  1. The gun looks good ,and if you get one that shoots it should be fine , there is one at our club the barrel was short chambered ,had to have a new barrel. I bought my MBX barrel from shooters , Barrel would not hold a group . Shooters says it’s a manufacturer issue sent it in , they said nothing wrong with the barrel . I asked for a refund they refused and Shooters also refused . Got barrel back it shoots better then it did when I sent it in but not like a JP . They say did nothing , 6 inch groups are now 3 inch groups. They shot from a bench with a scope , we shot with a scope, still can’t get the groups they got . My point is they seem to be ammo sensitive. It might be that we have not found the ammo the barrel likes but there customer service is not up to my expectations. I was attempting to lighten up my gun a little. Shooters says if you install it fire it or alter it can’t be returned, so if you buy one and there’s a problem you are on your own . If you decide to get one I would get the midweight barrel my son has one and it shoots fine. On there web site they show the midweight as the competition barrel . That’s in the 14.5 pinned and welded .
  2. I am ordering a Smoke Composites 12 inch for my PCC.
  3. My son is shooting there, bolt ,his AR gold didn’t make 1k before it broke, he has a super fast trigger finger. He likes the short reset on th JP . I run the JPs on both of my guns PCC and dedicated 22 , flawless. The EZ trigger .
  4. That’s the point the Ruger. Is priced right but will never compete with the AR platform , if all you want to do is shoot it will be fine, or if you want to have inexpensive gun. For some one to start with it will be fine if you want to be competitive it won’t . When you first start shooting the weight of the gun doesn’t mean as much ,then you plato, and look for things to make you faster , IE weight ,better trigger, better optic.
  5. Ar gold trigger didn’t last long for my son, recommend hiperfire or JP , Barrel CK arms or JP . I believe MBX no longer offers the midweight and the lightweight is unproven , they don’t list it as a competion Barrel on there site like the midweight, which is a proven Barrel . There are some guys in our club running the lead star bolt with success. Good luck
  6. That’s correct parts that are made to work together equal reliability, and a company that stand behind there parts is what you get with JP others not so much. There are many different gun makers , but none better then JP they are the( benchmark) there parts cost more but I would rather pay a little more for the dependability. When I step up to shoot I only think of what I am shooting not will it run, or did having a barrel. That’s not very accurate cause the miss . Good luck with your build. I recently bought a barrel from another manufacturer, the groups are not good the company says nothing wrong the dealer says manufacturer issues. I lose #1 never buy from a company that won’t list there phone number #2 never buy from company that doesn’t stand behind there parts or guns. ( JP says if your not happy I am not happy ) Coda 100 % guaranteed Smoke composites money back guarantee. Pay a little more and get dependable components and enjoy your match not why won’t my gun run . That’s my motto
  7. We have at least 3 ruger. PCC at our club , no one hassles them at all. They all run good no problems . None of them are able to overcome the disadvantages of the platform, and really be competitive. If your looking for a low cost gun. To compete with it’s great, I just don’t know many shooters who don’t want to improve and it’s difficult to do with the Ruger .
  8. JP Barrel , JP ez trigger and buffer , JP bolt , that’s reliability.
  9. There’s no way you will be competitive with the ruger. The weight the platform the buffer system , changing hands. It runs good but would be better off with a lower cost AR build, start with a good barrel. And trigger. Bolt group you can take those components and up grade to better receivers. There are guys in our club that shoot them ok in steel Challenge but will never make it in USPSA .
  10. Thx for the update MO, it’s good information.
  11. For smaller mags we have had great results out of ETS 31 and also the 22 round
  12. Oh yea if you have a choice I prefer the rapid configuration hand guard , it’s knurled feels great in my hands. No slip very well built.
  13. Its ready to rock , right out of the box, I like the Taylor free lance mags getting ready to order the new Goliath basepad, also the enhanced silent capture spring and the extended mag release . Mine is a tack driver . Thousands of rounds not one gun hiccup, ammo yes but not ever on the gun.
  14. It’s a really good way to get comfortable with the gun and learn how to clear misfires ,load mags and become familiar with how the gun functions . Also learn how to shoot fast , and accurate.
  15. Looked at several the 510c is hard to beat, size , glass clarity, weight and cost make it a winner for me !
  16. She also might like steel Challenge it a lot of fun .
  17. How do you test your Ammo different loads 5 shot groups , at 25 yds ?
  18. We found the hollow point freedom munitions to be be extremely accurate in 124 and 135 .
  19. We like the 135 also but are running the blue bullets, we did a lot of testing and are thinking about 124 to see if we can get a little more out of the comp .
  20. When we set ours up we start at 25 from a bench supported by sand bags and shoot 5 shoot groups, and adjust as needed till we get it where we want it .
  21. I would recommend starting from a bench to make sure you get it dialed in ,and then move to other positions, the PCC is a lot of fun , enjoy . Also I am using the holosun 510c as optic the battery life is awesome ,and the sight size is very nice .
  22. Man I really like the way those look, are there different slot patterns ?
  23. I just don’t see any reason to send a gun that works with another barrel to be tested , it would be different if there was ever a a problem with the gun shooting prior to the MBX barrel .
  24. I agree it’s a shame things couldn’t have been taken care of through thoughtful discussion with the goal of resolving the problem. And not taking a stand of our barrel is 100 %,and there’s something wrong with your gun, if they just would have approached it with let’s figure it out together, or what would you like to do . Then the whole mess is avoided. From the beginning I asked for the midweight barrel or a refund , but they choose to give me no choice. Because my son shoots a midweight . And it shoots nice .
