    MPA Grips

Haha, to be honest I had the S3 for about a week and it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, and I don't have super rough hands. I could feel it after a long practice session though.

    MPA Grips

Since that post, MPA has come out with the S3 grip which is definitely cheesegrater material Apparently enough people asked for it. I use the S2 and with some liquid grip its plenty.
  3. Perfect thank you. I used this a ton when I started.
  4. 25 yards. With an open gun at least, every target I've encountered in USPSA has required no poa adjustment to hit an alpha, except for targets within 3 ish yards. I like having to only worry about super close targets, as opposed to that plus also having to adjust for 25yd+.
  5. It's definitely dying, but there are still some crazy Limited shooters at the top of the game duking it out at every major.
  6. I fear the day I get burnt out from all the practice and other time sinks from this sport. Doesn't help that you get enjoyment from doing well, and without putting in all that extra effort sometimes it's hard to keep winning. Try shooting a couple matches with no expectations on performance or placements, just go out there and have fun.
  7. I do it but I've been wondering the same. The problem I think is when you use the same media/tumbler that you clean dirty brass with, which I was doing for a while. Now I only tumble loaded rounds in my small frankford arsenal tumbler, and leave my brass cleaning to the dillon. My lead level this year was like a 22, only a few down from 26 last year. Was not happy about that, so been trying to be extra careful this year.
  8. I run about 10 whenever I chrono. 4-5 feels too small of a pool if you're going for a specific pf.

    MPA Open Ammo

I chronoed a few rounds of black dot through my MPA and it was kinda hot at 175-178pf... not sure what was up with that, maybe my chrono was just being crazy those days. Outdoor dynamics worked with MPA to develop that load so it's going to chrono right around 172pf.
  10. I know you said you weren't getting comp hits, but to be sure you also don't have major carbon buildup in your comp or muzzle right? That's a common issue once youre a certain numbers of rounds in, especially if youre shooting coated or similar bullets.
  11. It's tough to beat the MPA DS9 for value. Custom gun with most parts built in house for around $4500. There are a few other options in that price range but they're mass produced. Some local gunsmiths might have a similar deal as well, but again you'll be buying parts and they'll be fitting them. Nothing really wrong with that though if it works it works.
  12. Everybody swears by the Everglades, if you are starting back up again I would just go that route. I didn't love certain aspects of it but I'm so used to my DAA Alpha X that I don't want to switch at this point. I don't recommend the DAA flex. I returned mine. Doesn't seem finished, and due to its design it doesn't sit as low as the alpha X. Plus paying $50 for an insert is much easier than spending 5-15 minutes reconfiguring your holster every time you want to swap.
  13. I use the R3xl but I have backups. I've sent multiple of them back. Thankfully the warranty is fantastic, and shipping is free. I've had to send a couple RTS2 back as well, and while the company is great the shipping is not free. I love the R3xl, biggest window and the cleanest dot. The RTS2 dot is much bigger/starbursty than the R3xl for the same moa.
  14. Dang thats impressive. I got some grief for using WAC from some previous gunsmiths. I stopped using it but never really bought that that was an issue.
  15. Curious to see what you decided on? The stainless steel grip is well worth the upgrade, and you will definitely notice a difference. But the aluminum grip guns shoot very well already.
