If one uses a lower spring weight and the lockup is not good enough, how does the ZR guide rod improve on that when it also uses a lower weight 14 lbs spring? I am not good at pistol mechanics and I am trying to understand that.
Can you replace recoil spring on this guide rod? I looked at their site photos and can't figure it out.
No issues with lockup 14 seems to be the sweet spot. Also yes it’s just a ismi spring .
My polymer pdp has a 11lb recoil spring , lucky 7 ports , reduced striker . As long as I keep it oiled it has no issues with lockup however most people will run 13lb . The steel frame without changing the striker will function fine with 15/14lb if you go lower you will have to change out striker to a reduced one to counter lockup.
best thing is to see what the gun will run then video it to the side see which one runs the flattest without to much muzzle dip etc .

Yep I have canik claim it was a mag catch well I changed that pia catch they sent me with no difference in over insertion. I’ve seen the tf pads they are nice !

My black rival sfx s is doing the same thing with henninggroup base pads . Please let me know if you fix it .

Most are running them in carry optics and production so as many of them are in use a very small number will have a magwell
Yea I agree , just figure I’ll run it with 3 gun or open for the heck of it just trying to figure out what’s the biggest magwel I can get and if my base plates will work or with slight mods
-
Nobody have a magwell ? And ran henning group ?
-
I have henning group + 6 baseplates the older style that are compatible with mag wells just seeing who has experience with which mag well that will work ?
also I have lok grips I’m assuming I could use a dremal to shorten them to accept a mag well ?

I’d go with the 11# spring. That’s what I currently have in my Shadow 2 and it shoots flat. My load is 124 Gr PD JHP at about 130-132 PF.
Thanks are you c/o ? Or will that make a difference ?

I tried the 8-10-12-14-16. I like the 14#.
That’s surprising figured the lighter spring would feel flatter like in a 2011

I have a cz shadow 2 with dpp cajunized with their slide cut with lightening cuts . Do I need to Change spring weight ? What are you guys running ? I have a 11 and 12 lbs spring shooting reloads minor pf

Uh.. carry optics requires Hammer guns to be decocked at the start. Are you going to cock the hammer?
sa. Install sa trigger. Should be no effect on your Cajun gear.
Well scratch that then lol . I’m new to carry optics I assumed you didn’t have to decock on c/o only in production. Guess that’s why you don’t see any s/a in cz shadow 2 c/o.

Question. So I have a cz shadow 2 and I’m shooting carry optics . It has a full Cajun pro package trigger job with race hammer . If I put in a armory craft flat face trigger is that going to be a issue where it has the Cajun trigger job with race hammer/ adjustable sear? I’ve been told I take the disconnect out then some say leave it in ? Trying to find out who has done this ? Wa wondering about the adjustable sear that’s in it if that makes a issue ? I really like a flat face trigger and since I’m shooting carry optics I don’t have to have the da

Has anybody tried the atlas shielded ambi ? I have a 2011 edge with nitro fin looking at this one and the double tap .

I’m looking at the atlas shielded safety or the double tap . But really thinking about pulling the trigger on the atlas one .

I think your pistol is broken and you should let me have it. haha
Haha this gun has never had a hiccup minus this one mag in like 2k of ammo just wish IDPA wouldn’t get bent out of shape if I didn’t have to do a slide lock reload I would just count my bullets and do a mag change on empty

In this match is your mag capacity limited or are you loading them up?
if you don’t need max capacity I still have some mags with the stock STI followers that won’t lock until empty. If you work on them a little I can still get 19 rounds.
Yea I’m going to be limited 10 so I won’t need max capacity I’m thinking about ordering stock spring follower from Dawson hope that works .
-
Due to a special match I need to run some mags that lock back on empty it’s going by somewhat IDPA rules with reloads . I know my gun is not IDPA legal or I would just run my mbx not worry about it . How would I fix it to lock back on empty ? So the grams won’t lock back ?
-
I was going to order grams/spring follower see if that’s the issue . Will I need to tune them any ? Never tuned mags before so I’m new to this .
-
I have a sti edge 40 cal that on only one mag it’s locking back with one round left in mag . It doesn’t do this with my other mags could this be a worn out spring / follower ?

Thanks for the info sounds like since I’m only shooting one gun the racer x is the way to go ! Appreciate the help !
-
Has anybody had any experience with the racer x ? I’ve found a lot of info on racemaster and alpha x but not the alpha racer x which is suppose to be a upgraded version of racemaster with no insert .

I bought the last left handed Racer for an STI at DAA. It’s fine if you don’t plan on changing guns or grips, since it doesn’t have inserts. My Cheely E2 fit fine, as did a standard plastic grip. I assume the new Racer X would be similarly non-modular.
I found a double alpha racer with sti insert for 125 but not sure if I should get the racer x for 139 or go all out for the alpha x .
-
Has anybody tried this holster I know it’s new but looks like a good less expensive option then the alpha x . Wondering if it is worth spending extra for the alpha x vs racer x holster . Also anybody have issues with the original racer holster?

Yes sir their will be no issues with a 14lb spring I own two full size pdp and 1 steel frame pdp. As long as you don’t go down to a 13lb you should be fine with lockup. If it does just throw a reduced striker in there . I’ve got about 50/60k rounds between the three and two have reduced strikers no issues with primers .
