  1. I don't think they've offered any options > 1,000 in quite awhile...would be nice to get some bulk pricing again, but not holding out for it during the current environment. PS: You're from my old stomping grounds. I was raised on Gianelli's, salt potatoes, and OV Splits way back when, sir.
  2. I think I am at 19 weeks with Bayou now...believe they were fulfilling orders from mid-November last time I checked, and I ordered the first week in December, so will give them a couple more weeks before I pull the plug and seek to be made whole/refund. Maybe I'll give them another look next year when they meet all the pent-up demand...but 5 months is absurd and I can't do business like this.
  3. Lots of "Teamlobudget" postings on the Interwebs from people who claim to be from Kingsport, TN. What a coincidence, as that's where the garage in which the website you posted casts theirs. Small world.
  4. Coated are cheaper; new reloaders were lured in with thoughts of cheaper ammo; ergo, the new kids of the block are buying lots of coated (and every single other bullet they can get their hands on). With a six-month delay on some reloading presses alone (expensive durable good), I am not surprised to find 20 week delays on cheaper, disposable reloading components as the kids scoop them up like there's no tomorrow. As the price of ammo increases to absurd levels and as shelves are cleared out within minutes from the rush of people who lined up around the corners of major retailers in hopes of scoring a box or two upon opening, naturally people are going to gravitate toward reloading...so yes, were I to do a multivariate regression analysis, I would bet 10K SPP that there is a strong correlation between the price of store-bought ammo and the influx of new reloaders and their demand, ceteris paribus. Therefore, I am going to strongly disagree with the assertion that my explanation is...inadequate.
  5. Demand is off the charts; with the spike in prices driving 'cheap' 9mm up over $800/case in some markets, I suspect many have crossed over to reloading their own ammo. Look at the lead times Dillon posted for some of their products. 6 months to get a press in some cases?!? ...and with tens of millions of new gun owners all demanding ammo and surely millions of new reloaders all needing components, well, clearly there was a shock to the market...with no end in sight yet. 6. ...just received an order from RMR yesterday; order was placed on 12/27, if you're in the queue and trying to gauge turnaround (nearly 40% longer than their mansplaning email asserts). [edit] However, at least they're communicating with customers, so there's that...
  7. ...hot off the RMR press: If you want the list of in-stock items, scroll to the bottom. If you want to be informed on what is going on, please read this email carefully! We are getting our butt's kicked! You may have noticed that we took down most of the listings for the in-house products. Don't worry! We are not permanently discontinuing them. We are just trying to give ourselves some time to catch up in production. Basically, you guys were ordering more per day than what we could produce. Also, there is a copper shortage in the US right now that kept us from getting enough strip to fill all of the orders that we had. We've ordered more than enough copper to fill all the orders but the mills are delaying shipment because of the huge increase in demand. Part of why we charge for orders up front is so I can order the copper strip that we will need to fill all the orders. If you have been following the price of copper lately you will see that it has been crazy and steadily increasing every week until now. We are not the kind of company that takes backorders and then cancels them on people because the product went up in price on our end. So, the in-house products that are not on the website anymore are because we needed to conserve the copper that we do have for the products that we have sold the most of. And we were kicking-butt up until a couple weeks ago when our main lead core guy broke his finger and had to get it pinned. That took away one of our bullet machine operators so that he could work on the lead core machines. Then the guy who took over the lead core machines had to take a week off to have a baby! Well, he didn't have the baby, but you get the idea. Anyway, we've been hit with a few setbacks, but we are doing our best to get things moving. Our packaging team is overworked and wearing out but they promise me that they are doing okay and enjoying the overtime. They just wanted me to ask you guys to allow a little more time for the in-stock orders to ship out. We needed to change the in-stock orders from 3-5 weeks out to 6-8 weeks. Will all the orders take that long to ship? Probably not. But will it help if you give us a full 6-8 weeks to fill all the orders? YES! To give you guys an idea on how many bullets we have shipped, so far for 2021 our crew of 5 packagers have shipped out 156 pallets via USPS. With an average of about 100k bullets per pallet thats over 15 million bullets so far this year. That doesn't even include the orders that shipped via freight lines. That's JUST USPS flat rate boxes. I can't tell you how proud of them I am. Everyone has been constantly hitting above their weight and they're all amazing employees. They work so hard that at this