  1. Just curious if anyone is running 1050 with MrB with the powder check and the 2 in 1 bullet seat/crimp die?? and how well does it work, or not!!!
  2. Thanks! just trying to help, but I will use PM in the future. JD
  3. Jim Dillon just got a 1050 and had the same problem. Hard to explain in post. JD I will try to explain, you probably have a primer caught sideways in the primer seating mec. Loosen the ratchet safety turn to the side and raise it up the primer tube to get it out of the way. Find something thin and flat about an inch wide and as you loosen the 2 bolts on the primer tube slide it under to stop the primers from all coming out all over the place ( ask me how I know this). Once you get the once you get the primer tube off, you can take out the primer slide block and see what is causing the problem, I is probably a primer that is stuck sideways, mine was all crushed and causing it to spit out primers. Also check check the blue peace on the bottom of the inside primer tube, make sure it is not crushed or distorted in any way!!! If it doesn't look rite, just replace it. JD
  4. I have loaded several different loads for the SFX. I mainly shoot Bayou 147FN, 3.0gr Tite Group, 1.149 oal. they shoot great. I have loaded 125rn Summer's 3.30gr Tite Group, 1.149oal and they seem to shoot fine. I am shooting the SFX with the stock spring. I have found that with the 124/125 bullets you have to increase the powder to 3.25+ The best thing to do is load up some rnds and try them. I have found 145/147s shoot OK with 3.0gr and the 124/125s shoot OK with 3.25+gr of Tite Group. All of those bullets are coated!! The plated that I have tried needed a little more powder than the coated. You can contact me with a PM if you need more info. JD
  5. I just got a 1050 used and mine runs OK but I don't have any instructions, I'm sure I can get them on line. But let me ask, where is the clutch adjustment? Thanks, JD
  6. What about some kind of a time delay before it starts to fill the tube? Is there something available like that and would it be more cost effective? Just wondering. JD
  7. Is that a simple added switch and some wires?? I'm not that good at wiring and switches but it seems that it could be done fairly easy? I would really like to do that to mine. It a pain, that thing running on every pull. Come on guys, some one figure it out and give us a solution. JD
  8. Sorry!! don't understand how this got in here.
  9. I know the S2 can be converted to CO but it has to be lightened and the slide cut to get to the weight. I want to know if there are any other CZ's that would make a good CO gun. And has anyone convert any other CZ and if so, how do they like them. JD
  10. Shadow2, love the gun. But would like to put together a CO gun. Just wondering if there would be something else from CZ suited for CO? JD
  11. Interested in which gun would make to best Carry Optic's, plan on sending it to CGW or CZ Custom? Appreciate any thoughts! Would like to hear from those of you that have CZ"s and are using them for Carry Optic's. Along with any other thoughts from others.
  12. Congrats!! the gun looks great. Still trying to decide. JD
  13. I put in the Dillon dies today and they work great and the press seems to run better and the OAL seems to be much more consistent. JD
  14. I purchased a small 1/2X36 to 1/2X28 adapter and it works great on the AR's. And you are correct, I am using a pistol can. JD
  15. Thought I would pass this along. I found these LED lights at Lowe's for $20.00 one has a spring clamp that works great on my 1050 and the other has a weighted base that works great on both presses. Here are some pictures. I know there are many lights made for the presses but these seem to work best for me. JD
  16. Glad you are happy with the S2 I got mine about a year ago and never looked back. I have arthritis in my right wrist and the weight of the gun really helps to reduce the recoil. And the gun seems to like almost any reload. Good looking range vist!!! JD
  17. I used this one: Let me know if liked it! JD
  18. Just thought I would pass this along, I'm sure I am not the first with this idea. I was going to make a bracket to hold the case feeder back to stop feeding when doing setups on the press! Then I happened to put a 9mm brass in the slot and it works great to solve the problem. JD
  19. I just got a 1050 and it was very dry when I received it. So after getting it all setup and running. I watched the youtube video of the guy that disassembles it and lubes it and puts it back together!! It was great. I confirmed with Dillon that the things and lubes in the video were the right things to use. Yesterday I tore it down cleaned all of the parts and lubed and greased it all up as per the video. What a difference!!! it really runs smooth now. And I now know how everything works, along with knowing how to get the thing apart and back together. By the way it only took about 1.5 hours. JD
  20. That may be my only option anyway! I juat bought a 1050 and it has limited room for a mini or anything similaron the tool head, because I want to continue to run the powder check for the time being. It also has limited room directly above the tool head because of the case feeder. So I have to do some checking to see what will fit. JD
  21. I do lube all of my cases and I have double checked and it is the Lee final crimp die that is causing the clunk. And I have found the same thing with the keyholing, although I have not shot enough of these loads to confirm it, I do think that may happen, do the the fact that I load and shoot mainly coated bullets. I am going to try the Dillon dies before sending back the Lee's but I have been loading these same loads with my Square Deal B with Dillon dies and havn't had any problems. Thanks for all of the feed back, I will let you know how things work out. JD
