  1. 6 miles of city streets, 7 miles of back roads. At rush hour, its easily an hour drive.
  2. So I shot through some of the Fenix stuff this weekend, left the gun slightly dirty (~300 rounds) and only applied a little extra lube. No misfires/light strikes so thats good. Fenix 124gr feels just a hair lighter than the Lawman 124gr - 100% reliable, cycles 100% Fenix 147gr subjectively feels like near half the recoil of the 124gr - no FTF, but cycles maybe 25% of the time. Usually a misfeed, sometimes a stovepipe. My guess is that I need a lighter recoil spring which I have, I just forgot to take it with me. Hopefully my G5 34 will still lockup with a 13# and a DPP.
  3. 1 overpriced range, working on 2 others to take its place that have action pistol bays and indoor ranges. 1st range - $480/yr Indoor only, 30 lanes, must be draw certified(I am), nothing above a double tap. Online reservations, clean, staffed, gunsmiths/ROs are nice. (I get yelled at for Bill Drills here) - (20 miles, 30-40 min drive) 2nd - $100/yr + 4 hr volunteer once(but you can shoot the match for free) - So many perks, if you ever volunteer to set up a match, your first gun is free. 9 action pistol bays (varying sizes), 7/12/25yd outdoor pistol bays, 12 lane indoor range, 300yd rifle range, 70 target steel pistol range, skeet, trap, and other goodies - (13 miles, 30-45 min drive) 3rd - $100/yr - 10 Action bays, 7/12/25yd outdoor pistol bays, 250yd Rifle, 15 lane indoor pistol range, skeet, trap. - 40 miles (1hr drive)
  4. I shot the 19x and hated it. Grip was nice, but idk it just felt extremely snappy. I was heading towards the 17, but the extra ounce or two from the barrel pointed me to the 34. Also, if I didnt stick with CO, I was going back to prod. I dont think you can go wrong with the 17 or the 34. You might get a split second faster draw with a 17, but Its negligible on most stages. Since you have a production setup already though, I dont really think it matters which length you purchase unless you decide to change your prod setup to go gen 5. Whatever you do, get the FS versions. The 34/17 FS is VERY nice, and has that small cutout by the magwell on the front of the grip filled in.
  5. Took forever, but I finally got to test the Fenix stuff. No chambering issues at all, no plunk test issues. Eats 124gr all day. The 147gr malfunctioned constantly though. Stovepipes and FTF galore. I was running a 15# ISMI with a 4.5# Striker spring, I have a 13# so im going to try that next chance I get.
  6. What are you guys zeroing these dots at? I zeroed mine at ~20yd but at 3-12yd it's poi as expected is about 1.5" down. Do you all just mentally note to aim high with no shoots at close range?
  7. My experience is with the glock store tungsten gen 5 34 guide rod and ismi springs . It might be a hair too light. Cycles fine with factory striker spring and 124gr loads though Did anyone ever try the #13 with an optic and a 147gr minor load? I know that combo doesn't work with a factory striker spring, but my 147gr gamer loads fte/ftl every other round with the 15#, but 124gr loads work 100%. Next step is to try the #13 but I can't make it to the range for 2 weeks.
  8. Just in case it was confusing, ONLY the 147gr didn't function. I've also never shot that load before today. The 124 has always been reliable. My concern with the striker was that it almost looked to me like it hit significantly harder than my cz strikers causing a bulge around the hit.
  9. I finally got a chance to sight in my DPP and test a few other components ive changed since I shot last, The 124gr loads were perfect, but the 147gr loads I tried for the first time had a bunch of failures. TTI GM Spring/connector kit (4.5# Striker spring) GS Tungsten guide rod with the 15# spring TTI +5/6 basepads with +10% spring Lawman 124 and Fenix 124 both shot 100% reliably on a 15lb recoil spring. The Fenix 147 subjectively felt like near 50-75% of the recoil but constantly malfunctioned. (Stovepipes, double feed, mis feed) I did notice that the 147 has much more case bulge on maybe half the casings compared to the always smooth 124. Now I have a 13# recoil spring which is my guess as to what might fix it, but I had left the stupid thing at home. Am I on the right track with that? Lastly, are these primer strikes normal? They look odd compared to my other guns. Pics: https://imgur.com/a/lgxvMvF
  10. Ill have to keep an eye on this with my extensions.

