Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I had several people at a match tell me that "you should try blacking out the rear sight" -- this was on my M&P that i have the Speed Sights installed on. They were saying it allows you to focus more on the front and the "old eyes" would work better. So, we walked over to the safe table and I said, "here, sight this...." after one quick movement to sight it, they both were like "wow". So, i got the questions of where did i get them and they popped it into their phones. I've been hoping that the Speed Sight group would make an adapter plate to be able to put their rear sight into. Either way, it forms a "tight" picture but since they are diamonds you actually still can see between them, but, the diamonds naturally line up. I miss shooting my XD(m), but these sights really up my game in fast action shooting -- but, that may also be due to how new I am to the sport.
  2. I'm the opposite.... I think i'd rather be a low B. My thought here is it pushes me to get out of the basement and start pushing to the next level. If you are a high any class, then why are you loitering around. Being at the bottom tends to push people mentally -- no one likes being last, even if it is in the GM class. Plus, shooting a match and seeing folks that are in lower classes do better really makes me focus and do what it takes to get better. Need to have goals and just sitting at the top of one class is ... just sitting. Quit sand bagging and step up your game! Ok, now i need to take my own advice....
  3. My issue is i want to change out the rear (and front) but due to how the rear is built we seem to be stuck. I know Springer Precision has a piece they use that is used to upgrade to CO, but I just want some different sights. I'm one of the different ones and like something on the rear sight -- specifically the SpeedSights. It may be because i'm relatively new, but they have really upped my game on an M&P, so much so that I don't shoot my XDM Comp hardly at all.
  4. Interesting thread.... I have the M&P 2.0 with the 4.25" and use it for both IDPA and USPSA. I'm relatively new but hold my own. I also have an XD(m) Competition with the 5.25" barrel. I started using the M&P a few months back because it just felt "quicker" in my hands. It almost feels like a sports car vs a truck. I know the other option is for the M&P with the 5" barrel and honestly, i'm wanting one. But, i'm concerned it will have that big truck feel compared to what I get with the 4.25" version. As was noted by someone, i will probably just get one anyway based on the cost -- really reasonable. I have been very happy with the performance and results, so hard to switch from something that is really working well. I just wish they (S&W) would have made it a 1/4" shorter so that it would fit in the CCP box.
  5. Old thread.... but new to the forum. This thread caught my attention and is one of many reasons I have joined it. I have been reloading shotgun and we (son and I) started shooting the various pistol matches. Buying the ammo is getting pricey, so we have started throwing money into a jar every time we make an order for ammo. Once we have enough, the 650 will be going on order. I have actually been to the Dillon site and built it out a couple times. Good thing is, once I get one, get it dialed in, i can sit back, have a beer, and watch the boy do the work! Looking forward to contributing to the forum!
