  1. Taccom also makes these extensions..... https://taccom3g.com/product/light-weight-barrel-extension/ So if you get a 10.5" barrel, you can make it 16 with those. But then you may not get the muzzle brake effect you're looking for...if there is any.
  2. Roscoe makes a 14.5" barrel that looks too be a slimmer profile, only 17 oz....but it looks to be out of stock, darnit! https://www.roscomanufacturing.com/shop/blood-line-barrels/bloodline-14-5-9mm/ Also sorry, the one I have is a 10.5"...that 13.5" one will be even heavier!
  3. I have fixed Magpul stocks on both my 5.56 and PCC. Just makes it easier to deal with and removes one 'scary' feature for nearby states that have restrictions. If anyone needs a Mission First collapsible, let me know I have an extra.
  4. I do have one of these that I made for a 'short' 9MM upper build. It works and shoots great.....but it is pretty heavy, even though it is short and I have an aluminum linear comp on the end. Looking back, I probably should have gotten a more normal or even pencil profile to keep the weight down. My Current PCC for competition has a featherlight Taccom carbon fiber barrel.
  5. Kynshot RB5000 Hydraulic (their standard carbine unit) and a .308 carbine spring. I tried a regular carbine buffer with various weights but liked they hydraulic better. It seemed to 'slam' less when coming back.
  6. I mean to the point where it's not 150-such coming out of a longer barrel with factory ammo.
  7. Yeah, just the other day I was recommended some 124 subsonic....Federal, I think. I tried a lot of different combos and liked this one the best with 115 Blazer Brass which I can get locally in bulk for a good price (basically same as ordering bulk online). Again, if getting LRBHO wasn't something I cared about I might look at things differently. But this does allow it, and with what's basically a carbine buffer that's somewhere between an H1 and H2, the overall travel/timing is something I like out of the combos I've tried....it's kind of like a short stroke but gets far enough back to lock the bolt, if you will. I haven't tried removing the BCG weight yet. As I mentioned way back, yep loading down is the key to really getting the thing down to that flat-shooting 'hose'. But since I don't handload (yet) I try to get the best combo for what I do shoot. So I liked the feel of the wave spring compared to an actual spacer or stack of quarters. Barrel is a 13.5" Taccom Lightweight Tensioned Carbon Fiber with a pinned brake to make 16". When I tried the 124-gr stuff I get from Freedom...even though it feels softer than 115-grs from my pistols that I use for USPSA and steel, in the PCC it felt like it was under water, just a slower rounder cycle with more lift. So the Blazer 115 for me is less harsh than stuff like WWB or UMC or S&B but I get the quicker cycle so not as much muzzle lift. m I'm still pretty new at this so working my way in.....may eventually have to get into hand loading if I do more competitions with the PPC. So far just some local stuff.
  8. Not really meant as a solution to anything, but they do act much like a synthetic spacer that some use in the back of the buffer spring, but with some more 'cushioning' at the rear most travel, since I don't handload. Also, I do want last round hold open, since in my state we're limited to ten round per mag and often do mag changes (the Sten Defense adapter has LRBHO), so with my buffer setup, the little bit of give in the wave spring helps insure that the bolt will hold back. Essentially, I just like the overall feel and timing with this setup compared to others I've tried with the ammo I'm shooting.
  9. I use a wave spring and a single quarter to keep it from binding with the buffer spring. This is with a Kynshot hydraulic buffer, the regular carbine model.... https://www.amazon.com/Multiwave-Washers-Stainless-Spring-Capacity/dp/B0085ZOZFI/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0085ZOZFI&pd_rd_r=a91a6835-eaf4-11e8-aea6-e10ad1dcec26&pd_rd_w=tAZYO&pd_rd_wg=gMKEI&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=6725dbd6-9917-451d-beba-16af7874e407&pf_rd_r=N3HX0JVDJKKBM97B8NCV&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=N3HX0JVDJKKBM97B8NCV Adds some cushioning when the buffer goes all the way back, but with the carbine-sized buffer I still get last round bolt hold open with a Stern Defense mag adapter.
