  1. I hear ya there! I've been eyeing the SRO's but I haven't bought into the hype either. I think all optics fail at some point. Looking thru all the reviews, posts etc it really seems its hit or miss if you get a "good, reliable" optic or not, no matter what the brand is.
  2. I had an issue with a large popper very recently at an area match. Hit was clearly in scoring zone. Popper didn't fall. Called for calibration and it fell. It was a large popper that didn't attach at the base and kind of leaned forward. I said the same thing...my 1st shot pushed it back just enough and that calibration shot was the final push over. I had already passed chrono. I will say I don't think competitors should be resetting that kind of steel, as it can lead to inconsistency (at area 3 match at least)
  3. I've got a steel guide rod with a lighter spring...(not sure the exact weight off the top of my head) and reliability was not effected at all...your good to play around.
  4. CZC Plate system is the way to go IMO. Heads up...currently the plate for the SRO is out of stock...has been about two weeks now.
  5. Im assuming you know the SRO comes in a 2.5 MOA as well?
  6. Great review...love to see a review from someone with that many rounds on a slide mounted version.
  7. I read an article in one of the shooting mags about 8 years ago that talked about the dangers of lead, and since then I have always taken precautions. Lead is particularly bad for little kids, so be extra careful if you have little ones in your house. Because of this thread I had my lead level checked at my last physical. It was 4. I'll continue to have it tested as long as I am shooting/reloading (hopefully forever).
  8. Lok makes thin versions too which may work better for your S2.
  9. Speaking of Area 8, can any of you more experienced guys shed some light on two questions? How does a match bump work in a case such as this, when a B class shooter wins the division? I also noticed I received a classification score for Area 8 (I shot CO) but my two friends who both shot production did not. There were more than 5 GM's in production
  10. To be at the top that long is just crazy, hes an animal
  11. Very nice! I was surprised to read that the Sp-o1 was too big for your hands, but an S2 was not?
  12. Add another Boombah fan to the list. Thanks to this post I ordered a pair (after trying Salomans and finding them too narrow). I wear a 11.5 and depending on the brand sometimes I wear wides. I went with 11.5 in the Boombah's and they are a little snug but break in nicely after a few hours. Great grip. It looks like all the trail running shoes are on clearance and nothing to replace them, so they may be discontinuing the line. Right now you can get 3 pairs of Boombahs for the price of ine pair of Salomons.
  13. I have this one and it has done the job on a few glocks and CZ's. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NCStar-VTUPRS-Mountable-Universal-Pistol-Rear-Sight-Tool/152602287328?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200520130048%26meid%3D68d37e061ec64c23b97953e49763e8e3%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D274280660824%26itm%3D152602287328%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV2bDemotion%26brand%3DNcSTAR&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  14. I don't have any experience myself, but I do know a shooter that had his Shadow 2 milled out enough to fit the XL.
  15. Actually the diagram doesn't show much you can work with...since its from the match book and the stage itself was not an exact replica of that diagram. I shot the stage and while I am not saying the RO was unsafe, I agree that with the confinement of the area for the stage, they could've moved those targets downrange by a few feet and still had the same challenge with less safety concern. That's just my unofficial opinion and I have no experience building stages, so I'm not gonna complain about them
  16. Thanks guys....I've been running it trying to recreate the issue, and it hasn't happened again. I'll probably still send it back though. I've never had an issue like this with any of my glocks.
  17. Nobody has asked if you cleaned them at all? Around here we're cleaning any mag that hits the dirt between stages. Its like moon dust at most ranges and causes a malfunction just as you describe.
  18. Do you put it inside the mag bodies as well?
  19. To be clear...my photo was last years Area 8. I only posted it because I thought the same thing when I was watching thw 2019 Area 8 match before I even left for this years Area 8.
  20. I shot this stage in the same manner and didn’t notice the RO too close. Unfortunately my gopro was aiming at my chest for this stage so no video. right behind the fault lines was a barrier about 3-4 feet wide which kept you from standing in the 180 of the stage right next to it so it was a little tight for the RO’s. Funny before the match I was watching the 2019 Area 8 and snapped this pic, asked my buddies “would you stand there?”
  21. Those grips aren't custom theyre the new line of brass grips that add weight. I'm not a fan of the color myself. I know someone who took a brand new pair of the brass grips and put silcone carbide on them. He likes them now.
  22. S2 do not have the bumps at the top....the S1 grips do. But both interchange...I run S2 grips on my S1. Speedracer you could have contacted them and they wouldve taken care of you.
  23. Ive never shot a multi day match, all my bug matches have been one day format. I don't look at any results until I'm done shooting the match. I'm not at a level where it would matter. Ben actually talks about this in his new book. He figures out scores as he goes and figures out what he needs to do.
