what issue is this that's so important for you?

I care about alot of issues..... but competitive equity, rules stability and member feedback on rule evolution are the biggies, and everything else flows from there.

That's silly. Every board member is elected by the members of his/her area. I don't see how it could get any MORE accountable.  OTOH, electing a business executive is dumb, and we have years of proof of that. There's a reason that pretty much all executives of pretty much all organizations (corporate *and* non-profit) are chosen by an elected board.

For me, one thing that was (and still is, as far as I saw) missing is the ability for those members to recall said board members prior to the expiration of their term.

The only time we have to provide feedback that cannot be ignored is during the election cycle. Director goes rogue on us 6 months in? Guess we'd better wait another 3.5 years.  New issue comes up that the Area members are not a fan of the AD's actions on? Better wait another 3.5 years if they won't accept our feedback.

  2. Gotta admit, I was really impressed. Despite the flaws I do have a deep love for the '84 version, and I lost track of how many times I read the original books, plus the new ones that Brian Herbert & KJA wrote. To see the universe created getting such a faithful treatment is amazing.

Why is that?  Can you not use a dock, or configure the MAC using the two USB C ports for monitors?  Or does it not support 2 monitors period?

Basically the M1 chip can drive 2 displays - internal screen + external, or in the case of the Mac mini 2 externals.

hold out a bit longer. The rumor mill says the new MacBook pros will have a higher end chip and I assume it’ll handle multiple monitors cleanly.

  4. This is specific to recording of phone / video conferencing, not matches.

Federally, and in most states, at least one party to the conversation must be aware of the recording in order for it to be legal.

Some states, including FL and WA, require everyone who is party to the conversation to consent for recording to be permitted. By stating their unwillingness to consent, an audio or video recording of the conversation would be illegal. Things like meeting minutes would still be permitted.

I think the goal here would be to prevent any party to the conversation from leaking audio / video of the meeting given the controversial nature of the proceedings.

  5. So my perspective is based on two things:

    1. My own PDP 4” compact which I use as a carry gun

    2. My training partner switched from G34s to the 4” full size PDP (he likes shorter barrel longer grip with a red dot).

I really love the platform. I was already a PPQ guy and compete with and carry the SFs. I think the PDP is a solid step forward from an already great starting point.

The slide profile change is way easier to manipulate. Grip texture is subjective. I personally find the texture aggressive but the polymer is kinda slick like the SF factory grips... I’m probably gonna modify mine some.

it really sings with the Walther dynamic trigger fyi.

As mentioned the 18 round mags are unobtainable. My buddy got a bunch of Canik mags when the first batch of PDPs came in the moment someone confirmed the mags worked and I haven’t seen them since. We’ve had a serious conversation a few times about whether he gets a second backup gun to have more mags.

  6. The sprinco recoil reduction system is worth a try. I ended up doing ZRTS in all of mine but the sprinco had an interesting feel to it and is far easier to install (15# spring on the ZRTS requires some elbow grease and dexterity).

IMO we need someone to come up with a decent captured guide rod system.

That is not what the rules as currently written support. You also need to read the definition of a “Sight Picture” in the rule book which consists of the sights on a target. I highly doubt there was a target between his gun and the staging table to see through his sight, or up in the air as he is walking to the start position.

If he was finger banging the gun or sight itself then that is clearly a violation.

There is a difference between reading rules and interpreting them as they are written vs coming up with a random thought in how you would like the rules to work then trying to force them into that made up reality.

Charlie I am going off of things being taught in the RO and CRO seminars in addition to the rule book.

I think the real issue here is partially, as you say, the glossary definition of sight picture, but also the definition of target.

NROI is intending the sight picture concept in the rule book to mean you point the gun at something and look through the sights. Target is being interpreted more broadly than scoring or no shoot targets you’re supposed to shoot at.
The glossary definition of target does not explicitly call out this version of target.

Regardless, the real thing in the rule that makes this a DQ is not the sight picture, it’s the turning on of the dot at all. This is a specific example indicated in the rules as being either safety area or COF exclusive.

Wasn’t he under their supervision at that point?

Supervision in that rule is talking about supervision & control of the competitor during the COF.

You may look down the sights / optic of the PCC at the safety area, or after "Make Ready" at the COF, but nowhere else. That includes at the sky, or even the berm where you can uncase it outside of the safety area.

Wondering when some enterprising company or individual with a CNC machine is going to start making brass backstraps and grip panels for plastic guns so equipped... Could add a significant amount of weight to an M&P or other gun with similar, large grip backstraps/panels.

Taylor freelance already does this for Canik and Walther back straps.

So no division for 10rd states?

I get frustrated whenever I hear this myth that we need special divisions for those states. Rule 3.3.1 handles this across all divisions. L10 was started as a place to send the Single Stacks before Single Stack. Production was started for off the shelf guns, not to give 10-round states a division to play with. The capacity was an equalizer across a wide variety of models.

  11. The website can also key off your member # if you set that up in your profile for a given sport. Also, if you changed USPSA membership types (annual to three or five year, or life member, you can set up to search by multiple member #s.

I'm at 101 since 12/2017. Probably a few more than that where I didn't have a member # yet or didn't supply it.

I’m following this and I amazed at your progress. If this ever gets to the “buy the following parts, print the following parts, put it together like this and run this app on your computer” I’m would love to put one together. You got me on the electronic and programming but I can thinker all day long at assembling something. Well done, simply great work.

    Same here. This is awesome.

Tried the easiest solution first, bumped up the PF to 135 and bingo no more extraction issue! AND, I as insurance I installed the spring from Keith White, and now have massaged my load down to 3.2g of N320 and PF of 130...runs like a raped ape!

I also installed the Walther TAC Trigger and the Walther LowPro RMR Optics Adapter Plate under the Trijicon SRO from CHPWS...got to run a few hundred rds thru the gun this morning, super pleased the the trigger. I installed the 'Red' spring, the kit comes with 2, 4lbs and 3lbs. The red one checked in exactly at 44 ozs on the scale. The reset is sick...made me giggle, did a 10rd Bill Drill in 3.18sec! 2 charlies at 10ys, LOL.

So...all is good now, just need to find someone who can help me find 1 grip screw for the Q5 Steel Frame. Arggg. Smallest screw I've seen in a grip, ever!

Save yourself a bunch of hassle. the factory screws strip the heads so fast.

these torx ones should do the trick.

    M3 torx screws
