  1. Oh I agree with what you all have said. And I don't care if the targets are pasted and someone calls out what they were. That tells all that's needed. It's those few times that they are scored into the pad and pasted and you never know what they were that I'm talking about. And most of the time that's ok too. There is definitely a balance between not dragging out a match and getting feedback.
  2. I understand about the price. I'm usually a cheap sob. But lately I've decided that at my age maybe I would invest in some nicer things if they make life easier.
  3. I'm trying the Artic cool shirts. I'll report when I get them.
  4. Humm, ok thanks. Google here I come.
  5. I have mixed feelings about scoring so quickly and I really don't think any targets should be taped before range is clear command is given. A good scorer with the tablet can help the day go faster, but there's a lot of times I'd like to see my hits after the run. There may be times I tried something and wanted to see how well it worked.
  6. I got an email for these. Has anyone used them and do they work like tech wear type shirts? Seems like a good price if they really do help keep a little cooler. https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Shooters-Connection-Wicking-Competitor-T-Shirt-P4597.aspx?utm_medium=email&utm_source=sharpspring&sslid=MzWzNDcEIjMLM3MA&sseid=MzKwMDA3tbQwNAQA&jobid=a9bcecd2-382d-4add-8c2e-7f0aa3b0e263
  7. If you're running a max load already I'd lower the charge a little and work back up to be on the safe side.
  8. At our last match we had a low port, actually under the wall, we had to shoot through for two close targets in the middle of the array. Being 6'5" and 70 squatting down there just wasn't going to happen. But bending down and using the laser got me 4 As without a loss of time. So for me it was necessary.
  9. I think some of those options were not available when I ordered mine just over a year ago. And some things I just don't remember, but.... The Titanium comp wasn't available then i don't think. But I don't think it would be worth spending very much more for, IMO. I don't think the release is ambi. but not sure as I'm right handed and shoot that way. I forgot to include, Mine is the scs short stroke with 5 steel weights. I shoot a 130 to 135 PF load so the lighter weights seem better to me. There's a lot of different opinions about that though, but from all I've read the heavier the load you shoot the more weight you need in the buffer. But tuning a pcc for no dot bounce is somewhat of a voodoo science all to itself. I wanted the top rail because I mount my laser there for those hard left lean shots in competitions. That's all I have mounted, no adaptors. The smoke comes with all you need. I went to a gunsmith to mount mine simply because he has the vice to hold the gun so it can be worked on easily. We did have to put a couple of tiny shims just to get the rail to line up just right, but if you don't get a rail I don't know if that would be necessary. I just went with the standard competition trigger (3-3.5) Andre recommended, No trigger shoe, just the standard curved one that was no extra cost. I don't know what an Armageddon one is.
  10. There's a lot of options as I'm sure you know but I'll tell you my choices, a lot of which are just personal preference. I recommend getting it built just the way you want, it's worth the wait. You don't say what barrel length you want, but I'm guessing the 14.5 with pinned and welded comp. That was my choice also and I got the stainless steel barrel and comp. I also got the stainless bolt too. It looks better and is much easier to clean. The extended mag release is also a must have IMO. Plenty of other minor preference things to also make ordering it the better way to go also. I too think the heat dissipator is not needed. It also adds weight, but on that note, now they are selling something to ADD weight to the gun. Although a heavier gun will absorb some recoil, I prefer a reasonably lighter one. As for weight, I have a Smoke composites handguard on mine (12") and I love it. As you noted it is a big weight reduction and that reduction is on the FRONT of the gun. My gun balances much better now. If you go with Smoke they make two diameters that will fit. I don't remember the exact names now but one is a little smaller and if you get the full length rail (I did) it doesn't match up perfectly to the top rail on the gun receiver. I have the smaller one and it's no big deal to me. ALSO-if you are going to change handguards ask JP for a barrel nut tool when you order. It is free but you have to ask for it. You have to have one to get their barrel nut off. As for trigger, when I ordered mine I asked about the drop in triggers and what advantage they might have. The person I talked to said basically none, so I ordered the standard competition trigger with yellow springs. His name is Andre and it turns out he is a high level competition shooter. IMO, he is right. It certainly is no hindrance to my shooting. But there's a ton of triggers on the market and a ton of opinions on which is best.
  11. At our local match we just shot a stage where the entire stage had to be shot weak hand/side. It was only about 10 targets, but you had to move some too. That was a nice change of pace.
  12. I hope I never find out, but I'd think a hit hard enough to bend the aluminum one would break the polymer one. Same end result though, you're screwed.
  13. I'll add another thing to think about. I have learned more about stage planning by helping build stages than almost anything else. As you're building there is invariably discussion about the best way to shoot it.
  14. I actually ordered a turf shoe because I didn't want the cleats. I wore them today for a few hours but they are just too narrow , especially on my left foot. Aarrgh! Maybe they'll spread out more in time. Fingers crossed.
  15. I totally missed that chart right there in plain sight. But I'm glad I did. According to it I should wear a 12. That would have been way too small.
  16. I couldn't find a measuring chart for shoes. I usually wear either 12 or 13 so I ordered a 12 1/2. It's a little snug. I wish I had ordered a 13, but maybe it will loosen up a little after a while. They certainly have fast shipping. I ordered on Sunday and received today-Thursday.
  17. Use a 50/50 solution of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide and stick the comp end of the barrel down in it and let it work. It may take a while if you have a big buildup but it will do the job. When done dip in baking soda and water then rinse with hot water.
  18. I shot my first uspsa match Sunday with the 6 moa. I like it better.
  19. Might depend on how far you toss it.....
  20. It has occurred to me that bullet length may be a factor here also. A RN bullet is usually about the longest style. If those MG 124 cmj's are a lot shorter ( I have no knowledge of them) then at the same oal as me you would have less bullet inside the case and would need more powder to get the same PF. Yes, it's been a while but about 1050 to 1100.
  21. Always wondered about the name? Is it pronounced like "get the lead out" or "take the lead" ???
  22. In my gmr 15 with 14.5 barrel + comp I use 4.2 wsf with the RMR 124 rn fmj bullet at 1.115 to 1.120 oal. I have the scs short stroke with 5 steel also. I would think you could back off of 4.9 a good amount unless you just like them a little hotter, which is fine. ETA, My friend shoots the same gun with a similar power factor load and he has the 2 tungston,3 steel setup. He likes it but it doesn't feel good to me. It's like I can feel the weights moving back and forth in his gun. But it's just personal preference imo.
  23. Like I said, SOME running is good, just not too much. As long as practically every stage is not a mini obstacle course, I'm fine. A good mix is what is desired, IMO. I'm not trying to make the sports all alike. But they don't have to be polar opposites either.
  24. I have used the Magpul ACS-L (might have mixed up the letters there?) on two PCCs including the JP. It works very well but I recently decided I wanted something with a higher cheek weld. After looking around at adjustable stocks all I saw was WAY too expensive. So I bought some kydex for $12 and just added it to my stock. Taped some wood scraps to the stock then used a heat gun to soften the kydex and form it around the raised stock. Fastened it with small screws. Works like a charm. Had to buy a riser for my c-more and now I'm a lot more comfortable without my head so bent over.
