  1. My classifications peaked (no pun) in 2021…M class PCCO, RFRO and A in RFPO. Due to age now plus significant physical changes during 2022 and 2023 I am shooting A class. I will only be shooting Level 1 matches. I’m a Distinguished Super Senior category. The dilemma for me is do I just shoot my local L1 matches against those in my divisions regardless of class and have fun or do I request a classification downgrade? At what point does a classification really matter even though I worked hard to earn the M class in my late 60’s?
  2. unless I heard wrong during last night’s live streamed BOD meeting, the rules will be clarified to allow low ready pistol to be shot with a holstered pistol. To be treated the same as a long gun. Dropped gun…..on the shooter.
  3. Corpus Christie Gun Club is an excellent range. Very large complex.
  4. I did some research on the question of Top 20 in SCSA vs. Top 20 in Steel Ranking. The basis is different for the two as I see it: 1. SCSA Top 20 is numeric listing of 1 - 20 WITHIN each Classification. Once a classification is earned, it will not go down on the basis current percentages. Hence Top 20's for each Classification. 2. Steelrankings.com by @jrdoran is a straight numeric order based CURRENT Percentages by Division (2022, 2023 and now 2024) regardless of Classification....#1 thru # 427. For example, the top 20 Optical Sight Revolver in this program is a combination of GM and M shooters. That's the difference as I see it. I don't follow the SCSA Top 20, but I assume as ;current M's reach a GM percentage greater than the current GM Top 20, they would move over into the GM column.
  5. Revolver Optics example if you compare the GM class in SCSA Top 20 to the current active Top 20 in @jrdoran Steelrankings.com, you will see two different Top 20’s. why? No clue. Probably a legacy factor.
  6. Were they in the 2023 ranking? maybe message @jrdoran if you haven’t already? thanks. btw….my number of matches in 2023 were much less than 2022 and 2021. I expected the 2024 SCSA re-calculation to bust me down….and they did.
  7. Interesting. I looked at my 2024 rank vs 2023. Refer to @jrdoranSteelRankings.com https://myenos.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/index.html My ranking position improved but my percentage against a smaller total number of shooters increased. Note: Due to the recalculation of my actual classification percentages by SCSA this week, my classification percentages went down. I looked at RFRO in Steelrankings.com. In 2023 there were 200 shooters with percentages of 95%. The minimum for GM. Starting 2024 (based on 2022, 2023 and early days of 2024) the same number of GM’s dropped to 145. It will be interesting to see how the rankings change as the number of scores/matches increases in 2024. I looked at the Top 20 in SCSA and it seems to me that there are legacy shooters still shown. Maybe not. Does anyone know? it will be fun (I hope) to watch my progress in 2024 when steelrankings.com updates.
  8. @jrdoranEasy to get topic drift. perhaps @GKB excellent data crunching is best under starting a new topic for 2024? Or using the 2024 Peak Time topic?
  9. The Ranking List by @jrdoran is based on current percentage.....regardless of the loss of scores from 2021 dropping off. Correct?
  10. I'm having a mental block so bear with me. Dropping 2021 caused the lose of scores in some divisions but NOT their percentage. So the numbers shown is only for shooters who have scores and percentages?
  11. Since a single member can shoot multiple divisions.........then shift to another division....it is difficult to assess why the large drop in the total numbers. -8,554 is a drop of 30.7%.....large.
  12. That’s a big drop in total numbers from 2023 to 2024. Wonder why?
  13. Did I miss a logic correction? 2024 RFRO total numbers went down compared to 2023?
  14. Yep. My PCCO, which I haven’t shot much since 2022 and 2023 lower back surgeries just got hammered. M back to A. My RFPI scores are gone. Time for me to set realistic goals for 2024.
  15. Thanks. Do you or anyone know if this applies to USPSA shooters as well?
  16. Will this Wednesday’s SCSA update: (1) post scores from 2023 and, (2) Drop 2021 from calculating best of scores?
  17. @motosapiens you shoot SCSA. I’m curious of what your opinion is for SCSA allowing LO. every week at a SCSA match I’m asked about LO. When a USPSA shooter shows up with their LO gun, they are disappointed and confused why LO is not allowed. thanks
  18. Did you merge the 3 I had sent you? 67 is amazing. Lot of cleaning guns
  19. I agree. No gaming. Just how it works. My understanding when the 2yr/current year was initially discussed, there was talk about having the classification’s change up or down. That thought was abandoned and left as USPSA….no changing/lowering class.
  20. This is interesting to me. Dropping bad year and classification could go up….dropping good year and percentage and really, classification goes down. But who is the better performer? Another unintended consequences?
  21. Is this correct? I thought it just skipped the DNF stages. Wasn’t DNF set to avoid skewed scores?
  22. Good points. We have the same confusion at our level 1 matches. @ZackJones is the SCSA liaison at USPSA.org who facilitates discussions like this with the BOD. People are trying to decide to buy or convert a LO gun for SCSA. I would hope that soon, there would be an announcement on this subject….either yes or no.
  23. @jrdoran Question/Example: Shooter shoots 4 stages of a 5 stage match. Gun breaks on stage 5 and shooters decides he’s done. Miss Stop plate, Max time or DNF? And how does this factor in rankings?
  24. Very well said. several of us have been saying the same thing. @jrdoran and @GKB efforts have shown quite a bit of info to your points.
