    Lok grip texture

What has your experience been with grips in general or Loks if you run them? Im on the fence between bogies and roughnecks, and most locals who have CZs shoot with SSI Scales, but im not a huge fan of them. Lok did state that I could order a few sets and just return what I dont want but imo that seems like a crappy thing to do to them especially if I want something with inlays. I did ask if they had a reject pile they could send me that I would pay for return shipping just to test different textures/thicknesses out but they said they didnt have anything.
  2. Funny you should say that because im thinking of getting it milled after my S2 comes in.
  3. Thanks for the illustration, I keep forgetting I can step out of the shooting area to move, just not shoot.
  4. I very much appreciate the write up. Thats great stuff. Definitely, I fully intended on coming to the match early to get a bit more acquainted with the flow of the stages. Ive never shot a moving target either and there are a few swingers at this match. Going to definitely be interesting. I definitely need to stay slow and deliberate my first few matches, Im just getting excited. Ive been watching videos of new competitor guides, dq/screwup videos of how and why, critique videos etc. For the record, this is what im working with: https://imgur.com/a/BC8zgwV
  5. Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. Im planning on going to my first match this Sunday (if the weather holds) and they just announced their stage plans with pictures. I started looking them over trying to plan out how exactly I want to run the stage, but im finding it to be a much more open ended question than anticipated. Obviously this is part of the fun, but im a bit lost as to where/how to start. So far im trying to narrow down to the fewest number of shooting positions, planning reloads, and trying to figure out angles without breaking the 180. I know safety, following the rules, and go slow is my main focus in my first match however id still like to plan the stage accordingly. Can any of you guys offer some advice or some reading/watching to help me get started?
  6. Trial and error. I bought raw Talon material sheets, cut a rough oversized shape and slowly trimmed it down until it was about what I wanted. Then I attached it to the grip after a thorough cleaning.
  7. Thats some great info there and yeah as much as I want to just order bulk to save on shipping, id rather do a test batch from both Fenix and AA just to check fitment and feel. Ive been shooting Speer Lawman 124 from my P10C and I measured them at 1.156-1.160 over 10 rounds and theyre more long nose FMJs, but im curious how they compare to these other "softer" loads. Ill probably order 100 of 124/147 from both just to compare it with what I have.
  8. Ive thought about it, im just afraid of weakening the frame too much. If you look in the pic above. Its close to where the talon material is which is just a hair forward of that pin. I might try it, not sure yet. Im leaning more towards selling it for a P-07 or something with an optic mount. Im going to wait until my shadow comes in and I have some trigger time on that. Its going to ruin every other trigger for me though haha.
  9. Hi all, im anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Cajun built S2 and was trying to figure out what commercial reloading company's cartridges will fit. The two im most interested in are Fenix and Atlanta Arms. After doing a good bit of reading, Ive basically come up with "it varies" what can work and its heavily dependent on the bullet used. Reaming is possible, but ive heard that its getting harder to find places that will do it, although I assume that CGW might be able to do it while its still at their shop. Can anyone comment on fitment/plunk test of 147gr cartridges from Fenix or Atlanta Arms in a S2?
  10. Ill try to get a pic up later tonight. They mold pretty nicely into the side grip texture. They havent peeled up at all for me yet after ~700 rounds.
  11. The back left edge of the "beaver tail" under the rearmost pin basically rests on the right side of my strong hand (right) first thumb knuckle. After about 200-300 rounds im literally bleeding. The grip texture is fine, in fact I added talons to the sides because they werent aggressive enough.
  12. Not sure if that was directed at me, but I dont own a Glock right now. I have a P10C that is extremely uncomfortable to shoot. Accurate as hell though. Thats where I was going with it. I get switch happy and usually regret not just going with what I wanted in the first place. Started with cameras, now with guns.
  13. Im still a newer shooter, but I dont really have many fundamentals outside of shooting a straight lane. I figured now is as good as any time to buy a CGW Shadow 2, ill just learn on that platform and try not to lust too much over a Czechmate. I did debate over a G34 though. The appeal of being able to shoot Production or CO on one stock platform was VERY appealing, but Glocks just dont get me excited to shoot. Im not in it to win it, this is primarily about fun and getting into a new hobby. Im sure ill get more serious as time goes on though.
  14. Subbing. Tempted on buying a G5 34 for production but im a total noob with Glock mods.

    CZ Trigger

The numbers game always confused me, ive always had a hard time correlating measured pull to what im "feeling" when it comes to triggers. From what I remember, the stock SA on the S2 was nice, but could be just a touch lighter. Either way I want to go the CGW built route just so its tip top out of the box.

    CZ Trigger

Do you remember what the stock pull weights were like?
  17. Do the stock barrels take 147gr? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that you reamed your S2's chamber rowdy. Id love a factory 147gr load that works in a stock S2 barrel.
  18. I suppose it depends on what sport you want to try, and how much your budget is. For my first USPSA matches, I bought an Amorak Tactical Competition holster ($50), Shooters Connection Belt($50), and two double mag carriers from amazon($45 total). Mag Carrier: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D6NDKND/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You could get a cheaper belt, but it would maybe be ~$10 cheaper and might not hold up as well or be as stiff.
  19. Hopefully this is the correct spot to ask this, still learning my way around. This will be my first year casually going to USPSA matches and I just had some general questions on the match itself. When it comes to signing up for matches on Practicscore, is it feasible to wait until 1-2 days before a L1 match to sign up? Im basically watching the weather as I have no intention of shooting in the rain. Also, when the match actually starts, is each stage run multiple times, or is it "one and done"? The action pistol matches I went to over the winter have been run both ways.
  20. Ive been shooting infrequently since Dec 2017 when I bought my first pistol. I went to the range weekly for about 6 months and went through a box of ammo at least once a week. Took most of the Summer off (Didnt know about USPSA/IDPA), got back into it over the Fall & Winter 2018 and here we are. Ran a "tactical pistol" course at my local range, met some great people and immediately deep dived into what I need in order to have a go at USPSA this year. Yeah im not going to be pulling double tap splits in the teens or hitting M in one summer, but the whole goal was to add a totally new dynamic to the boring "shoot your lane" at the range and meet some people with similar interests. Ill probably be a casual USPSA'r and hope to make 1-2 matches a month, might dry fire once a week but im ok with that. Im sure ill meet a few people with a poor attitude, but thats life. My biggest hurdle was getting into a local range, all of the ranges in my area require a member "sponsor" and nobody in my family in this area shoots. I joined an "expensive" range ($600/yr), no sponsor, indoor only. Im really hoping to switch to another local range that seems to be better equipped for the kind of shooting im interested in. (Its also $100/yr...)
  21. Once or twice a month depending on what is going on. Typically an hour or two ~250-300 rounds depending on what im practicing. Its a rather restrictive range, but a very nice facility. Im going to try to join a second range this year with some outdoor areas, but we will see. My main focus this year is trying USPSA (casually), range training gets quite boring after you have a handle on the fundamentals.
  22. FWIW I was reading another post testing the striker springs, their trigger weights and the measured striker "power" at full compression. The HBI 3.5 had ~7% more force than the factory spring at full compression. Might be worth checking out if you want.
  23. What striker spring are you currently using with the HBI trigger? I tested both the 3 and the 3.5, and subjectively I feel like the 3.0 adds a ton of creep into the trigger. Maybe its just me. My CGW guide rod and 15/18# springs should be here tomorrow. Im assuming that the 15# should be ok for factory ammo (no RMR, ~135PF) but I guess ill have to play with it.
