I know how it feels. Happened to me in the middle of Space City. Have a back up TS next time around. I now have 2 extra sets.

The Cowtown Classic 2013
edwin garcia replied to kaiserb's topic in Match Announcements - Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC & Misc.
This is the match to shoot. A very challenging match. Not for the faint of heart, in my opinion. Had lots of fun, Squad 9 got thinned out but we were taping and reseting stages like a machine. Awesome squad! The ROs/Staff are all very professional. Ken and Steve did an awesome job! Big thanks to Cross Timbers Action Shooting for hosting the match. This facility is excellent they even made the sun rise where it supposed to and temperature set at 60-70 degrees! Will definitely be back next year! -
I agree with you on that one. And i didn't say I can see through solid/opaque objects. I said the other eye can compensate where the affected eye can't see. It's fairly well documented how human vision works. Yes again. And that's why I said YMMV. I apologize if I sound argumentative but, I guess my point is, to the OP, try it first before reaching to a conclusion. There are enough shooters with sidemores around anyway. Oh, I forgot. I switched to CMore RTS few months ago. Kinda missed the sidemore but RTS looks less funky.

True: IF you're only using one eye. Humans have bifocal vision so in most cases, the left eye will compensate for the field of view that's obstructed from the right eye and vice versa. Personally, I was skeptical about sideway mounts at first because : 1. They look funky, 2. They might obstruct my FOV. I tried it and shot in major/local matches but i really didn't notice it. And I'm a southpaw at that. But, yes, YMMV.

Windage/elevation is a pain, like what Keen said. I keep a note in my smart phone for sighting purpose.i.e., Move dot left = Cmore elevation > DOWN. As for the racker, didn't need one coz the placement of the mount and scope opened the back serrations of the slide. The scope itself can be a kickstand for you 'northpaws' on table starts. not so much for us 'southpaws', but I use a different technique.

It's a matter of preference. Some shooters like it 6, some 5. What can help you go to a local match and ask shooters with 6 and 5 for a test. Most of them will say yes, unless they're really low on ammo. Personally, I like the 5 inch but I think 6 inches are cool too once you configure the right load and spring rate. Shay will definitely help you out!

First and foremost, we want to show our gratitude to all who participated in this match. It has been a tough and grueling week for all shooters and we hope that you enjoyed the 2013 Texas State Open. We also thank all our sponsors who supported this year's match. They are the pillars of this sport and let us show our appreciation by considering them in our next purchase. We would also like to thank the staff, volunteers and the range officials. They went beyond their call to assist everyone in making this match a success. It was particularly challenging for them to extend the shooting hours on Saturday to adjust for the inclement weather on Sunday. Kudos to the staff. I'm at work. No Gun Zone, sorry. It's in front of the scope, right below the glass. Yes there is a round sensor that you'll see...hardly visible. I use the blue painters tape 2-3, if i'm indoors. BUT, make sure you set your switch to 'AT' and NOT 'M'. In 'AT' mode, the sensor will detect ambient light, in 'M' mode, it doesn't care, it will go full blast. Hope this helps.

put 2-3 layers of tape over the sensor.

+1 to Chris. Mine will be = Reliability. Consistent reload. Weight. Can't think of anything else...

I know this has been said a few thousand times before. But damn they're good. Nuff said.

In my opinion, it's user preference. In my experience with my previous trubor setup, IMR 4756/7625 have better impulse/dot tracking feel than VV3N38/N105/Vectan SP-2. Where as, my current setup feels superior using VV3N38/N105/SP-2 way better than IMR powders. But, YMMV.

Plated Bullets Tumbling Out Of New Schuemann Barrel!
edwin garcia replied to Ssanders224's topic in 10mm/40 Caliber
Well, my experience has been the opposite. My AET shot the Xtremes really well...... my new conventional Ultimatch is tumbling them. Understood. But the OP did not. And the Infinity website stated you may not achieve best results with plated bullets. They did not single out Extreme bullets though. So it's a starting point for the OP to review his ammo, and not just the bullet but the other factors that can affect it, i.e., velocity, crimp etc. Hope this helps the OP. -

From Infinity Web: "If you plan on using true jacketed bullets and desire the ultimate in accuracy the AET barrel is for you. The Titanium Nitride finish has an added benefit of greatly extending barrel life. If you plan on shooting lead, or copper plated bullets you are probably best served getting our conventional rifled barrel." http://www.sviguns.com/7101.php -
