  1. Since I bought the awesome Taccom3 buffer system, I have the same deal going. The bolt slides back without effort until it doesn't ! It's not really hard to lock it back manually, but I never hit the lever and sent it. I felt there was more pressure on the bolt than was probably good for it or the barrel extension if this was done many times over. One match with it so far and the RO was more than happy to help out with the flag. Sooner or later that will not be the case and I will lock it back but let it forward with help. Now every start is basically and unloaded start, just not on the clock.
  2. If you were referring to my post I did it to add weight, not save weight.
  3. Thanks for the instructional and also the heads up on who to follow, yourself included ! I'm gonna dig this Instagram thing, the speech balloon makes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more sense than a button that says "post" !
  4. Account set up ! One question, How do you post a comment ? I tried to say something clever about one of you pics but there was no post button ??????????????????????
  5. Thank you for the info ! As much as I try to avoid all the " social media" stuff, I will try to set up an Instagram acct and see what you have to say !
  6. The first comp on my PCC gun was an aluminum one I made, it weighs 338.2gr, in your hand or on the gun it feels like nothing. I have since made one out of steel for the shiny factor and a little added weight out at the end of the barrel. That one also feels like nothing but it is heavier than the aluminum one.
  7. 3.0gr Clays, 3.5gr Universal, 5.0gr IMR 4756. I just checked all three last Saturday with my chronograph. All three are nice to shoot and pass the popper test: knock down a pepper popper at 50yds. All were also around a 130ish pf. Also I am using an Xtreme 115gr RN bullet. I didn't try any on paper at distance but all would work just fine for a club match or better. I would not be the least bit nervous to have any of them chrono checked at a match. For the Lucas Oil match next year we will up it a little, I saw a few videos of the poker chip targets. A VERY flat trajectory would be desirable in that situation!
  8. This may be a bit off topic but it fits close enough. I have a brand spanking new pound of Power Pistol. Has anyone come up with a decent 115gr load that doesn't beat the s**t out of you? There doesn't seem to be much load data and what I have found is not very encouraging, just thought I would ask.
  9. I was wondering what happened, his time was good and appeared to be total so I didn't figure a gun problem. Were these stages published anywhere ? I had been watching the Lucas Oil website but it just says " stages coming soon".
  10. If anyone was paying attention Max Leograndis won the Lucas Oil PCC match this weekend. I know he posts here because I saw a bunch of older stuff from him brought up on the JP short stroke thread. He provided pics and some really good info, congrats Max ! I know a few others here were going, how did you do and any good stories ?
  11. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, makes sense now ! I thought maybe you were one of the guys who physics didn't apply to, I get it ! Thanks for the good info !
  12. If I understand this correctly, the question is you are not allowed to take the laser on and off your gun during a match? Would you take your 45* mounted dot on and off of your gun if you didn't need it for a particular stage ? A laser, just like a dot or a scope has to be zeroed to the rifle. As far as any laser I have ever seen, you screw or clamp them on to something on your gun then you adjust the laser to your dot, kind of like bore sighting. Depending on your intent, further sighting will most likely be required. How would it be possible to take it on and off during a match ? And if you could, the advantage would be ????????????????????????????????? As I said above, there are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many rules in USPSA and I believe this thread proves it !
  13. Nope! Do as you please, that is why the PCC division is such a blast. As someone who was out of this game for ten years or so, I got back in this year because someone figured out you could chamber an AR15 in 9mm. I saw that and it was game on ! In all seriousness, as a former CRO, there are WAAAAAAAAY too many rules in USPSA! I was questioned about the sights on my SS gun at the SSC this year. Mind you, I mentioned I was out of the game a long time. I went to the SSC every year in the late 90's and early 00's, with the same gun! They called the RM ( Jay Worden, who also was the instructor for my CRO stuff) and it took him at least 7 or 8 minutes of reading, paging forward and back, thinking and reasoning to come to the conclusion my sights were fine. I told him it was ridiculous that it takes that much reading to come to a conclusion that 5 out of ten other RM'S may well disagree with. He agreed with me. Keep it safe, and USPSA does a GREAT job of this. Basic mag capacity rules are fine, the box is stupid. The PF should also be lower, 9 major is probably not a real good idea. Keep the divisions even equipment wise and let people have at it! You still have to hit each paper target twice and you get a certain amount of points depending on where you hit said target. That IS the bottom line of this sport. Where the holster resides in relation to your hip or if the mag is in your pocket or on your belt doesn't put a single hole in a target.