    X5 vs Glock 34

The only conclusion I made from that video is that Yong Lee struggles with reloads on the Glock, but they both shoot really well. I almost picked up an X5 last month over my G5 34, but I didnt want to be locked to Sig optics and my LGS who is a "SIGnificant Exclusive Dealer" said that SIG warranty support has been spotty from the manufacturer on guns and optics alike. They pointed me towards a PPQ Match, I also checked out the SF version, but my fingers are just too long for the PPQ frames. The X5 with the GreyGuns Trigger is pretty nice, but having poor parts availability/warranty support doesnt sit well with me.
  12. No, I read that it was something stupid like .75 of a millimeter longer on the Glock forum. I wanted to pick up a 5# FP spring and a few other little things and was able to snag a Ghost tac extended release on NDZ Performance. Its polymer and only $13. Heard good things about these ones and the button face appears to be a better fit for my grip. Beats $35 for the Glockstore option. I really need to stop buying stuff...
  13. I overlooked that. I thought the entire thing was AL.
  14. Anyone on here with a gen 5 running an extended mag release? Ive been doing some digging and found that almost everyone hates the aluminium mag releases because they tear up mags. That leaves pretty much just the Ghost release. Am I overlooking any other options or does anyone have recommendations?
  15. Yep, going for a slow range session with about 400 rounds to test 124 vs 147 before placing a larger order. Gonna go slow and basically function check it. I figured, but id rather ask. Thank you for the reassurance though!
  16. I mean, its from Fenix, ive heard good things, I just dont really know what a squib feels like and im a bit paranoid with reloaded ammo right now.
  17. So I ordered some remanufactured ammo from a new source and am just doing some basic checks on this test batch such as average weight and average OAL. (I bought 124 and 147gr 130PF loads.) Im running into some weird brass and weight anomalies that ive never dealt with before but I am pretty inexperienced with ammo aside from buying big names. The 124gr is coming out to 11.92g-12.75g per round based on the case. (R-P/Hornandy are light, X-Treme are heavy) I also have some rounds (Aguila) that have solid, noticable lines midway down the case and im not sure if thats just from crimping/stepping or something else. I thought I could check for powderless loads but being that my scales are only in grams, that would be about .25g for a round with no powder charge, and the weight variance between cases is a bit more than that. I may just be more paranoid than I need to be, but im just trying to play it safe.

    MOS Plate torque

It does in fact say had tight, I didnt realize there was a booklet under the mos plates. Still though, hand tight means different things to different people. Im going to guess at 10-15 inch pounds I guess.

    MOS Plate torque

What are you guys torquing your MOS adapter plates to and what thread locker? Best ive found is 15 inch pounds with either 243 or Vibratite from another forum.
  20. I had to mess with the springs on mine too, I called tti and they said to just bend the spring with pliers to make it fit. Common gen 5 issue
  21. My gen 5 won't go into battery with a ismi 13, and kinda works with a 15 on the factory striker spring. With the TTI GM kit, it works perfect with the 15, but The 13 is slow with the vertical test
  22. Anyone else run into this with Gen 5 Glocks? I have a new 34 and bought 3 of these basepads from BSPS. All have a spring that wont seat correctly into the OEM Glock follower.
  23. Thats what im hoping for. I dont reload, so blue bullets or other coated bullets are off the table. Edit: I saved that sheet from the last time you posted it. Its a great way to help explain why you plunk test.
  24. Ill be having my hand at this in the next few days. Should be picking up a gen 5 34 today, ill do some testing with the reloads I have and report back. I might have to hit up MM for a barrel reaming service depending on how this goes. Ill be testing: 124gr TMJ Speer Lawman 124gr FMJ Fenix 130PF Reloads 147gr FMJ Fenix 130PF Reloads
  25. The milling for sights is Production legal, however the milling to make weight is not. A stock Shadow 2 will not make CO weight with just an optic milling. Off hand, CGW's milling for a Carry Optics Shadow is around $500-600 last I heard. Its quite expensive.
