I made the plunge and ordered a 750xl yesterday and a case feeder . I have used a 550 for years but shooting limited now I need to be able to made better use of my time. So anybody who has one can you tell me anything to look out for or helpful tips .

I have a 550 now and I am looking to go to a 750 . My question is I have a counter top with cabinets above it for my loading bench . I am wondering if the case feeder will have room with my set up. If somebody could make a rough measurement from then front of the press to back of the case feeder and let me know I would appreciate the information.

It’s hot in Tennessee now and I shot yesterday but suffered from wet hands . One guy I have shot with said he used pro grip . I am considering using using that but it made a mess of his gun . When I ask how hard it was to clean up he said he didn’t know he didn’t clean his gun very often. So what do you guys use and how does it clean up?

I have been using the same 550’s for years with no trouble . I have one in small primer and one large primers . As long as I blow them off once in a while they run great . I started shooting limited this year and was looking at adding a case feeder to my small primer 550 for my 40 because my need has increased . I don’t want to spend the money and buy a 650 and a case feeder for 1000 when I can spend 400 and keep loading . So anybody with a case feeder on a 550 let me n ow how you like it.

I ask the same question not long ago . I settled on a 12 lb spring Get an 11, 12, and 13 and try each one and see what feels best for you .

I bought a large lot of brass and it had a fair amount of nickel brass in it. Do you guys reload nickel cases?

What kind of shoes do you wear and do you think it matters very much ?

I had some cast bullets left from years past and I have been loading them and shot them at the local match last weekend. I had about 3000 on the shelf so I will run out in a month and or two. How do the coated bullets shoot compared to the lubed hard lead that I am used to. I will chryno them to make sure I get power factor of course .

So I got a 12 and a 11 Wolff . I tested them both and they were right on. Tried both and went with the 11 variable . I Shot it in a match Saturday and it ran great . I went with the 11 because I am using reloads and they make major power but just at 170ish . That’s for the help

So I was modifying my DAA mag pouches to bullets out . I dropped one of the screws that fastens it to the belt strap . For the life of me I can't find it . Does any body know what size it is/thread pitch . I think I am going to buy a box of them if I can figure it out.

Thats what scares me . I have shot 1911s for years and never had an issue with the grip safety. Maybe because that’s what I carry and I am just really comfortable with them . I may take it out just for safety’s sake .

Ok so I bought a used STI .40 Tactical for limited. It’s a nice gun . I tore it down to change springs and give it a good cleaning and oil change . It has a pinned grip safety. I have been shooting and it runs great and I understand the safety is pinned for compitention . My question is this pretty normal and how much does it actually help?

I had a a similar problem when I started shooting match grade barrels years ago . I put a roller handle on my 550 this weekend. Got it all tight and started loading . About every 100 rounds the handle works loose at the nut. I thought about drilling and pinning it but I thought I would see if anybody had any suggestions.

I have a couple of questions . I have a used 2011 .40 tactical I am going to shoot in limited major power factor . My bullets are running about a 170 . First question What spring do you guys suggest ? I don’t want it to heavy but I don’t want to beat the slide to death eaither . Sexond question How often do you replace them usually ? Thanks

There recommendationss don’t make major with the Dillon calculator. The 200 gr 40 S&w with 3.8 grains of titegroup ( there max load ) is a 164 . It is a starting point though Get out a chron and check your loads good luck
