  1. Page 109 section 21.6 (carry optics in this case) states "Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, pins, extractors, magazine releases, slide stops, thumb safeties, triggers, hammers, bushings, and ejectors MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket part" and doesn't specify the profile of the part being replaced. For example I put a GoGun *thumb rest [generic]* on my X5 and it doesn't count as a thumb rest because it's a modified slide stop/release. You're not changing the core function of the component, only modifying it for ease of use in a way. As @MemphisMechanic has mentioned in this post (or another post that this mag button has been mentioned) some of these have carried over to Production as well. Just need a magwell to be in legal in CO and it'll be true poor mans open
  2. Sorry got my posts mixed up, it’s here but page 109 of the rule book mentions it
  3. Scroll up or last page, I posted a screenshot of the ruling. In short, yes.
  4. I probably should've read and replied to this more than 10 minutes after waking up. Yes the thread pitch you will need is the same as the R1 (6-48 as mentioned) just a little longer as you said (3/4"). What I meant to say originally is that the R1 screws won't work with the DPP because of length (as we've discussed) but also the head type - R1 uses a fillister head screw to clamp the optic down in the screw hole/pocket of the optic while the DPP uses a weaver oval head so the tapered head clamps down on the optic that way. Sorry for any confusion.
  5. Just pulled up my e-mail from L&M and yes 6-48. I'm on brownells right now and believe you'd want the 6-48 x 3/4" weaver oval head screws.
  6. And you need screws with the correct thread pitch but otherwise yes. i think the Romeo 1 screws are too fat. I posted sizes earlier in the thread.
  7. I haven’t bothered but yes. The L&M slide work opens up the optics pocket towards the chamber and will allow the R1 and rear iron to be used still.
  8. I have probably 400 rounds through it without an issue, I was finishing out the summer season with PCC and switching back over to CO next week. The hardware I’m referring to is the two screws L&M provide to mount the DPP. Mark said they’re a 6-48 screw from brownells although he’s seen some slides (I’m guessing the M17) require M4x0.7 screws.
  9. I have the same experience you posted in the video at least twice per match, if you saw some of my instagram videos (same username as here) you'll see some of the blatant hang ups/hiccups I'll have when going after some targets rather quickly - I thought I just still hadn't figured out the cadence for some reason. Curious if I should try a hiperfire, seems LOTS of pcc guys use them. I used to have an Elftmann and never had freeze but lots of failure to reset so I went CMC since I never has issues with them in my ARs.
  10. Wait, am I not insane in my recent issues of trigger freeze with my CMC thinking it was only mental? Not to hijack thread or change directions but I've noticed some lately but have had zero issues otherwise. Edit: just realized you meant this on Timney...did the good ol'read and reply without reading whole post
  11. It's legal because it's a modified slide release and not a stand alone rest. I saw an instagram post from @MemphisMechanic of an e-mail to Troy McManus and he said the GoGun pedal is legal.
  12. I’d say go with a 5007 and 308 carbine spring along with a new frontier spacer and adjust stroke with quarters behind spacer to avoid dents. Get a 308 rifle spring as well and play with different setups until you’re content. I’d say get the 2.56oz weight. PCC can difficult to tune to what you like but I say get everything all at once so you can go through your setups easily. Or give Brian at blitzkrieg a call and ask for his recommendation on your setup.
  13. @RaylanGivens my buffer is already here, that was quick. It looks like just the second set screw is the revision they made to it as you mentioned.
  14. I think I have a small amount of oil on it, it's the first version without the 3 flats and in a V7 buffer for a nice fit; Brian said if you don't have a really precise buffer, the older version can cause binding. I should have a better answer on the oiling but I installed it months ago and don't remember if I put any oil but I can say that when I took it out at the match Friday that it was slick with oil, however this could also be from the oil on the bolt spreading.
  15. I don't know just yet, I was only told improvements were made, but I'll add photos when the new one arrives!
  16. Unfortunately I don't have experience with a 9.5" barrel but one thing I can tell you, and I'm sure you've seen others mention this, is that you'll have to do some testing with your spring selection and buffer set up in order to tune the whole rifle to your liking while keeping it reliable. Luckily buffer springs aren't that expensive. Blitzkrieg has descriptions with each buffer spring they offer on their website and give barrel lengths that pair well - as mentioned above, the 308 carbine spring is recommended for 7-16" barrels so should be a safe start. I'd say start with the JP 308 carbine or Sprinco Orange spring with the HD setup and weight and go from there.
  17. @Orbit definitely go with the HD setup and spacer as @Bwillis said. I run the 5015HD, 2.6oz weight, and a 308 JP rifle spring with 143pf 125gr loads (A8 verified PF) through a 16” barrel. Short stroke setup. If you email blitzkrieg, Brian will tell you everything you need for the setup of your gun, sometimes buffer spring selection takes some trial and error but he’ll get you on the right patch. I thought it was funny this post surfaced again this weekend on my notifications; I was shooting Area 8 EGW Championship in PA Friday and my 5015HD actually failed on my second stage but still ran great. Mid stage I noticed I could suddenly hear my buffer spring again yet my rifle was running fine and when I unbagged at the berm on the third stage I heard a “thunk” as I titled my rifle upward...I started bouncing it and could hear the buffer jostling around in the tube but guess who was up next to shoot? Me! I ran the stage without the gun hiccuping once. The cap of the piston that retains the buffer spring and separated from the rest of the assembly yet the gun still ran with what essentially became a 3.5 oz buffer! I immediately emailed Blitzkrieg and they said they have updated the 5015HD recently to make improvements and would send a new one to me ASAP. Thankfully I still had my 5007 (standard) buffer in the toolbox in my car from when I first started fiddling with my PCC and I threw that in my gun and finished the match.
  18. Mark at L&M told me: "Something to note. I received a slide form a customer that tried to mount his ROMEO on yet another of the bazillion variations of P320 slides that SIG has out and his had M4x0.7 holes that are specific to the DP Pro. Neither the ROMEO or the RMR will take a M4 screw through their clearance holes and I had to ream out the holes for them to clear." It sounds like somebody sent an M17 slide and wanted to put a Romeo 1on but as you experienced, the holes need to be bored out for the M4 bolt. Like @George16 said, I wouldn't say you ruined the Romeo 1. As we say at work with all these British cars - some "fettling" is required time to time - and that's just what you did! If it works, it works!
  19. Also another random question. For those of you having buildup on your optic using your legion, what powder are you guys using? I talked to a major Sig shooter this weekend and he's been running N320 and said he has zero problems with the glass getting smoked from the LCI. I'm just curious if it's all load related - extra smokey, extra grimy lens
  20. After having an R1 on my X5 for months and have a DDP on my G34MOS and switching to the DPP, I feel like the DPP is the way to go with the clarity and window size. The dot is more crisp as well IMO. From what I've seen online, you need 6-48UNS-3A screws for the original R1 threads in the older slide, however, I'm guessing if the Legion is updated for DPP so it's now M4 x.7 x15.8mm? You could probably find a better fit screw in some of those master gunsmith scope mounting screw kits from Pachmayr. I wish I knew where L&M got the hardware he provides when doing the DPP cut on previous X5 because then it would fit through the R1 and allow mounting to the Legion slide; but again I think you made a good choice just going DPP and saving a headache of hunting down the right hardware.
  21. Thanks for the correction. I knew it was one of the Vortex it matched up but forgot which. I saw another post on here that an image/chart from EGW that had great cross reference info.
  22. I think the RTS2 has the same footprint as Burris FF3 and Vortex.
  23. So why not just order an original X5 barrel for your legion and be done with it?
