RL1050 toolheads on a CP2000
MJC082581 replied to slavex's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
FYI, I was one of the testers for the reamer. On the CP, to run it in the 2nd swage station, I had to modify the case feeder supports and output bin bracket due to the sensor housing not clearing in there. I’ve since reverted back to doing it in the first station so I can’t take pics -
Try reaching out to Mark at Immortobot. He may know where to get one or can even possibly build you one. He’s pretty good at that stuff
-
None to my knowledge. I’ve got a 930 as well. They, just like everyone else, are most likely running behind. Did you try using their contact them link?

SDB 9mm carbide ring came out

Call up Dillon. They will take care of you. It happens more then you think with their carbide dies -
Retirement Gift for the Sarge

Having owned both, 1100. Much smoother machine in my opinion. Unless he loads rounds bigger then 308, I would go 1100. If he loads 30-06 on a progressive then 1050 is the way to go. -
You should be ok. I would load up maybe 10, take them to the range, shoot controlled (not competition), and inspect the cases after. I’ve over tumbled brass and shot major out of them with no problems. I think the worry is if they were sitting in the lemishine for over a day. Then deterioration may happen.

Definitely sounds like primer drawback or the die is not set properly. When using the RCBS, try adjusting the pin further down. You can’t do that on the Dillon die. Also, try cutting a 45 degree angle on the tip then smooth up the edges. This has worked for me in the past. If you wanted to switch to a universal decapper, look into the FW Arms popper die. It’s the best out there and you will never have drawback issues again
-
I haven’t used them in a while due to availability but they’re great. I never had any issues with them. I find them comparable to CCI’s
-
Load and unload them 5 or 6 times. In the last one, leave them loaded for a week or so. Should help a little
-
I had this happen to me. I was bumping the slide lock. Worked on the grip and went away. I never had OAL issues cause this but good to know it can

I was in the same boat. I like the smaller footprint of the Athena so that's what I ordered. I played around with my buddies Hyperion, which is basically an Athena but doesn't have the dot option, and I fell in love with it.

I like it a lot. I’m definitely stealing that idea. I was literally thinking of what to use a few days ago and this seems perfect

I like that idea with the little catch tubes for the case feeder debris!! Are they just Velcro’d on there?

.223 issues with 1050.

You can get a few thousands taken off the bottom of the die which will allow you to get it further down without having to over cam the press -

As most said, you need to mash that sizing die into the shell plate. Some also mentioned shaving the die. I’ve done that method and it works great. However, if you go that route, make sure you are taking measurements when you set it up. If you take too much off the die, and set it up like a normal sizing die, you can over size the brass -
I’ve tried a few different ear pro options. Sure fires, 3M’s, custom molds, etc. I got the Otto’s last year abs wish I did it sooner. They are, in my opinion, the best out there. Small footprint, 2 levels of dB reduction, and the charging system is similar to AirPods (charge the case and the case charges the ear pro). Higher price tag then most but I bought once and won’t look back.

I really think Dillon bit off more than they can chew. They were given a working product and it still took them 2 years to “release” and they haven’t even done that. They basically teased it. Then the whole sensor debacle. It’s just annoying
-
I run a Steadfast setup. Unfortunately, he’s only really on Facebook but he does great work. Pricing was decent too. I got the holster and 3 mag pouches (no attachments on anything) for just under $150
-
Yea. Once I started roll sizing them it took care of everything around the base and no longer have to mash the sizing die into the shell plate lol
-
9mm, 40, 45, and 223/300 I figured I have the machine so why not do all them. Yea, it may add a little more time but the brass comes out great and gauges every time.

2011 build, looking for some advice on mags...
MJC082581 replied to Lowlander's topic in 1911-style Pistols
I have used both MBX and Atlas mags with no issues at all. 70% of the STI mags I've seen, or seen people run, need tuning. MBX and Atlas have been great out of the box. -
FA separator works well but the Dillon is much better due to its larger size. The Dillon is also a more solid design

Deprime/resize dies for automated 1050

FW Arms popper die for decapping and any sizing die will work. Lee, Dillon, Redding, etc. -
I would definitely go a 750 over a 650. They upgraded it for a reason.
