  1. I thought about getting a nice shooting jersey but can’t get past the 90+ price tag. I can get a moisture wicking T-shirt at Walmart for $10. I also feel if you have a fancy jersey, ppl expect a certain level of performance out of ya.
I did just grab a “go fast don’t suck” shirt with my name on the back. Easier for the RO’s to verify they have the correct shooter.
Shorts 90% of the year, knock off trail running shoes.
I always wear a hat but also keeps my brass off my head.

  2. Im just getting in to the dot game myself, but Im not sure I can afford it!  Most of the competition guys Ive talked with agree you need at least 3.  One on the gun, one as backup, and one that is off for repair/replacement.  Best backup is to have it mounted and sighted in on a backup slide. I don't have the budget for that so not sure how long I'll play the optics game.

  3. It’s getting cold up here in the Northeast but we try to shoot all year.

Anybody use use battery powered heated vests?

There are are so many out there but the majority seem like cheap Chinese stuff.

    Anybody have any advice/input?

  4. Just getting into to USPSA (been doing IDPA for 3 years) I did a qualifier match with 24 stages last weekend. I was kind of bummed to only make D. (I’m a SS in IDPA) My local match this weekend had no D class  shooters, all C and above. I was discouraged, I was wondering if everyone was a better shot than me. I guess this thread can make me feel a little better.

  5. Hello everyone, new guy from CT, the northeast corner.

Ive been shooting IDPA about 3 years now.

I’ve done a couple USPSA matches and looking to get into it more.

I wouldnt say say I like one more than the other, depends on what I’m in the mood for!

  6. I got a pair of the pacific trail from Sierra trading post.

$30 and they were comfortable. Seem well built.

The edges aren’t as sharp but I’ve been wearing them on asphalt and stuff too.

For $30 I’d buy another pair without hesitation.

You didn't mention which gun system you're trying to outfit. I was lucky, I shoot XDm and they come with cheesy mag holders and a holster. Got me through my first couple of matches. When my son took it up, we got some relatively cheap holders from Safariland that work for double stack mags. For a second belt for my revolver stuff, I went with Midway house brand. A cheap knock off of the DAA inner/ outer Velcro design. Again, works for less than half the cost. Good luck! You'll find this sport has all kinds of creative ways to spend your money...

I had mentioned it was for a Glock 34 in production.

I have done a couple matches using my IDPA setup which is just a normal gun belt with paddle holster and a couple Blackhawk double mag pouches.

I’m thinking I may get more serious so am looking for a USPSA specific belt system.

I’ll check out Midway thank you!

I have also posted to our local Facebook group that I’m looking for a setup, maybe I’ll get a few bites.

    Thanks guys!

Anyone in here shooting USPSA in Mass this Sunday? ??

  8. I have an explorer, don’t remember exactly which model. It’s big and heavy but I like bringing lots of stuff with me.

Its a nice thing there are so many options out there now.

Its funny at the big matches some guys have carts with 2 bags and I’ve seen guys with a 2 gallon bucket with some ammo in it.

    Whatever works best for you!

  9. +1 for GoPro session. Got it for $99 refurbished right from GoPro with same warranty as new.

Have a hat with built in mount that I got on amazon for $10.

POV is good to see your grip, but really it’s more for making cool vids for others to watch. No reason you can’t do both, shoot the POV and have someone tape with your phone.

Also +1 on the portrait mode shooting, that drives me nuts!

  10. Hey guys,

Just getting into USPSA, do mostly IDPA now.

Looking for recommendations for a budget belt setup. Glock 34 in production class.

I was surprised there is not a bigger used market market for this kind of stuff.

Many suggestions on where to look or begins are appreciated! (I checked the usuals EBay and the forums here)