point I feel our customers should cry when they open our boxes because the amount of love and dedication that hits them in the face is just so overwhelming. I can truly say we love what we do. We've not had much of a break since this time last year, but somehow we keep going. I think if it wasn't for our customers and how they make us all feel, most people wouldn't have stuck it out this long. All that being said, at some point we were going to break if we didn't slow down. We've got employees that can't grip things well anymore and others taking several trips to the chiropractor. So, in their interest I took some bullets off the website and I extended the shipping times for in-stock orders. We may also have to extend the wait time on the in-house orders to give our guys enough time to get back to work and at full production again, but we will have to see. Anyway, just know that we are doing our best to get orders out as fast as possible so please be patient with us. In-Stock We are slammed! Expect 6-8 weeks for these in-stock orders to actually ship. We hope to get them out much sooner, but the stack of orders is massive and there's only so many of us and so much time in the day. Also, it will help you get your orders quicker if you order separate products separately. This means if you want to order three different products, please place three different orders with each product separately. We have two stacks of shipping labels that we fill. The first is a stack of just single items and it goes fast! The second stack is what we call mixed-orders. Those take longer because we have to stop packaging one item and go searching for the others. At this point we aren't as concerned about saving on shipping as much as saving time for our packagers. Be aware that the in-stock prices are because we have to buy this stuff from other companies and we can't control their pricing. 8. Nice. I'm surprised they had some just sitting there ready for purchase. I'll revise my previous statement to say MOST, not all, as PD makes a good bullet. I do wish they had cases for a discount over the 1K pricing, but I get it...definitely a seller's market. Good call, sir. I bet you helped a number of people out with that post (I have some on the bench waiting for Spring, or I would have grabbed some while the getting is good).
  9. ...but can I stick my WML to my magnetic pouches between stages and then 'make-ready' mount it?
  10. I'm learning the hard way that there's a reason some are able to ship in days, despite unprecedented demand and other operations being backed up 18-26 weeks. I'll leave it at that.
  11. Right. When I got in, most were "sold out", so I assumed the order I placed was for either 1.) in-stock supply 2.) in a queue where turnaround isn't measured in years. If I had known some are still waiting more than 180 days AND they continue to pile on orders, ergo... I did receive a small sample of BBIs today...quick shipping. Hard to tell if the bare lead spots are from the poor packing with the bullets smacking each other during their journey or if their coating is weak...quick shipping nonetheless. I like MGs model—they accept orders when product is in stock and ship your order days within placing. If no bullets to deliver, they don't take your money. With stuff selling out in minutes, they can pull that off. One doesn't need to accept 7 months worth of orders to continue operating at full capacity with the order pipeline full. Just finished a run w/ 30K 147gr CMJs? List them and they are gone in 2.3 minutes.
  12. I definitely made a mental note of that, sir...and now don't expect mine any time soon. I was evaluating them as a Plan C bullet, but not if that's how they roll...absolutely absurd, astronomical demand notwithstanding. 2-3 months? Sure, I get it. More than half a year after accepting payment? Pound sand.
  13. Thanks again. I was about to ask about the hanger options, but reread your post about getting the "Safariland Holster Mount Option." I wasn't sure about this one. It looks like the Y-plate came with the standard option, too....thought perhaps this option merely changed the hole patterning, but I trust you got it all figured out and will just include it (would suck to not have the Y-plate to mount to the RHT/Comp-Tac...or one without the same patterning as the Safariland/Comp-Tac/Tek Lok option RHT offers). I think I'm ready to pull the trigger. 'Standard belt mount' option, 'short spacers', and 'Safariland holster body mount'. I'll skip all the QLS stuff for now, as the only holster change I envision down the road is mounting it directly to the belt, sans Boss hanger (thinking a tek lok type of connector would work) when taking a defensive shooting class where strong-side holsters are required and DOH setups are frowned upon. Thanks again! Extremely helpful!
  14. You don't have a lot of extra wrap-around up-sizing 4"?!? I had myself talked into ordering regular waist size for liner and then up-size the outer belt 2" (found this guidance inside the Safariland catalog). I need to give this some more thought, thanks. Thank you, sir...did look at the "QUBL UNIVERSAL BELT LOOP," but thought the hanger is the way to go for more flexibility. I can't they don't make a QLS receiver with an ELS hole pattern, even if it has to span one extra hole (or just offer 2 vs three holes on the QLS receiver).
