I've been using 2 different dots for over 2 years now. Between the guns I've easily put 11,000 rounds thru . I've not had a problem with either sight . I suppose it happens . But .....I'm see more and more no Rears in setups I would guess once closed systems are perfected the Rear backup will vanish . Or be an either or . On a competition gun I see no use for them . And in EDC I feel that way about the dots

Anyone using Freedom Munitions 9mm stuff
Rickenbacker53 replied to Rickenbacker53's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Good to know . It looks bigger then it handles . I am pretty sure he did something with the bolt already. Thought about selling it and using the money towards an MPX . Butttttt Lots more $$$$$ . -
Anyone using Freedom Munitions 9mm stuff
Rickenbacker53 replied to Rickenbacker53's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Wow with that many issues in so many different platforms . Are you sure it wasn't user error? Do you have a big lawsuit going ? I sure would . Seems I remember they had some issues in the past . This stuff is all from when they put the bullets in those plastic holders for each box . I've already tried it in some pistols . I've read some negative comments but tend to question some of them . The Internet is great for info. Unfortunately there are always many who just make incorrect info . Just because that's what they live to do . Especially when someone says they had issues in every gun lol . -
If you mean for self defense . 9mm will work well . As for 16 Inch being to clumsy . That's nonsense . Besides you may wish before to much longer , you have every source of firepower you get lay your hands on . You wouldn't get much for it to sell it . I just found several places selling the latest 3+ models for $780.00 . So maybe you'd get $500.00 .. May as well keep it just in case

I just inherited roughly 8,000 rounds of 124 gr and 115 grain Freedom Munitions . There's round nose and JHP . I'm guessing it's about 10 years or so old. I remember when he bought most of it . Sadly he got to sick to use it and left it to me when he recently passed . Seems like a good stock pile to start competition with . He also left me a Scorpion Carbine that he picked up just prior to covid . I thought I'd start with that and see if I enjoy the competition enough to invest in something like an MPX , JP or CMMG . In the meantime time . The Trigger in this scorpion is pretty heavy. Does the Timney drop it help much. I can't seem to find any info on how it works in the Scorpions .

Safariland ALS 7TS Series with suppressor HT Sights
Rickenbacker53 replied to Rickenbacker53's topic in Gear & Accessories
It's a FN 509 Tactical Which are pretty Tall suppressor sights : I actually tried a 7378 with light but it was for a Glock. So it's impossible to really tell : + -
PLEASE NOTE: I need a Security Holster : Safailand ALS in the 7TS fits the Bill. I have looked at Blade Tech Comptac etc using the WRS system. Which is a last resort : Specifically wanting Info on the Safariland 7TS : I called CS at Safariland and Still didn't get a decent answer : It would depend on your setup is not an answer. DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE : If the Safariland ALS 7TS Holster line : 7376,7378,7395 etc . Work withe suppressor Height sights. I have searched google : I am sure Holster Ops could answer but they are offline for a Few months : So if anyone has actual experience Please speak up. Thanks Worse case is my gun is shooting low So I could install a lower sight on the front if Need be.
-
Definitely do so if it doesn't arrive : That's one thing they are good for : Good luck

DID YOU happen to Use Paypal? I asked because I had a similar problem with Rexfirearms on a $22.00 part. They claimed it was lost in Transit. So I complained to Paypal and got my $$ the same day >
-
SO Shorten Pull and Reset ?? Or just reset?
-
It appears the Lost FF Trigger Shoes are still Missing in action : Which doesn't add up at all : Something isn't exactly 100% with what REX is allowing us to know.
-
Apparently the Straight Triggers were Never recovered? Disappointing for sure
-
Yeah I am sure it does. Not blaming you : What's unfortunate in Today's world is Nobody ever takes responsibility for screwing up. Hopefully they found them.
-
Lost the triggers?? LOL That sounds odd .
-
So I got it straight from FIME that Rex Zero 1 Tactical Compacts are in Country as of Monday : Should be shipping in 10 days or so. So maybe we'll see a Trigger soon
-
l don't see the picture of a firing block in the Alpha
-
Maybe they do Because I am debating on Selling I haven't taken it apart : Although not sure why you'd even want the reset Shorter
-
To bad I didn't know you wanted an alpha I have a Brand New one : I haven't even fired a full mag thru : I love the gun But shouldn't have bought it : I'm in security and the Alpha is at the very least a beautifully made range toy : To answer your question No the parts in the alpha aren't quite the same. There's no Firing Pin block . Changing the Hammer strut spring is child's play. The Rex Zero 1 was not for the average guy who has no clue of how to take a weapon apart. You can polish the Strut and Trigger bar : Should I decide to keep the Alpha that's what I will do. The only other thing would be the Straight Trigger when they are available. IMO I'm not sure Straight Triggers benefit that much. I have a Sig 320 that I purchased a Grayguns completion Trigger kit for. They have been Out of the version with a straight Trigger for ages . So I purchased the Curved Trigger one to get the 3.75 Trigger pull. Afterward I got my hands on the straight Trigger : There was no difference performance speaking. For competition I can see them For Security or HD IMO not needed. Maybe not even wise : JMPO
-
I polished the Trigger bar(side against Frame) Polished the hammer strut and installed a competition Spring Kit . Last I took a limited amount of materiel off the Firing Pin Block(Making reset much shorter)
-
Which mount is being used to attach RDS to Alpha :
-
I looked and didn't see the Unit cost Do you know ?? Excuse all the questions
-
And the tuned trigger should be here by end of August? Will they have enough to last more then an hour or 2?
-
Gotta disagree with you there. Too light of a hammer spring will most definitely cause light strikes with certain primers. On my Shadow 2 I use an 11.5lb hammer spring which, when combined with a reduced power firing pin and spring gives me a SA pull weight of 2.5lbs & DA 6lbs. Anything lighter, like an 8.5 spring will give light strikes and must be used with Federal Primers. My remarks were in regards to the Arex line of Pistols : I don't do the competition shooting anymore. That was never my thing : I do appreciate the skill required to participate
-
You shouldn't be getting light strikes on brass cased ammo of any sort : I have had that issue with steel and poly cased ammo but never brass. My Arex Rex Zero 1 Tactical has a lighter Trigger then my New Alpha. Because I have messed around with it . THe DA is lighter then what the Alpha comes from the Factory like. No primer issues at all.

Took possession of Alpha on Friday. Have only shot one mag so far . Used one of my Rex Zero 1 Magazines. Extremely quick to pick up the sights (BOTH EYES OPEN). Gun balances and recoil as stated by others is almost null. I haven't modified the springs yet. DA is very close to the REX Zero 1 (After installed competition springs) I used My Ghost Holster I use for My REX Tactical and it fit with little if any adjustment. Looking forward to FF Trigger Mods Becoming available soon.
