yes I use walnut first . Thank’s for the polish idea I will try that . I like tinkering with stuff like that . . I just can’t get past the idea of washing my brass and what if I don’t get it dry . Lol plus I like my set up. I fill my tumblers and set my timer and they run when I am at work. After a couple days I have plenty of clean brass to load for a while .

I like my corncob when it comes to cleaning cases . Have not wanted to get into wet tumbling basically because what I have works and I don’t see spending money I don’t have to. Does anybody have a good homemade polish to add to your corncob. I have been using franklin arsenal but it’s kinda expensive these days . I like to add the polish once in a while to keep the dust down.

Case feeder sending cases the wrong end up

I thought I was one of the few who tumbled finished rounds . I have heard so many people debate how dangerous it’s supposed to be but I have done it for years. -
Case feeder sending cases the wrong end up

what’s up with the switches that looks high tech . -
I have totally crushed a sideways primer shoving it into a case and never set one off. I have been reloading for over 20 years on 550s and never had a problem with one bullet dropping and setting another off or primers getting set off. If you can drop a whole tube of 100 in a press at one time I don’t see how a machine mounted on top of the tube dropping one at a time is going to set them off.

Case feeder sending cases the wrong end up

I didn’t know you could use the small plate. When you order a plate the large says it is for 45/40 . I will have to try the small one . -
Case feeder sending cases the wrong end up

It’s the large plate and I am loading 40 cal. The speed is about middle of the way . It’s mounted on the post that came with the press. How many cases can I put in it at one time? I loaded 500 and had to add oases twice because I cannot see into the hopper so I was not sure how many to add at one time . I will try slowing it down and see if that helps . -
I went to TSC and got a variety spring pack . There were a couple that fit right over the pin that the guide was on . Installed the spring behind the guide and then reinstalled the the guide and clip. Won’t ever happen again .

It drops less than 12 inches . I think that it would take a pointed round that would strike with enough force to ignite a round as a firing pin and we have all seen lite strikes on primers If you shoot much that didn’t set one off. These are round nose pistol bullets so I am not real worried about it but thank you for the advice . If somebody else does it they can take that into consideration.

Made a few simple upgrades . Round counter , locater pins, lights , Quick release on the powder sensor.

I got the 750 all set up everything adjusted finally . Filled the case feeder and added a tube of primers and started pulling the handle . The primer slide would not return because this guide kept hanging up and not letting the primer slide go forward .I had to keep bending the rod out until it kept the rod guide out far enough to clear .

I am not sure why my pictures are sideways but that’s the idea anayway

I don’t understand why when you buy a progressive press from Dillon that’s supposed to crank out lots of ammo you get a really small ammo tray . So for about 20 bucks I fixed that problem . Got a 4 in to 2 inch pvc coupler a piece of 2 inch pipe 2 hooks 1 bucket ( 3 gallon ) I

Powder measure Quick Disconnect
Bmans45 replied to Bmans45's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment

Powder measure Quick Disconnect
Bmans45 replied to Bmans45's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
That’s what I have been doing but on the 750 the Andre of the powder measure is different and if you don’t have the charge bar all the way forward it won’t clear the primer tube . I have read that some people leave powder in there powder measure all the time but I hate to do that . -
Has anybody tried the powder measure quick disconnect ? I thought it would be ra handy if you wanted to try different powders or empty your powder measure after each session.

Powder bar accuracy upgrade tricks?
Bmans45 replied to DIYguy's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
The medium hopper looks good. Holds 30% more . -
Mine came in . Got it mounted to the bench and the dies moved into the tool head from the 550 . I have been adjusting powder messer and seating dies etc and have not gotten to actually start loading yet but hopefully will soon .

I saw all the mods that they had to do to the 650 I was hoping the 750 would be a better press. The 550 has always been bullet proof

Let see some round counter ideas you guys have come up with. I am looking for ideas that I can adapt to the 750 xl
