Yeah, OP saying they have something doesn't mean much. They'll even "ship" it but it'll just say label created and then you can't change or cancel your order because it's "shipped" even though they really haven't done anything with it.

That said a buddy of mine saw one of these at a match recently. Not sure how the dude got it, maybe sponsorship. He said it was fine, not good enough to move from his SRO which isn't really a surprise.

    lolz...
I had heard about stories like that but forgot the details. thanks for the reminder. guess I'll just save $$$ til then. I just called the LGS and he said that their dist is listing it but its not in stock so...

  3. Well I have an update. Call it hearsay or second hand but here is the story:

I went to a rimfire pistol pin match last night with a friend. We were the only 2 shooting irons, everyone else had dots. We won 1st and 2nd in our division. Anyway, there were a couple other shooters there talking about CZs and race holsters etc so I asked if they had heard about this new optic and was about ready to start the sales pitch. One of the guys stopped me and said he had 2 on the way already. The look on my face was obvious and I asked him from where. He said Optics Planet to which I gave a brief sigh as I have heard about "stock orders" for that website. We go and setup pins and then he shows me that they did have some in stock and now its showing not in stock. He shows me his receipt order on the phone but all I could see with my old eyes was $3xx. But he was quite convincing and a good shooter.

So looks like the race is on. good luck.

  4. Updates:

    Part 2:

    https://rumble.com/v2665g4-cz-97b-part-2-cgw-race-hammer-and-wide-shelf-safety-install..html

    • CGW Race Hammer
    • CZC wide shelf safety
    • fitting a sear to a safety vs using the adj sear.

    Part 3:
    https://rumble.com/v266tu6-cz-97b-part-3-ext.-fp-install-target-results-and-build-review.html

    • Removing FP retaining pin and installing CGW Ext FP retaining pin
    • First shots on the completed build
    • targets and review thoughts

I will be working on getting a 2 cam (close cam) setup for the next build.

  5. Prof Atlas - mad props and golf claps all around...

I've been working on my 97 recently and just posted this detailed video. I am by no means a professional but I wanted to get something on Rumble JIC
    https://rumble.com/v215uug-cz-97b-build-phase-2-sao-conversion.html

In relation to CZ tuning I have a question about fitting a sear to a safety. On the 97^^^ I fitted the sear to the safety as opposed to using the adjustable CGW sear. I feel like if done right this method provides much more contact area. I think next time I will work this option as well. Also I noted that the face of the safety was not quite level so I will start with that next time. Also another question is because the safety nub is a curved contact area, is there a preferred method to undercut/file the sear on a concave face to match the safety nub? As opposed to filing the underside of the sear flat?

Hope that makes sense. In any case glad to see more recent notes here. have a great 2023.

  6. what's up JJ- love your builds - thx for the info - I believe I have the CZC wide safety, 2 of them actually - CZ TS Extended LHS  #10226.

I guess my question is - will they work in S2? I don't have a S2 or TS so these are just extras for me.

I bought them a couple years ago after not finding the std 75 frame ones thought I could make them work. but after looking and comparing I just saved them for when I get a TS.

I did recently find a couple of nice wide 75 std frame safeties and they seem to be great but havent test fired yet.

  7. Which Safety does the S2 use? Is it the one for the standard 75 or the wider TS safety?

Edit: It looks like the S2 and the TS may use the same safeties. If this is true, I may be your Santa Clause.

    PM me for details.

Cheers and Merry Christmas to all!

  8. What's up gang - Its been well over a year since I have posted here - I'm trying to get more content on Rumble before YT makes the masterful tutorials go *poof*

    https://rumble.com/v215uug-cz-97b-build-phase-2-sao-conversion.html

Much props and hands down to the masters (I am but an enthusiastic part time brok triggersnob), but I feel something is better than nothing.  Here is a quick review:

lock Tite on the LCI plate screw as it ejected at practice session with hot loads - apparently its a thing.

Lok Grips - blue, I also like the rubber grips, I don't like the metal or wood grips that much

    Mods:

Phase1 - CZC E conversion, S2 mag catch, Rear sight

Phase 2 (this video) - CGW SAO trigger, Floating Trigger Pin, reduced power trigger return spring

Phase 3 - race hammer, shelf safety, FPB removal, ext FP and spring, polishing

Feel free to comment on Rumble good or bad - I'm working on a better bench setup for phase2

  9. looks like it shoots flat. The 20# mainsprings sounds stiff, as I always try to reduce those for triggers, but then sometimes get light primer strikes. I'm just curious as to how the stiff mainspring affects trigger and does it help with another aspect I'm not aware of.

I still dig that S2 setup, it looks killer. I hope you roast some TSOs or mates.

As far as the RDS mount goes that looks good. I see what your are saying about thumbrest options. It seems like you would get less dot bounce being over the dovetail as well but just speculating.

On your slide and frame did you just whack the end off flush to keep the comp from contacting the frame during cycling?

It's a great idea, but it would be hard for me to do to a $1500 gun. "I support your bubbaness by proxy"...

  10. I have the dies and need brass. I ordered 1000 cases for my CZ bullshadow SAO. a few days ago. It's back ordered though. IF there is anyone that can get me just a hundo or 2 of these cases I need them for load dev and have pp$ ready - thx.

Best of luck to all - I will report back when I get mine setup.

  11. Whoa! very nice, is that a bushing comp?

I just got my pistola back from the smith - It's the same as it was when I dropped it off at Thanksgiving... Needless to say this has prompted me to get my own tap and die set and other tooling. I will be running open minor for now. it was good just to shoot the dang pistol again.

The Ace Race holster id great, it holds the CZ97 too.

    Here's a pic and todos:

    • grips interference with mag
    • magwell
    • racker
    • RUN IT!!

  12. Welcome to the Poors! Go ahead and pour yourself a cheap beer and heat up some leftovers, you deserve it!
Your plan seems do-able. I think there needs to be some mechanical interference fitting to keep the comp from spinning out of time, which is the problem I have been having. I will defer to the others that have had greater success than I.

  13. Ace Race Bracket - Related to gun in theme of Open Poors...

$14 at lowes and $59 from Ben Stoeger for the block. I had a detailed explanation on another site, but I think we all know what's goin on here so I will save the read.

Looking for opinions on the outside trigger guard. Right now the winning option is just another piece of angle bolted to the rearward facing flat bolted under the block

    ARB_v04_sm.jpg

  14. I might just do that. I don't plan on running this a lot so I may just build another upper for minor with no comp. That would allow me to weld the f*#ker on ot whatever.

I'm gonna float the idea of a roll pin on the bottom of the comp, vs just a set screw. Or maybe 3 more set screws... we shall see...

I totally dig your builds on the other forum where I'm newageroman...

  15. Tried a couple more mags this past weekend. Comp spun more out of time. took it back to the smith. will add another set screw and see how that rolls.

Made my first pistol grip with local walnut. looks like a beaver chewed it for now, but feels ohh so right in the hand.