  14. I wish my stuff was that close ! I just finished up 1000 rounds of hand loaded ammo I thought was great until I got my chrono out of the closet and actually used it again. I posted a bunch of data on the JP short stroke thread last weekend with my findings. My loads through the PCC were 200 to almost 300 fps faster than published. I also took my M&P to verify. What I thought were nice rounds were actually much faster and more punishing ( read felt recoil and dot movement) than necessary. When I first started my PCC journey this last March I worked up a few loads with different weight bullets and Titegroup. I found it to be very consistent round to round but noticeably snappy.
  15. I checked some of my reloads that were SUPPOSED to be a 115gr RN traveling along at 1120fps. Out of a handgun, yep. Out of a PCC, 1380fps! That is almost major, a bit under a 159pf. I agree 100%, it was punishing when compared to proper velocity loads, 130-135pf.
  16. I just chrono checked 3 different loads tonight. 3.0gr Clays, 4.0 Universal, 4.5 of IMR 4756. 115gr RN bullet from Xtreme. Have to up the IMR a half grain, down with the Universal a half grain and the 3.0 of Clays was perfect, 5 rounds were between 1080 and 1110. Gonna tweak the tweakable and load 10 with the Clays and really focus on dot and recoil.
  17. I just got some bullets a few days ago, 4000 115's from Xtreme. My target exactly, 115's about 1100fps. I have 3 different loads ready for the chrono. I just shot the last of my 147's that were doing about 875fps. The range maintenance guy on Sunday asked me if it was suppressed !
  18. Great info from all and much appreciated. A friend of mine has the C More on his open gun, so I am going to commandeer it next week and play with it, how much depends on how much ammo he gives me ! I think I can also get a hold of a 510C to try on for size.
  19. I shot my first match Sunday with my new Taccom3 buffer system, it was awesome! What would a wave spring do to make it better. The way it is now the bolt will lock back manually( the gun never had LRBHO) but not by much. Truthfully I guess it really doesn't need to . Up until Sunday I would lock the bolt back, put the mag in and send it, when it was a loaded start. Sunday I just put the mag in and chambered a round, much less effort than before. I still had one mag issue with the mag I have had problems with since I started. It is a Glock big stick with a TF +10. Every so often it hangs up. On Sunday I fired two rounds before it hung up. Jack three rounds on the ground, waste 10 seconds trying to make it go, suck ass on the stage. I've had the follower out twice for sanding the back/bottom edge round, good for a bit then problems again. I did a Maxmundo throat job on my barrel extention tonight, that should help? Oh yeah, the wave spring, need one or not ?
  20. I appreciate the input, lots to think about.
  21. I had an E O Tech on an AR a few years ago. It was heavy and overpriced, but you could also drive a semi over it and still use it. I don't plan on driving a semi over my PCC gun, so I am looking elsewhere. Part of me says the dot in circle would be sweet to hit short distance targets faster and be able to dial in on farther targets with the dot. The other part says there is a reason open guys have ben using that very C More for at least twenty years. Big dot, keep it simple. Two other questions on the C More.................. 1- Is the Aluminum body worth the extra money? I don't shoot 3 gun with my PCC so it doesn't get dumped in a barrel or anywhere else, but I'm sure the AL is more durable. 2- If you get the sight with the 8moa dot and buy the extra 2moa diode, can you swap out between stages without losing your zero ?
  22. How do you like it and how is it in the sunshine? I watched a few you tube vids and it seemed when the dude was using the circle with the dot in the bright sun it all kind of washed together into one huge circle. I realize that was a video of it so I am asking. I was thinking about upgrading my dot when this season is over. I currently have a Bushnell AR Optic TR-25. I have zero complaints and it seems to work just fine, as long as the battery is good. With the red glasses I wear the dot is usable in the bright sun, but brighter would be sweet. I would imagine it would be tough to find anyone here who would say his ( or her) dot is way too bright in the sun and wishes it was dimmer. I was going back and forth between the Holosun 510C and the C More railway. The consensus opinion seems to be the reflex gives you better vision of the stage than a tube style dot ? Feel free to chime in.
  23. It sounds like we are traveling the same road. Smooth as silk and soft as a baby's bottom sounds a lot like what I was describing. I did add the trigger into the mix, but I would guess yours also is not a gravel laden 6.5#mil spec POS ?
  24. Thank you! Go a few posts up and I explained what I all did when I chronographed my ammo. I was surprised it was THAT much faster out of the rifle, but it was. PS..................... I love your screen name and avatar. That show was BAD ASS, as was Raylon, and it ended at least three seasons too early !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
