Also, Bob Marvel and Doug Jones (he is not just about Acc-U-Rails) do fantastic 1911 custom work.

I would go with Infinity.

m1normando replied to RangerTrace's topic in The Gallery
Gadzooks!....that is a stunning Infinity! Examples like this keep fueling the need to build the next one, and that is good thing. I just sent money on my next one and now you have me comtemplaing on the one after that. Congratulations on your super fine Sight Tracker. -
SVI Single Stack vs Wilson Combat Single Stack
m1normando replied to Nemesis Lead's topic in 1911-style Pistols
I have a Wilson Combat Supergrade, CQB Elite, Protector along with several SVI 1911's. The Wilson Combat guns are excellent in all relevant aspects but the SVI guns are on another level. I recently received a 1911 from Brandon and it is incredible to say the least. The next build is now decided with deposit pending and already thinking on another. I plan on doing my part to keep Brandon busy building both single and double stacks. M1Normando -
I would opt for the Trojan, run it a little while, then mod it to suit your needs and budget. Another option would be to find a used Trojan already set up to save some time and money.

Most of mine have run 100 percent 'out of the box' but is that because the builder already put a few hundred rounds through them and which load/bullet was used? I don't remember asking the question and maybe some of the builders on the site will comment on the 'break-in' specifics/procedure they use. That being said I would not be suprised if a custom gun needed additional rounds fired to run 100 percent.

My latest Infinity has the new low base ATZ billet rear sight installed and it is awesome. The top of the base body is nearly flush with the slide top.
-
I also had a 9mm barrel fitted to the last 38 Super gun when it was built. It's almost like getting 2 guns for the price of one, sort of.

There is only one thing wrong with that Limcat............it's not mine. Do you know if that is a Caspian slide and did you specify it along with the Caspian frame?

#14 ISMI recoil spring & #17 ISMI main spring 45 & 40. #10 ISMI recoil spring & #17 ISMI main spring 9mm.

JHP's feed fine in my Tripp magazines without any tweaking, can't say the same for the Wilson's I have used.

I will recommend APW, they can replicate the characteristics of the original chrome if trying to match slide to frame. Fair pricing and turn-around time are also favorable.

Never had a problem with the Infinity BO-MAR cut sight. NOS BO-MAR sights do turn up for sale here and on other sites from month to month. Not sure, Baer might make their own sights and have never had a problem with those.

I had one of the "Linkless' SA 1911's back in the day. It was a great gun once I got the trigger squared away. I would leave it as a 10mm also and look for a 'Linkless' 40. Probably should have hung onto that one.

I had a Marvel Unit 1 and it would run reasonably well with most high velocity ammunition for about 200 rounds, then stumble until cleaned. It did not like standard velocity ammunition. I prefer the Tactial Solutions conversion with similar accuracy and it runs very well.

One of my Infinity 40's, RRA 40's or Baer Premier II 40, all with Tripp mags. All run perfect from new and crazy accurate.

Does anyone have a Team Infinity 6in Limited Gun?
m1normando replied to Nemesis Lead's topic in 1911-style Pistols
I will be submitting the order for my next 40 S&W single stack shortly, just need to finalize a couple options. There is no cure and that is fine by me. M1Normando -
I am impressed with the gunsmithing skills of Doug Jones in Rochester Hills, MI. http://www.acc-u-rail.com/

Might want to consider Infinity as well. You can get either standard length or extended one inch rails option with the extended dust cover. Either way you will have an extremely accurate 6 inch gun using the highest quality materials and superbly fitted components machined in-house. Another point to make about Infinity 6 inch guns is they balance well and 'look right' because the extended dust cover matches up with the slide cut. Also, Brandon is great covering the options. My Infinity 6 inch is not the Team variation but is still extremely accurate using the highest quality materials and superbly fitted components. I have always received superb accuracy with Bar-Sto, Nowlin(also longevity), Briley, Kart and more recently Schuemann and Infinity barrels are outstanding. Proper fitting, is obviously paramount for getting the best out of any barrel.

Thanks again Matt. I will contact you about your service. Regards

Thanks for the reply Matt. Is there a particular process that you can recommend or are they all about the same?

Can anyone recommend a resource for doing frame rail carbonization? I know Tripp used to provide this service but I believe they are no longer offering it. Thanks!