  10. Yeah I was contemplating that but just keep it on. I actually got the riser for it to bring the height up a bit to lower-1/3 level, so that's even more weight, if only a bit. If I don't like the C-More on my PCC, I'll just go back to the Bushnell TR-26 that's on there now. The 510C seems to have found a home on the house-AR. Auto-motion-power-on is also a nice feature for that.
  11. That's not me, LOL! And I don't mean to bash it here, just a demo of the issues that were brought up a post before it. Like others have mentioned, I'd probably not use it for competition, but for range plinking it could certainly simplify things. Plus, as discussed a it earlier I'd have to somehow get 30-rd Mags and I live in a 10-rd restricted state. So I'll just stick with my Stern Defense adapter and pre-ban Glock Magazines.
  12. I have an Odinworks hand guard incoming, when I switch that out I'm going to give my C-More 6MOA a try. Only thing is it really doesn't seem to get that bright until it hits around 3:00 on the dial and then gets super-bright, and it's a little bit lower than most lower-1/3 dots I have so I'll see how it feels. But as far as dots go, it's the most crisp one of all my units. I have one of those for my home defense 5.56, but I'd probably find it on the big and heavy side for a competition PCC. I guess the big window makes up for it? I do like it though, as I would imagine I would like an Eotech as well on a defensive gun.
  13. Plus for those of us in restricted states, 30-rd-size P-Mags that only hold 10 res as opposed to 10-rd Glock 19 mags is quite a difference in size/bulk. I hope they come out with a 10-rd P-Mag version.
  14. Yeah, the more I looked into it that's what I gathered. Does it lock back after last round? Thx.
  15. Yeah 1/2" seems to be right at absolute co-winess (just talking height and comfort, not necessarily using iron sights), so there's a lot of 1/2" risers. I like that height for variable or magnified scopes for some extra stability when pressing my cheek way down. But for 1x and/or red dots, I'm faster with it at the lower-1/3 height.
  16. Can someone help explain how these would work with Magpul 10-rounders (I'm in CT), if they would at all? Thanks. Currently I use a Stern Defense converter, which works quite well and is very reliable with most Glock mags. But it would be nice to incorporate the same mag release as regular 5.56 mags.
  17. Must've got tired of all the winning.
  18. Like I mentioned before, a riser at around .8" will mount the Venom with the included pica tinny mount to around lower-1/3 cowitness height, a little lower than most mini-red-dots at lower-1/3, but about even wit the C-More Railway height. I prefer lower-1/3, so if you do as well something like this would be good for the Venom and its picatinny mount...... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M9JEBC8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  19. A .8 puts the Venom at almost lower-1/3 cowitness with backup irons, which is a height I'm most comfortable with on my red dots. It's also pretty much exactly the height of a C-More Railway red dot if you've ever tried that.
  20. Like Kneeling said, SA break will depend largely on the sear-to-hammer connection. The CGW T3 disco will still need enough fitting (removal of material on the inside of the 'hook') for the SA trigger to reset at all, and from there you can keep fitting for more pre travel. Unlike other disco's, it's not a drop-in part. As far as the angle marked #2, that can affect how far back (or how early) in the double-action pull the hammer falls, but also how reliably the single-acton trigger resets whilst keeping the reset short. It's sometimes a balancing act between how much material is removed from #1 and #2, and unfortunately easy to take off too much.
  21. It's the same, yeah. It works very well and when you turn it on its side to clamp the top and bottom in your vise, it's as solid as it gets. From mil spec to billet receivers.
  22. I use this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/NO-M-A-R-223-Upper-Receiver-Vise-Block-Armorers-Gunsmith-Barrel-Nut-Tool/123464747218?epid=1417692853&hash=item1cbf1288d2:g:2SYAAOSwT6pV3SD5:sc:ShippingMethodStandard!10010!US!-1:rk:1:pf:0 Clamps on both the bottom and top of the receiver so keeps the torque off either end exclusively. Works for a variety of forged and billet uppers, including those that may not properly fit the traditional 'clamshell'.
  23. 12-lb recoil springs...could probably drop to 11, but wanted the extra reliability. 11.5lb hammer springs.
