  1. I run Akai as well. I have 2 of their open guns. The one I had built took 7 months. I also bought one that an Akai team member had used for a season so the turnaround was just sending a check. They generally have a small inventory, but may not have what you are looking for ready. There are other great builders, but I have personally been very happy with Akai.
  2. several guys that I shoot with are shooting 9 major. if you want to shoot major, and for what it's worth i think you should and you are set up to reload 9, just go 9 major. I shoot an Akai open gun in 38 super comp and love it. those guns just run. watch some of the Akai videos on YouTube, Shey does a great job of explaining why they build them the way they do. you could get a limited gun in 9 major and load down for steel, 3 gun or whatever. i have 3 STI's, so i like STI, but Akai is on another level. the cost is not a lot different and you can get exactly what you what built in 4-6 months. The Atlas guns and great as well from what i hear.
  3. How do you determine which stages those are? On a stage recently i had 26 alpha on a 26 shot stage and got beat by a guy with some C's, a D, and a mike. He ran it faster. Where is the line ? Is it based on points available or design of the stage or something else?
  4. I'm new to the whole USPSA thing and I'm 60 years old. I've been a little concerned about the very same thing happening. I'm using a Double Algha Racemaster holster. I'm sure not setting any speed records and just shooting C. I appreciate you sharing your experience. It was a great reminder to me. i'd rather finish in the bottom half and get to take all of my fingers and toes home with me. I hope your recovery is a quick one.
  5. I had to use red to get them to stay tight. I never lost one but the mount kept getting loose. Blue didn't hold mine. I had to use red.
