets @ 1.180” over 4.5gr Titegroup w/assorted brass. I’ve found that Titegroup is temp sensitive. Cold = Higher PF Hot= Lower PF 4.5gr at 68F yielded 180PF average over a 10shot string, while at 92F 4.5gr yielded 172PF. I’d like to try something like E3 or N320 but I have 12# of titegroup which equates to 18,666 rounds plus or minus.
  2. STI Edge was my first 2011, no issues at all. It is now my back up gun to my Bedell custom. Dan built it for me in 2019, runs awesome, looks great. Has everything I need and nothing I don’t.
  3. A few days ago I bought a pair of 12x50 vortex diamondback binos on OpticsPlanet. They were running a 10% off sale so I figured I’d get them for my mother for her birthday next week. Today I stopped into a tiny little gun shop and they had the same pair for the same price. I commented to the gal behind the counter and she said that Vortex sets the same pricing for big box stores as little mom and pop shops regardless of the volume of sales. I didn’t know this was a thing. Too bad I didn’t know this sooner or else I would have given them my money instead.
  4. I don’t shoot my 10mm in competition, though I am using the same bullets (180gr blues) I shoot in my limited 40 for my 10mm. In my limited gun I run the same bullets about 960-980f/s.
  5. I ended up using Longshot & Blue Dot. Below is my load data for those two powders. I'm using 180gr blue bullets, pushing them out of a para elite hunter long slide (6"). The loads I chose to run with were the 7.5gr longshot, VERY soft shooting, accurate, good velocity & low SD. For the Blue Dot I chose 8.6gr. Not as soft as longshot but was definitely manageable, accurate and low SD. With the max charge of 10.7gr bluedot I had a couple instances where it locked the slide back. It was super snappy and was flattening the primers. LONG SHOT DATA: 7.5gr: 1227f/s ES: 30 SD: 9 7.8gr: 1268f/s ES: 29 SD: 10 8.1gr: 1287f/s ES: 17 SD: 8 8.4gr: 1315f/s ES: 47 SD: 12 BLUE DOT DATA 7.5gr: 1075f/s ES: 46 SD: 16 8.1gr: 1143f/s ES: 76 SD: 21 8.6gr: 1195f/s ES: 46 SD: 11 9.1gr: 1236f/s ES: 61 SD: 20 9.6gr: 1295f/s ES: 74 SD: 22 10.2gr: 1339f/s ES: 51 SD: 15 10.7gr: 1383f/s ES: 47 SD: 15
  6. ^^^I was using 180gr blue bullets
  7. I’ve got a 10mm Para Elite Hunter Longslide (6”). I’ve only tested two powder flavors - Longshot and Blue Dot. The two loads I liked the best are below. 7.5gr Longshot - Avg velocity of 1227 with 9 SD. (10 shot string) 8.6gr Bluedot - Avg velocity 1195 with a 11 SD. (10 shot string)
  8. Thanks Slayer. I only loaded like 12rounds. I just started my load development backwards. I’ll work down from there.
  9. Well CRAP! I was looking at the load data on my phone and I started loading for 180GR JHC, NOT 180GR Coated bullets. And from the published load data there's a significant difference in pressure. What has been your experience with coated vs jacketed bullets in terms of velocity? The base load I loaded just now is .1grain over the MAX for coated bullets.
  10. Thanks for all the replies. I just started working on some loads today. I'm using Longshot, since it looks like it gives good velocity with lower pressure. Starting load is 8.5gr at 1.255OAL. MAX published load is 9.5gr so I figure I'll work it up 0.2 grains at a time.
  11. I'm looking at the data on the hogdon site. 800-X gives the lowest pressure at 30k at a max velocity of 1,210ft/sec. I heard it meters like crap, but kinda wanna try it.
  12. S&W Bodyguard 380 Small, light weight, DA trigger Pocket Limited B Sig P365 SAS
  13. Yep...the auction was this past Saturday (1/16). I’ve had good luck in the past buying guns at this auction at reasonable prices but I couldn’t believe how much the primers went for. If anyone’s interested, this is the auctioneer: https://www.branchauctions.com
  14. A friend of mine went to a gun auction in OK, and I told him to bid on some LPPs for me. I was willing to spend up to $90/k, they went for $350/k. I could not freaking believe it.
  15. I've built two AR10s with BSF barrels, an 18" and a 20" they are very light. In addition to being carbon wrapped, my barrels are also fluted. You can save some money by getting a "blem" which are their test fired barrels (this is what I did). Last I recall, you're gonna have to call and ask what they've got for blem barrels. In terms of performance, accuracy is superb.
  16. I carry an extra fiber in my bag just in case I lose one at a match, along with a lighter and leatherman.
  17. I’ve got a para elite hunter 6” in 10mm and love it.
  18. Those are awesome. Personally, I’m a fan of the square trigger guards
  19. I’m looking to build a 1911 and I’m curious if anyone has any experience with the nighthawk frames. I’m looking to build a full size 45. I like the stainless frames and the knurled front strap. Caspian makes a Race ready recon, in stainless with the option of a knurled front strap. I have a Caspian Race Ready 1911 and I really like it, but just curious as to any of y’alls experience with the nighthawk.
  20. Caspian Race Ready Frame - Colt Wilkinson at Bad Dog Customs milled the frame for a higher grip, Tri-topped the slide, fitted a new KKM threaded barrel and sent it out to get Black Nitrided at H&M. He also installed the EGW optic plate. Can is a SilencerCo Octane45. Gun is silly quiet. A lot of fun to shoot and super accurate.
  21. Para Elite Hunter LS 6" in 10mm. Converted to Series 70, sweet shooter.
