  1. I have a Double Alpha belt with double alpha-x mag pouches and alpha-x open holster setup for USPSA open.

I have a safariland setup for 3gun tacops (shotgun quad loading caddies, pistol caddies that are not compatible with 2011 mags, ar-15 mag caddies, pcc caddies).

I decided I want to try shooting 3gun open after buying a VR80. Only shot a couple 3 gun matches and intend to compete with my USPSA open pistol (9 major)

Looks like I can get a part from DA to get my alpha-x holster on safariland belt and there are alpha-x mag caddy adapters for els or 2" belt hangers.

Alternatively I can buy new caddies for AR and shotgun and put on DA belt.

    Questions -

1-how important is adjustability of belt when shooting 3 gun open?

2-does DA alpha x holster provide enough security for an open USPSA 2011 gun?

3-are there better mag caddies for 1.5" or 1.75" belts?

4-which upgrade route should I take?

    Thanks for input!

  2. Been doing that, but annoyed as I switch between drills having to mess with changing the timer. Would also like to get splits, understand how much I am over/under par time, etc. Seems helpful if more sensitive timer would work, and coolfire system seems more than loud enough.

You should probably define what better means to you.

I own a GMR-15, a Gen 2 MPX and a MPX PCC.  I don't think it matters one bit which I bring to a match as to how I finish.  They go about their business differently but that is just the nature of their designs.  My Gen 2 became quite finicky after about 10K rounds.  My PCC has run like a champ and is actually softer shooting than my Gen 2.  My short stroked and tuned JP is dead nuts reliable, beautifully built and accurate.  It is also infinitely easier to clean.  It is certainly the easier PCC to own and you will get better resale should that day come.  The MPX is probably more fun to shoot just because of its non-existent recoil.  I run 145-150pf out of the PCC and it is noticeably softer than my JP at 130ish.

I would say pick what of those attributes is important to you and be guided by that.

    I also have both.

The mpx is so fun to shoot, but cleaning is more important and about 3 times more work. I don't think at my level it makes any difference to scores (A class) as long as gun runs reliably.

I have had issues with reliability with JP when using Goliath mag extensions, polymer bullets, and short stroking. I think I got resolved by cleaning up mag body transition and follower.

Mpx had reliability issues until I upgraded extractor.

At this point both guns run.

Does anyone know what kind of places fill paintball tanks. No paintball places near me I can get to.

I filled up at a home brew company. $5 for a 20 oz tank. Tank going strong after a few months.

Are you seeing any problems with ejection? Reliability? Impacting the SRO housing? Or does brass head out more to the right and avoid the whole thing?

And what about fogging lense? Are X5s coming without a loaded chamber indicator or is that still a request?

  6. I have 4 sets of pro ears for self, wife, son. Every year or so a band breaks and they send me a replacement no questions asked for free. I bought a pair of msa sordins recently and I can't believe what I was missing. Much better audio quality and increased comfort from sordins but at much more money.

  7. This is data over 2 months.

Started with SWMP, loaded a bunch until I was out of powder. Then I bought 115's and couldn't test SWMP with 115s.

Next, I tried HS6 with both 124's and 115's and I liked the 115's, so I bought a case of those.

Now I am trying my new AA7 115 loads vs the SMWP 124 loads I loaded up originally.

I had fewer shots when I captured SD/ES for SWMP so I didn't consider the numbers valid. This is not as scientific as it could be, but it is what I have.

  8. Here is my data (Venom Custom, 9mm, 5.4" barrel KKM, 3 port comp, 2 barrel holes):

AA7 shot better groups with better return to zero. SWMP gave me unburnt granuals left over, AA7 gives me a nasty residue. SWMP powder was clumpy in container but broke up easily.

I will be sticking with AA7 for now.
