  1. Small businesses typically are up front about delivery times. TTI certainly is as you already know it’s 6-9 weeks wait. Calling them seven days after ordering isn’t going to make it faster and if you have a change to your order send it by email, generally shop management check email once at end of the day. By by the way. You started a topic on it, if you don’t want suggestions on potential alternative paths for “ how to spend your money” you might consider being smarter about it before bitching seven days after. cause you look hypocritical pissing about a suggestion to buy and build your own then just a few posts down thanking another guy about the Roth tip.
  2. I’m holding out on q5 sf becoming more availabile as well. Imo the weight and striker fire should be a whole new level in production
  3. I’m of the mind get the best you can afford for each division you want to shoot. Don’t shoot just one division. Especially in local club matches where you can shoot multiple divisions in a day. Do so. You may find you have a better time/better skill set with something you started off trying with no love for. personally I shot a lot of firearms as a collector and retired Mil. So when I opted to do competition ( recently mind ya) I figured pick up everything, find out what makes it the most fun, and run with it, litterally... since doing so I’ve shot single stack major ( Springfield TRP 1911) didn’t like the mag planning. Gun was fun but stages are much tougher counting out shots and plotting mag changes. production (sig p226 legion) former carry sidearm but DA/sa I don’t like. Also a glock 34 don’t like the grip on glock and all the addons to make it decent but never great. limited minor STI 2011 DVC 3Gun , easily the most fun, plenty ammo, room to mess about modding even though not nessessary . Best trigger and PCC with a Nordic and sig mpx. Fun, but meh, too much like running shot houses in mil. Kinda old now.
  4. Didn’t JJ Racaza win nationals with a CZ? Might have been a tanfog.
  5. Only ones I can find for sale are used , and at msrp still... frankly, there is no way in hell im buying a used gun with 100s of rounds out it for what a new one costs. They certainly are going to make more..
  6. If you are handy and inclined. Build a taco press with some 3/4 ply and a few door hinges , buy the foam from amazon and a few sheets of kydex. A blade tech mount or an els system and make your own holsters and pouches.Holsters are in my opinion easier to fab. Pouches I’m having issue with mostly trying to find a way to fab doublemag pouches that work well and aren’t bulky. There is a lot of videos on YouTube for instructions. I’ve picked up old holsters ( double alpha ones especially, they got a nice aluminum adjustable bar and pivot) for 30-40 buck for the hardware alone, then fab a new kydex holster for my pistols. To me, considering I’ve got some skill with a grinder and make knives/ weld Et all. Making as much of my rig as I can made more sense because I want to shoot limited, production, carry optics, PCC, and eventually do 3gun. The cost of my first holster and pouches is more than me buying what I need and plenty kydex to wreck learning it. ( my first two holsters had been heated back to flat three times before I got it down well enough to make a separate one for the marbles, mag pouchesI made wooden blocks to mold from, admittedly it didn’t fair well on the mag pouch due to them being bulky and I hadn’t researched much into it to get a good grasp of designs. I’m still actually searching for a great double mag pouchTo emulate....)
  7. I set mine to ratchet behind my holster. Figured that’s the last place I’m reaching for anything once I’ve drawn my pistol.
  8. I have.actually had two mags bullets out with 20 rounds each in MBX mags, held just fine while sprinting. I got a bum leg so not doing wind sprints. They slid down some until one touched the base pad.
  9. The Lowe’s magnet I spoke of earlier with the hook removed and bolted directly to my belt. I put it here just to get a feel of it. And my homemade kydex for double mags and my sti holster. I’m of the mind the price of one holster is the same to cover most the supplies needed ( hotplate, materials for a taco press, and kydex) so if you shoot multiple divisions and are inclined, save some money for ammo. Pouches are the only thing I think are a pain in the ass. Currently I’m looking at trying a few taco type mag pouch.
  10. This is what I mentioned with the plate backing. It basic 6061 t-6 1/8 thick aluminum
  11. I love it. As long as your as fat as your gonna get it seems to be the best way to set up. I figure I’m starting fat, can only trim off belt bits.ill snap a small file pic tomorrow to show my rig
  12. This is my homemade kydex set. Imo if your going to do multiple divisions and are handy, just buy the supplies and make your own.
  13. Just mentioned this in an9tge topic but Lowe’s sells magnets ( same size and type you can buy for double alpha pouches for under five buck, they just have a hook in center which snips out easily, much better option than paying 30 for one.
  14. Lowe’s also sells big magnets with the steel covering they just have a hook center, snip it off and there is a predrill hole there, super easy to add to your kit without more than five bucks and ten minutes work
  15. My local clubs here in Vegas don’t build stages the morning before. Typically all have dedicated crews that while most don’t get paid there is waved match fees for those who volunteer. as a newbie, a free match is basically the best thing ever, you don’t get as nervous and you get a pre match day of seeing stages and working with the designer which is great insight into how it’s set up to run. ive spent months volunteering for different groups building different stages and in the process learning at a drastic rate .. personally, I’d pack up my gear and leave if I showed for a match and that stages aren’t built, “some assembly required” doesn’t come with a match fee.
