  1. Once I sorted through the arguments for and against, I can safely say that I feel it SHOULD be allowed. But, for long term feasibility, I think that RO's should be trained on clearing long rifles. There is already an approved rule set for multigun, so a simple copy/paste of those parameters for rifle into the handgun handbook for PCC would be a piece of cake. I do think that USPSA HQ kind of hamstringed those for PCC by the "rules" they sent out. Kind of hap-hazard to me, but with good intent. I like the idea of using an "aiming point" outside the shooting area for PCC's to start at. But, if they limited the starting positions to either low ready or port arms, that would be even easier. Port arms=butt of PCC on belt, muzzle at eye level. Low ready=PCC shouldered, muzzle below belt. Seems simple as that is what we do in multigun. I see those in opposition to PCC the same that supported the new "carry optics" division. It is an open gun, why do we need one more division? The simple answer: to get more people shooting safely.
  2. I went with this one. Had it install in minutes and already shooting it. Thank you everyone! Jason
  3. I have been shooting 3gun/multigun for 15 years (although my scores do not maybe show that...). This year I decided to get serious, decide what works for me and what doesn't, and adapt. My shotgun has always been my bane. Starting with a Winchester SX3, then Remington Tactical, and finally biting the bullet and buying a Benelli M2. While the Benelli is supposed to be a great shotgun, mine always had issues from day one. First mod was the shell carrier/elevator, and I modded it before actually testing to get a baseline. THIS WAS A BA IDEA! Turns out that IT was most of my problem from the buzzer. Finally got that loading issue fixed, but knew my long game was suffering because I bought an 18.5" TACTICAL model. Looking back, I should have bought a field gun. So, this year I decided that I needed more sight radius and upgraded my beloved Benelli with a 26" vent rib barrel. Kenji and Joel at Taran Tactical Innovations have been instrumental in helping me get this beast running right. I sent them my bolt and had them do their magic to it (lighten, ghost load mod, out of battery loading mod, pretty color), ordered a spring kit from them (trigger, hammer, and recoil) and had all that installed in a matter of 20 minutes. Opened up the loading port. Added a +9 Nordeinc Components mag tube, spring, follower, and clamp. SO today, after installing my barrel, I am going to find me a HI-Viz front sight for this barrel and get to shooting. Nothing like upgrading the week BEFORE a major match. What does the wide world of Brian Enos Forums use for fiber optic front sights? I have more than a few dollars into my shotgun already, and a nice sight would do just the trick. Thanks for any help. Jason
  4. My recommendation, if you can swing it in the finance department, do it. You will not be disappointed.
  5. Chuck Mawhinney. Chuck's Meat Can't Be Beat. Chicken OR Beef. Best dang steak ever.
  6. I can't remember if it did our not as that was the first mod I did.
  7. "Tactical Fat" is what I have heard it called. But yes, having a little (or a lot, as the case may be) of belly, it will hold better where you want it.
  8. So, after what feels like forever, my beloved Benelli M2 runs like a raped ape! Took my carrier out and polished the back edge a bit more and cleaned a rough patch on it and no more jams! Shot a 3gun match yesterday and it ran flawlessly! Thank you to everyone for the help.
  9. Clarification on this rule (OPEN DIVISION SHOTGUN): 5.5.3 Magazine tube length shall not be changed for the duration of the match. (Nothing longer than 48" will be allowed!) Does this mean that the shotgun cannot be over 48" OR magazine tube not be over 48"?? First, a 48" magazine tube is RIDICULOUS! Or is that for detachable magazines?
  10. The best is what you can afford that fits your criteria. I run a Criterion 18" barrel with rifle gas system. Superb shooting barrel. I do not know the weight, but my whole rifle less optic is just under 8 pounds.
  11. I am running an 18" Criterion barrel, rifle length gas system, low profile gas block, and a Primary Weapon Systems FSC556 brake. Soft shooting, have zero issue shooting 500 yards with bulk ammo on 2MOA targets. 1 moa targets at 500 is not easy, but not difficult either. I have run 16, 18, and 20, and the crux of the matter is the trigger puller, not the barrel/gas block/gas length. Know your rifle and know your dope on the fly. THAT is what wins.
  12. I have two Taccom 8 round caddies on my belt, but recently bought a Chameleon Fabrics 24 round carrier. Yes, it is for twin loading, but super comfortable. I can put it on, then when I go prone I can twist it around to my back and not lose shells. Or start that way if I think they will be in the way.
  13. While waiting for my new carrier spring, I removed the bolt release and cleaned up the razor sharp edge that was in there. Polished it, and put it back together. Did another couple mag dumps just to check 95% better, and I may pull it back out and see if it needs more tuning. I am trying to be gentle and not remove too much material. (Sorry, I swore on this one...)
  14. It should be noted that the exact same problem existed before I replaced the recoil spring.
  15. I replaced the original spring with the TTI. I still have it.
  16. Ordered the shoeing, and I'll be polishing that spot on the bolt stop. Kind of hoping that cures it.
  17. Austin, used the Nordic spring, but since it hangs up at different intervals, I do not suspect it. Rboyes, I'll be checking that out first thing this morning.
  18. I already have installed the TTI recoil spring, trigger spring, and hammer spring. Or do you mean a new carrier spring?
  19. All good ideas. This is a factory lifter that was modified. I removed the spring and it easily glides through its range of motion. Sharp edge on the extractor? I am not following there. TTI modified my bolt and cleaned up the extractor. (That is what they said that they do. I am calling them tomorrow, but would rather learn what is happening.) Is it possible that my lifter is the problem? I will get a photo of it and upload it later tonight.
  20. I do not know why the third video won't show up....
  21. I have an older (8 or 9 year old) Benelli M2 with Ghost Ring sights, shorter barrel (whatever length they were), and a +9 Nordic Components extension with follower. I have opened up the loading port, I welded the carrier up, TTI Bolt and spring kit (hammer, trigger, and recoil). I have pretty much had the same issue since new, and I am little passed frustrated. Here is what is happening: shotshells will hang up on the carrier while the bolt is back. SOmetimes the first, sometimes the last, but hangs up 1 in 10 rounds or so. Never the same # in the tube, just randomly. I thought it was me for a long time, but others have the same problem with my gun. I have tried numerous loads (heavy, medium, light), slugs (light and heavy recoil) and buckshot, all presenting the same problem. Watch the videos. Let me know what you think. I will provide more info if needed.
  22. As others have said, the glass is far superior in the Razor. I have both, and the Strike Eagle is a solid choice. My wife uses it on her 16" AR and has no issues hitting steel plates (+/- 2moa) out to 400 yards. Even nailed an 800 yard target on the clock with it. If you have the money to spare: Razor. If not, Strike Eagle. You can't go wrong either way.
  23. Another vote for Vortex Razor 1-6. I know my holds out to 600 with my loads, so usually do not have issues. My issues are usually wind related, hard to guess them on the fly in the county I shoot in. Constantly shifting winds.
  24. The times used to be that the shorter barrel with ghost ring sights were the rage. That is what I still run, even with the "ridiculous" +9 tube. Given a few hundred dollars, I would consider swapping out for a 24" barrel.
  25. I use standard El Cheapo from Wal-mart. Takes me 3 on average, if my head is in the game.