  15. Boom. Exactly what I was looking for, thank you, sir!!! I was focused on the QLS fork setup and didn't read the fine print on the standard belt mount past the "This belt plate is cut for a standard 1.5" competition belt." Looking at it again, it does say the space between the screws, however, "will accommodate a 1.75" belt." No issues with only 0.125" of metal surface area on each side of the screw making contact with the belt ((1.75" presumably between the screws - 1.50" notch)/2)? With a 1.5" belt, you get the whole flat part sandwiching the belt. I'd only get 1/8" of contact on each side of the screws...hmmmm. This belt plate is cut for a standard 1.5" competition belt (DAA, CR Speed, Ghost). The spacing between the screws will accommodate a 1.75" belt. That seems to be a common theme. Sage advice. Unless getting one of their DOH/belt loop things, I'll definately put my QLS dreams on hold. Thanks.
  16. You have a 'fourth' on the MGW...just make sure you read the engraved directions and oil it up to protect the fine threads if you go that route.
  17. No disrespect to the good folks at SL, but I put more stock in the knowledgebase here with decades of experience trying every single holster/hanger/connector combination imaginable (and then some creative unimaginable ones, too).
  18. I've spent sooo much time reading the forums and piecing together info from here/elsewhere/Safariland that I want to gouge my eyes out, so thought I would post and ask you guys to help get me squared away. Switching over to ELS setup, so here are my questions: Buy the 030 Liner Belt true to waist size, then add 2" to the outer belt? So if a 34" waist, 34" liner, 36" outer? I was going to get both the same, then read that's a no-go. QLS hole pattern not the same as ELS?!? I was thinking ELS belt would accommodate both, but seems not without some modification...falsely thought you buy fork/ receiver ELS for pouches and accessories and the QLS for holsters and the patterning would all be the same. No-go again, right? My Comp Tac has served me well and would like to use a hanger (BOSS or SD...leaning toward the former) without modifications...thought it was going to be as simple as screwing in a QLS receiver to the belt, a QLS fork on the Boss, the Comp Tac screwed into the hanger, but another no-go. What's the best way to go about mounting aforementioned holster to the belt? (Willing to finally get the RHT I looked at years ago, but the Comp Tac is still good to go). I have no qualms buying new holster and hanger, but with lead times/delays/etc, #1 focus is getting the Comp Tac on the new belt, but like to have it setup for a future RHT/Ares holster upgrade down the road without requiring purchasing more crap to get it connected. (Also need to keep the offset to a minimum...2" of course for CO...and the small spacers Ben sells sound like winners, but still not sure a QLS setup AND offset spacer type of setup will get it done....and with the 1.75" belt, doesn't seem like the standard Boss fits). With the USPSA kit favoring their holster, which doesn't like Glocks with optics, that's out. I am hoping I can buy one (or two) things and get a hanger setup on the ELS belt that can accommodate the Comp Tac AND a future RHT if that's in the cards down the road. While I still grapping with 'to basketweave or not to basketweave' (I'm a fan, but belt and pouches might be too much...please post pics if anyone is running one or the other or even BOTH), I have what I think I need in my cart, but something told me to pause when putting a liner and outer belt of the same size in the cart...so wanted to draw on the collective wisdom on the forums.
  19. They just changed the 'sold out' on their 9mm 147grs on the website to allow orders yesterday; sold out again, but assumed that meant they had some in stock...guess they're just catching up and ensuring they keep the order pipeline full as they struggle to meet demand.
  20. ...have an order in the queue from the beginning of December, so he is running at least 7 weeks behind. Edit: Just checked the site...12-14 weeks backlog now. It's getting crazy out there still.
  21. While I get more outliers from BB than most every other bullet I buy, I still shoot them (147grs)...have had some 6+ grains over advertised weights. I wish they would tighten it up a little. Similar results as others (and would use 125gr when calculating PF, of course):
  22. Bill drills and bore cleaner First order with them, so merely got bags of samples for various 9mm...round nose were less problematic, from a "void" perspective, but the coating was definitely crap on all bags. I would have returned if I had ordered cases of them, but will just pee these away out back and move on. Hoping you have better luck with them than I did.
  23. No, sir. Straight from the bag..."sizer chewed them" issues, they said. Also had coating issues on the majority of them (check out the pretty hues and the patchy coating on bottom ones, ignore the ones with no coating). I like to bag on Acme bullets after having three "bad batches" where I could scrape off the coating with my fingernail, but these are a new low.
  24. When BassPro gets them in, they are 1.) cheaper than Xtreme and 2.) Often offer free shipping (and military discounts, too). Since Xtreme pulled down their bulk discounts, one can get them a lot cheaper from BPS when in stock...food for thought. (I think I was paying $46 - discounts - cash-back site discount per 500 box of 147gr RN)
  25. I did, too. Just received mine. Aren't they pretty? ...a couple of them were even round, a bonus.