  16. I got my els belt sadly without an inner belt ( didn’t know safariland as a company at the time, now I’m aware if there is air in the packaging they may charge for it) ordered my ratchet here https://www.ratchetingbuckles.com/ratchet-buckles-ladder-straps/1x13-ladder-strap-with-tab-ls113t-black/ then put an aluminum backing plate on the buckle so it can not twist or shift. The same on my holster hanger with the aluminum 1/8th inch plate the qls hangs much lower and rubs without something holding it. for 3gun or even changing out from one pistol to another it’s the most versatile and quick. But because safariland is in its own place with no direct competition to speak of, ordering from them is slow imo and without discount codes, pricey very quick.. 34 bucks for two plastic clips to even mounts things to....
  17. I’ve yet to see a marked difference between 9/40 on spinners. Shot timing seems to be much more an issue than caliber. Unless your going to shoot uspsa limited often and with a big degree of seriousness... don’t buy the 40... 1. It pigeon holes you if you ever decide to upgrade to a better gun and you’ll not get your money from it. 2 KISS keep It Simple Soldier,, ie getthe 9.. if you decide down the road to change to do uspsa seriously. Buy another dedicated gun for it... personally I got a hard fast rule about not messing with something that works. Meaning I don’t monkey with springs or conversion kits on any gun, once it’s working well, I clean it and leave it. When I monkey with something I end up with bananas.. to me, pistol is the most common thing I shoot, so I spent the most money getting the best I could afford and picked up an sti used from someone I trust to keep track of round count etc.. the second was PCC so I spent a bit under the best possible and got a Nordic for myself and a MBX sig for my wife since that’s her primary. Rifle I made from parts with a arak-21 faxon upper etc shotgun I’ll likely get a stoeger because I’ll shoot it rarely. I often suggest this same priority system to friends getting into shooting because it makes the most sense to get the best possible that works for you on the things you use.
  18. I’m moving to Cheyenne in March-April. Otto road range seems to have the matches and county range seems the spot for winter. im relatively new but collect a lot of divisions. Always up to go shoot. Look forward to meeting yall when we head that way.
  19. I’m trying to get the 2011 magwell for mine to run 170 MBX mags on stages that require mag changes. got the glock magwell and MBX mega extension as well as the tti +11 , frankly the tti sucks, huge pain in the ass loading to 35 ... the MBX was flawless out the box.
  20. I live here in Vegas and Love USSL. Granted I’m very new but it makes much more sense than uspsa rules wise and covers anything you want to shoot. Of course the same group also host uspsa matches as well as two other clubs in town and there’s a bi monthly steel match. i really will miss it when I move in March to Cheyenne.
  21. https://www.venturamunitions.com/categories/bulk-ammo/bulk-9mm-ammo.html 124g and 147g are super popular at local matches in the vegas area ( cheap and readily available) ive personally shot at least 10k mixed of both weights from everything in my safe without a single issue in any gun except my sti using a 10# recoil spring instead of my 9# one... they also sponsor a few local shooters
  22. Lone wolf manufacturing also but they ceased production. the zrodelta is completely modular.. like legos for glock fan boys...should sell buckets of them if the market is anything consistent.... glock boys will buy thousands of dollars of trinkets for thier bro bracelets.
  23. They have... long ago and still do the p226 x5 and x6 series. DOA only but I think both are overweight ( not sure on it, I sold my x6 scadic a while back. Beautiful gun, but twice the price of an sti dvc typically)
  24. I’ve been told get your grip. Meaning either find the gun that fits your hand and your natural point or make it. This from a professional shooter so I’ve been following his suggestion and picked up a few different used guns, sold off some other safe queens I had prior to getting involved and outright omitted a few guns I know already don’t fit my hand. Thus far ive gone through beretta 92, sig p226( which was a service pistol for me for a long while, even though I’m comfortable with it and stilll love sigs, the grip isn’t perfect for me but it still works fine as a house/truck gun) glocks ( not a one I can get to fit my hand well, and I’ve modded quite a few, angle feels steep and natural point is high) walther ppx has easily the best fit for me so I’m searching for a new q5 steel frame ( held one in store, it was perfect, came back the very next day to buy i5 cash in hand and it was gone) Springfield TRP 1911 fit well but single stack isn’t something I want to do after all, I want to work on carry optics, production, and limited. Which is already too much i like tanfog and cz. I don’t like da/sa for production or carry optics. It one more step to remember, one more thing to potentially DQ on. Thus walther for the striker fire. ill keep my sti dvc 3gun mostly because shooting it is fun. I power factor restrictions are dumb and I’m not serious enough about uspsa to give a damn about penalties for using 9mm instead of 40... to me, buying a caliber the rest of the world typically avoids to play a game is foolish, plus steel doesn’t care what caliber hits it. My goal is 3gun and steel matches, everything else is training days. id owned a sig, p226 x6 scandic but couldn’t really find a class for it where it’s suitable. Limited it’s pretty but not as good as a 2011. So that was one of my first collection guns I sold off, just made no sense keeping it when I only shot it in the desert on my own steel. of course I’m still new to spor5 shooting so I’m going through firearms a lot trying to find the best fit and function.
  25. “On Deck” is a. Baseball reference.. the guy in the big circle waiting to bat next.. ”In the hole” is the guy in the dugout with his bat in hand. Usually on the stairs.
