  1. It should be simple: 1. Keep long guns flagged and cased. 2. or take case to safe table and transfer to cart. 3. don’t touch the gun until called to the line to shoot or at safe table. 4. end of match, re-case from carts at safe table. 5. go home.
  2. Geissele SD-3G, but also get their competition trigger springs that are sold separately and install the lighter one. This will gve you a Lighter trigger pull with strong hammer spring.........very good combination for me in my 15-22. 100% reliable for me.
  3. @JodiH and others. At recent matches handling of PCC and RFR's have come up. I will set up a few points as consice as possible: 1.1 Cold Range. Interpreted to be what to expect when a shooter arrives at a match. Par 1. states that PCC and RFR's must have chamber flags and be cased or secured in a cart. 2.4 Safety Areas. Essentially host must have safety areas (tables) for the match and identified with signs. Tier II adds the words "bounderies clearly shown". 8.1.7 The on-deck competitor MAY unbag or remove firearm from cart into a side berm or staging area PROVIDED the bay being used as sufficient side-berm space to permit this practice. Once removed; muzzle reasonably vertical up/down. 10.3.1 Automatic DQ for Unsafe gun handling specifically OUTSIDE the bounderies of a STAGING area or SAFETY area. 10.1.13 The last paragraph has caused some discussion. The berm/backstop is NOT required while removing/returning a properly flagged long gun from/to a vehicle provided all other safety rules are followed. My comments and viewpoints for discussion: 10.1.13 first. This does not allow for long guns to be transported from/to a vehicle flagged and vertical up/down. Must be in a flagged and in a case. Transferring a long gun from a case to a cart must be down at a safe table. 8.1.7 regarding the on-deck handling of a long gun. Unless the bay has specifically defined staging area against a berm or a specific safe table, long guns are not to be handled until the shooter is called to the line and given make ready command. The glossary defines Staging Area as " A designated portion of a range where only long guns may be cased and uncased prior to or after completing a course of fire." So shooters can't assume they can face any berm and uncase and walk over the line vertical up or down. At our range, we have ONE Safety Table and thats it. No other bounderies marked. A shooter can't determine there is sufficient space against a berm. Comments?
  4. I was reading an Enos post titled HHF and Classification and a few of you posted similar comments on it then. There’s a lot more new people posting now. Problems with the system, random classifier adjustments, etc. The post was in 2008……16 yrs ago. I suppose it’s difficult to identify areas of concern and to get HQ’s attention. For transparency, I am now an exclusive SCSA shooter (age and physical issues) but some of this discussion regarding classification’s is similar to SCSA regarding changing classifier peak times. It’s been interesting reading your posts.
  5. @joseywales Thanks. We have several active monthly SCSA matches in the San Antonio/Austin area as well as USPSA matches. Nice to have an AD somewhat close to us.
  6. Does Ken also shoot Steel Challenge or run SC matches?
  7. BOD is required to post 2023 financials. I believe the budget discussions in recent meeting is for 2024. During the last meeting I believe I heard the MD voice some concern with revenue drop in early 2024 and how to use early data for budget projection. This was also mentioned in A6’s recent podcast. Members will eventually see both 2024 budget and 2023 financials.
  8. Was there any BOD discussion on 2023 financial results status?
  9. Is there a video of the second meeting? I thought it was yesterday.
  10. Agree. They should post minutes before the next BOD meeting. Otherwise continuity is lost between meetings.
  11. The HQ letter to member posted yesterday was not clear about posting minutes.
  12. Are the live streamed meetings archived so members can access them? Not everyone can catch the real time streaming.
  13. Yes. Google hotels Corpus Christie and you will see several to pick from.
  14. To all: I believe that this topic may be reaching a conclusion. When I first started this, I wanted input on Limited Optics for SCSA. As expected, there has been expressions of opposition and support regarding adding LO’s to SCSA. The total number of posts is a small percentage compared to the number of views. This is typical of most topics in the Enos universe. The final decision should be put to the SCSA members by the BOD’s lead by @ZackJones who is presenting this for discussion at the next board meeting. The decision should not be by a few people or influenced by single individuals outside of the board. It’s the board’s responsibility. This is my opinion and I respect those who may not agree. Thanks for your posts. It’s been informative.
  15. I made a mistake with the BOD comment. I REALLY would like us to avoid any more comments. if not, I’ll request the moderator’s to shut it down. any comment on LO is fair game. thanks for your cooperation Hoops
  16. 10 pages. A diary of thoughts
  17. I think these are great ideas. Typically the BOD respond to member input. I’m particularly interested in your bullet points 1, 3 and 4. Would you share your thoughts on these? BTW, if the BOD could quit having elections and dealing with which AD is in or out, perhaps more member time would be available.
  18. Input is always appreciated. I also shoot in A4 where there are several matches/shooters from USPSA and SCSA who want LO’s in SCSA and don’t want to shoot in Open. The genie was let out of the bottle when it was approved on probationary basis in USPA…..where LO has been growing fast. IMO, it would not be appropriate for it to be summarily shot down by a board of few. LO is on the next BOD agenda for discussion by @ZackJones, DSC. Ultimately all members should have a say. I suppose we will know in a few weeks. Thanks
  19. Agenda posted USPSA website. LO for SCSA is listed. Thanks @ZackJones
  20. This topic is approaching 15,000 views. I personally know from a close friend (USPSA GM) who has another social media platform that the interest in LO in SCSA is high. I’m glad that LO will be presented to the BOD. Hopefully the next BOD agenda will be posted soon.
  21. And…..okay for centerfire (no magnum loads). SC limits PCCO to max 1,600 fps. Do not weld on the plates. Loose hanger caps with slotted plates…..you can use both sides of plates. We have been using slotted plates for years w/o the hook causing any bounce back. Shooting Targets 7. Good luck
  22. BOD minutes not yet published. Any update on A4 vacancy?
