Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I can do 0.2-0.3 split on close target. Anything beyond 10 meter I probably need 0.4 - 0.6 to get consistent Alpha. There isnt too many IPSC shooter in my town. Total perhaps 20-30 guys. All of them advocate ambush but of course most of them dont get good hit on difficult targets, except 1 A class and 1 GM guy who could ambush swinger with good Alpha hits... True to what you say. I dont feel comfortable double tapping swinger even at its momentary stop as I could not have proper sight picture on the second shot.
  2. Swinger is my devil in a match. I too need some advice Everyone around me advise me to ambush. But I would have 10% chance of even hitting the target at 10 yards or more. If there is dwelling point, everyone told me to double tap. With my production cz shadow 2 and current setup there isnt just enough time to properly double tap. I tried tracking and I could get good A hits. Problem is I went to a match where swingers are covered most at its arch of swing. Basically I could only engaged at its dwelling point. My score suffered so much with C/M. So do you guys train shooting swinger in two methods? one by tracking and ambushing. In my case tracking doesnt always work in certain stage design.
  3. Just watched cha lee video on transition drill. I think I have a lot to work on.
  4. Can someone share what their transition? so I could have a goal to aim. I am the only guy doing IPSC at my current shooting range. Thus practically no one to compare as others are just simply doin static target shooting
  5. I am new shooter and trying to improve my transition. Tried BEnos Transition drill. transition time is around 0.5-0.6 for all alpha. So total time for 9 shots are still around 8 s. not sure what his part 2 is as he is not yet replying yet. What is the correct eye focus: 1. Call the shot 2. Find next target 3. Magically by feeling waiting for your sight to appear on target? or 3. Track your sight to your target
  6. I used bob's grip when started shooting. It didnt work for me. Occasionally I get good sight return. So i might be missing something. Currently use standard grip, and it gives me consistent sight return. However i still use torque in on both hand when shooting 30 yards or more, especially round steel target. It sort of stopping that front sight wobble which is critical for 30 yards target.
