Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Initial review posted of SI slide.
  2. Stripped Saurez International slide milled for an RMR on my stock 19.4. Swapped the stock slide parts over, with a KKM barrel I had been using. Added a Holosun 507c and SI sights to co-witness in the lower third of the optic window(green fiber optic front and black rear). I had trouble posting a picture, sorry. First shooting, zeroed the red dot and backed the target out to 10 yards. 8 rounds off hand in a 2" circle, one flyer my fault. The quality of the slide and the sights are impeccable. Really impressive. It it looks like the accuracy will be outstanding. I am breaking it in slowly as recommended. I am very impressed with the quality and value of the SI slide and sights. This review was requested by one of the BEmaniacs.

Hello: Another option is buying a slide with the sight cut you want. I went with a Brownells RMR G17 slide and I am so happy with it I actually bought another one for a spare. It did not cost much more than what people are charging for cutting the slide alone. So with my G17 I slide one slide off and it is now a Production legal pistol. One pistol two division ready in less than 10 seconds. I forgot to add I did have a G34 MOS and prefer the custom slide more. Thanks, Eric"

Eric, I bought a Saurez International slide milled for RMR and want to put a Holosun on it. What screws did you use to mount your Holosun on your Brownell slide?

I bought the Holsun because of reading your posts and some other stuff.

Hello, you will have to check your slide to get the correct screws. Ace Hardware have a pretty good selection of screws and bolts.

  4. "Definitely review it for us when it arrives. DVC" Certainly. Give me about a week.
  5. I just ordered an RMR cut SS slide from Saurez International. $215. Just another option. Haven't received it yet.
  6. I did an XS F8 for our 43x. I like it. bigger dot and post in a wider notch with tritium front and rear and a daylight orange circle around the front tritium. https://www.xssights.com/Content.aspx?PAGE=F8 Night Sights
  7. Hey Igh I that's pretty much what I was trying to say, if my glasses get knocked off it is up close and personal and you won't need any kind of sights. Opportunities for needing a precise distance shot are thankfully pretty rare (I am thinking of a few church shootings, etc), but it would be nice to have a sight that is usable. Agree to agree.
  8. Nice awareness KA and well said. I can see what you are describing as if it was myself shooting.
  9. An optic won't really matter up close, but for those of us with bad eyesight that little red dot will help us take out the active shooter from 30 yards (Lord I hope that never happens). I guess the odds are we won't even need sights if we are ever in need of defending ourselves because it will be very up close and personal. I don't have an opinion on best, but any dot that works would be better than a blurry front sight for me.
  10. Wow Vogel is awesome. I noticed his comment about not shooting faster than your sight picture and it makes me curious when the term "double taps" came back? In the early days of The Forum this term was strictly verbotten. The accepted terminology was "controlled pair. Just a comment.
  11. I was admiring that slide! Perhaps we will run into each other at a match.

Trijicon changing the RMR footprint may be pretty important news to people considering having a slide milled. Just sayin'

Hey Magz, where are you reading this news about Trijicon (not doubting you, I just want to read it too)?
  14. Thanks again. Funny aside, the title of your thread "Vortex Customer Service Blows Me Away" appears in the window tab on the top as "Vortex Customer Service Blows".
  15. That's what I needed to know, thank you. I am kind of surprised by your moa choices, I would have probably gone the opposite (3 moa for CO, 6 moa for steel) but this is only based on what I have read. Will the 3 wash out in bright sunlight?
