  1. sounds like the Bayou 160's win the poll and I have TG powder need to get Starline brass ordered I picked up a 1000 Federal primers today at the gun show to start out going to try some with Winchester primers see if they work ok ( have a pile of them ) Thanks for all the input on loads for this case Ron
  2. mine shoots great I use a 125 rn full plated bullet with 3.8 gr. of red dot powder kind of a light load buy runs great Ron
  3. with any luck I may have mine all up and running in a few weeks maybe you can show up at crossroads next month and show that baby off I still may pick up a 929 but not this year lol Ron
  4. looks like most are the using the 160 gr. Bayou bullets any reason ? more knock down power on steel or just more of a forgiving bullet for the twist rate understanding your gun makes you a better shooter. and at 62 and a new shooter I need all the help I can get Ron

I here you I still shoot bench rest on top of USPSA my wife is very understanding or I would most likely have a dirt blanket on I am really pumped to try this revolver game out the big dog sounds fun parts are starting to come in I can do the work myself gota save where ever I can I retired last February so I use the old line on a fixed income barely making it lmao I will try and stop by crossroads next week see some of the guys and talk to Skip looking forward to shooting this spring Ron

  8. Zac I started shooting uspsa at Ankeny last year in limited class I'm the old fat guy shooting a shadow 2 I have always liked wheel guns and watching Mike C. Shoot just made me want to try it I see Skip is going to shoot one some also hope to see you at the matches this summer Ron

I just started shooting USPSA last year limited class with a CZ Shadow 2 its fun am I any good no am I having fun YES there are two guys shooting revolver at our club I have always enjoyed wheel guns this year I said what the heck I'm going to give it a try picked up a 627 PC to start with will I be a killer good shooter probably not but I will have a really good time along the way YES after a heart spell 2 years ago on my 60th. birthday 4 blockages and 2 stints later I started to see how short life could be just shoot and have fun Ron

  13. i have done some gun work in the past so doing the work isn't a problem watched a few you tube videos and did everything you talked about in your #1 answer Thank you for that info. insight on what pound rebound spring was great info. for me saves me a lot of time and a few bucks I will contact Hearth Co about moon clips next I need to get a good Trigger pull gage again Thanks for all the info.   15. getting started in uspsa revolver class wanting to use 38 short colt in my 627 PC what are some good loads to get me started I will be using Starline brass Ron

  18. just picked up a 627 pc nib but a few years old unfired for 850 I considered a 929 but went with the 627 the gun is the cheep part its all the goodies that go with it that cost Ron

  20. You are correct it is Mike C I started shooting uspsa limited class in Ankeny last year some great guys there and I have shot benchrest at Mill Creek for many years nice place I have my work cut out getting this 627 set up but looking forward to it Ron
  21. going to give the revolver game a try in uspsa just picked up a 627 pc at a great buy so here we go im in hopes to get some help from one of the guys here in Iowa watching Mike shoot that wheel gun got me interested I have always liked wheel guns have a 686 that I enjoy shooting but needed to step it up a little to play the game going to shoot 38 short colt brass seams like that's what most use need to get a holster moon clips and a good moon holder for my belt and im sure I will need some upgrades on the gun Ron

  23. same here in my Shadow 2 11.5 hammer spring and 10 pound recoil spring I tried a 12 and 11 pound 10 worked the best for me I did put the light firing pin spring and longer firing pin thing will eat anything and spit it out
