  1. .402-.403 is as short as I will cut a sear. I’ve gotten excellent results with those lengths and longer.
  2. I can rent out some lug cutters for you. This situation is exactly why I created my PRIMED series of bull barrels. Essentially, an EZ fit barrel with some patent pending features. Lower lugs are precut, and lockup is adjusted through fitting pads on the first upper lug. I’ve fit a few of these barrels in 30 minutes. PRIMED Bull Barrel

  8. They are in the process of being added to our website. Heat treated ambidextrous shields feature a captive hammer pin for the weak side to keep things in place. Due to this, we eliminate the slot on the right hand side of the frame (which usually breaks through) for the arm of a cast ambi to fit into. With a machined safety and captive hammer pin, all parts are as strong as possible. I'll get some exact measurements. BUT, I have made a less "ergo" grip for our carry builds. The hump at the rear and the overall grip is reduced heavily while still maintaining ergo feel. Heat treated stainless steel. The texture in the signature series grip above is similar to tactical micropockets - which was requested on this build.
  9. In case anybody is wondering, we also make aggressive and tactical textures as well. Almost all of our grips are made from heat treated stainless steel.
  10. Thought I would share some pictures of a project built originally for a very special friend. This gun features a full profile bull barrel made entirely in-house, fit using bullseye techniques all the way around. The slide requires copious amounts of work in order to support a full-profile bull barrel, which locks up tighter (but still smooth) and adds more mass. Frame, grip, controls, and barrel are all made in-house. This grip is a signature series that I have been developing for quite some time now. The sides of the grip feature removable panels, and can be replaced for larger or slimmer hands. Currently, I have four sets of replaceable panels in the works with different styles. This set will be one of one, and is DLC coated damascus.
  11. I've seen this numerous times with home builders bringing their frames to my shop. Stone the frame and slide down and don't worry about it.
  12. Kind of hard to tell if its a burr or a crack based on the picture. Glad it wasn't a crack afterall!
  13. I’ve 3D printed numerous 1911 grip panels - they come out great with the right equipment. Also, I’ve printed 2011 grips - those barely hold up at all.
  14. My recommendation is to first stone the rails smooth, both slide and frame, then lap. You only want to stone down high spots causing the galling.
  15. It’s since been chopped for USPSA/IPSC. Lots of other mods done to make weight.
  16. We are working on an atypical USPSA single stack that uses a custom .700 diameter bushing barrel (and yes, it does make weight). One feature requested was the ability to function with 10 rounds for Limited minor. Overall, the ability to load and shoot ten rounds of .40 would allow lots of versatility in which divisions that can be shot. Single stack Major/Minor as well as L10. This does require careful tuning in coordination with Tripp 10 round system mags, which allows a full ten-round magazine to seat.
  17. Grab a custom made EGW angle bore bushing. Measure your slide and barrel, they will make one for you with enough clearance to run well.
