  1. I took mine to a gunsmith for help. We didn't use heat, but he did have to get out a big pipe wrench to get some leverage on it. Of course he had a good vice to put it in too.
  2. Maybe you've checked this, but.. Load a mag up then push each round out like it would be stripped into the chamber. I had a mag or two that had a somewhat sharp edge at the front of the mag. As a round would come out the lip/edge of the case would slightly catch on that. Maybe a round just didn't get taper crimped quite enough or something. Anyway, I slightly champfered/rouded that edge of the mag and it hasn't happened since. Worth a look see. Good luck.
  3. Thanks, that was a good video. While watching I was thinking, humm, that might be nice. Then he said it was a dirtier system. That leaves me out. I hate cleaning my gun as is. I don't need something that will need me to clean it more often.
  4. OK, dummy here. What is a roller delay system and why is it better I assume?
  5. He hasn't been in a long while now. I keep hoping he would so I could do just that. Hope all is well with you. Happy New Year
  6. I'm experimenting with the 95 gr bullet from RMR and working up a really light load with titegroup. I'm at about 100 PF right now It cycles my gun (gmr 15 w/5 steel) so now I'm ready to start practicing with it. I wonder what the upper echelon of pcc shooters use at nationals, let's say gm level. I wonder what the winner used this year.
  7. I have the 14.5 barrel and use 124 at about 133 pf. I find that holding the gun tight to my shoulder is what works best for me too. And I too have the 5 steel, but I really would like to try with one T like Falcon pilot has. I'm just too lazy to mess with changing out the weights- don't want to mess things up.
  8. I use c-more railway with a 6 moa dot. Same on my pcc. Nice big window with no clutter around it.
  9. IMO, FWIW, if you're going for a lightweight gun for steel challenge why would you want to shoot full power loads in it. You don't necessarily have to go down to mouse fart loads, but a lighter load will help with recoil and be a little faster. I only played with it a little on a previous pcc, but I tried a quick release mount for my optic on the pic rail. It worked well in that didn't lose zero taking it on and off.
  10. I have one on my LNL AP I load with now, but I will be loading these on my lee classic cast turret. with an RCBS uniflow attached to it. I really like the pyrex measure.
  11. I'm toying with the idea of a really light load for pcc for steel challenge. I'm using 95 gr FMJ from RMR bullets. I've gathered from reading various forums, etc. that a fast powder would be better for this. I thought about titegroup but have read that due to its high nitro content it's hard on powder measures (etching) unless you empty it each time. Well, I prefer to leave powder in the measure and load a few once or twice a day as the mood hits. Therefore i'm thinking of WST. Anyone with experience with this powder have any tips, pros or cons they could offer? Thanks.
  12. I think anyone over 80 should shoot free-wherever. And no I'm only 70.
  13. I use Ballistol in a spray can. I don't carry it in my range bag, but with the cap on there would be no chance of leakage.
  14. Can I ask what bullet, powder and load info you are using to get 61 pf? Or even 80 for that matter.
  15. The more I think about it, it might be a good way to train to shoot with both eyes open. I still catch myself closing my left eye on occasion.
  16. Humm, that sounds weird, but I'll try it sometime.
  17. By taping the optic do you mean using the tape to make a hood over the front of it?
  18. I haven't looked, but have you tried the B&S forum here? Many other shooting forums have B&S sections too.
  19. Peltor tactical 300. 500 if you want bluetooth.
  20. Yeah, I don't get it with all the broken firing pins. I'm still on the original in my JP now for almost two years and I never broke one in the Colt I had the previous 2.5 years before that. And I had a replacement Timmney trigger in the Colt. My guess is it has to do with all the jacking around with bolt and buffer weights.
  21. I have to torn off mine after every stage also. I have never run a battery completely down but if I see I have to turn it all the way to max just to see it I change it. True it is not a major expense, but just an inconvenience. Especially when other sights seem to run forever on a battery.
  22. Unless they come up with a better battery for it I'd hate to think it was worse on battery life than the red already is.
  23. If you have JP rifle they will s4end you a barrel nut tool for free if you ask them. (At least they did when I got mine) Once you have the tool it's not that hard. I put a Smoke Composites handguard on mine. It comes with its own barrel nut.
