    BAD 60° ambi safety

    80 locker

JP SCS 308 red buffer spring

    115gr RN @ ~136pf

I don’t have any time behind a blowback to compare with. It shoots very similar to my MPX’

Use my Brekke 10.5 and JP 14.5 to compare one weekend

  2. Thanks for all the info guys.

I ordered a takedown lever for my S2 from them and happy to report it came! haha, hadn't heard of them or seen them in part searched until only last week.

Didn't realize they had an ebay store too, good to know!

No idea if they are legit or not, but the prices are ridiculous. $179 for the ambi safety is nuts. I got one from Eric Graffuel in France in a week for $85 after exchange rate.

I placed an order and it says it shipped so we'll see.

I've noticed lots of ambi safeties are kinda crazy all over for pricing but from EG that's a solid deal

  4. Hi all,

I found a website that sells a bunch of Eemann and other CZ parts called Reservo Arms and I was curious if anybody here has done business with them?

They seem fairly new so I'm wary since we have Shooter's Connections, BSPS, Dot 40, CGW, etc.

What's the purpose of the rear spacer at the bottom of the buffer tube? If the difference between an A5 and carbine tube is 0.75", what are you going for?
I understand putting a spacer weight in front of the buffer to add weight to the system, just trying to learn the other side.

    Thanks!

If you’re running a 5020SS or the TTI 5023 in an A5 tube you can add a spacer to shortstroke the gun more but too much will cause trigger reset or even cycling issues.

If you’re running a 5015 or 5007 with the spacer weight in an A5 tube you can drop a fat spacer (like the JP A5 one) to essentially get the same preload as a carbine tube.

Extra spacers behind the spring at the end of the buffer tube really just affect spring preload and the length of stroke for cycling.

yeah def let us know. i want to try one in my AR-V. they wont ship until the 18th.

For starters, I tried some Strike Industries flatwire 308 springs in my PCC and they're alright, not too loud, perform about the same as the Sprinco Orange. I shot a great match with them last weekend but I honestly was probably just finally having a good day. Today I swapped the flat wires back out the Sprinco Orange and liked the Sprinco more. It's also easier to pay attention to the feel of something in a controlled environment at the range vs running a stage on the clock.

So I got around to trying out the new Taccom DBRS in my 10.5" Brekke and truth be told it's more frustrating that anything for me right now. It doesn't work with JP bolts, you cannot rack the bolt back at all, the retainer doesn't fit inside the bolt. Fortunately it first into my ICRW Mohawk 3.0 so I was able to try it with that once the weight was removed of course. If you have TriggerTech trigger, you're going to have a hell of time getting the DBRS out of the buffer tube, I actually had to pull the trigger pins to let it drop an extra millimeter or 2 for the buffer to clear the hammer and remove it - if you plan on trying this system ABSOLUTELY remove your buffer detent. Even with a small pick pushing the detent down it's a PITA to move from the buffer tube. I'm also using a JP A5 spacer in my A5 tube to make the DBRS fit properly - a must if you plan on trying this in an A5 tube.

I first tried the buffer as it was right out of the package from Taccom and it hits hard and has surprising recoil in my build. With my barrel and load setup it hit a lot harder than I expected and dot movement was all over the place. I emailed Taccom and they told me to remove 2 of the spacers and maybe 1 magnet as a starting point. I didn't have a wrench with me to hold the main shaft to loosen the retaining bolt so I had do it at home and wait a week or so to get to the range again.

I tried it again today but I'm still not blown away by it. I brought the right tools today and ended up cutting off 10 coils and removing another magnet but I forgot the spacers at home so I couldn't try it with the preload spacers. With 10 coils removed, 2 magnets, and no spacers, the dot movement was better and my shot placement seemed good but the buffer still hits hard - and yes I've seen the argument "you're a grown man shooting a rifle, deal with the recoil impulse". I'm trying to remind myself that I'm coming from a Kynshot 5020SS so the response from the a hydraulic buffer vs a multiple spring buffer is going to be completely different and clearly has significantly different dampening qualities.

Essentially I need to carve out more time (and ammo) to continue tuning the system because it's so different from anything else I've ran. Given the dozens of possible setups for the DBRS, there's no real one and done recommendation to start at. You really just need to keep removing things until you get what you're after, it's a lot of a trial and error and patience!

looks like taccom just released the updated dbrs

I can't leave anything alone and always wanna try something different so I got one of the way to try out with my 10.5" brekke and 130pf 115gr load.

I'll be the guinea pig and see how it goes!

Curious about those those Tubbs flat wires with the kynshot (blitzkrieg) as well - currently running the 5020SS in an A5 tube.

now how does taran's kit fit into this equation.

With all the kynshot buffers, what works best with the 10/10.5" length barrel and 6" comp. I want to change up from my taccom buffer in my ar-v.

The TTI buffer is essentially a 5020SS and I've had both TTI shooters AND Kynshot themselves tell me to just stick with the 5020SS rather than switching over because they're practically the same things. Especially if you're loading your own ammo.

I'm curious about how Sport Pistol feels up against Titegroup in the Maxamundi setup - I'm running a 10.5" version with all the same mentioned above (5020SS, sprinco orange - although I may have JP 308 carbine right now - A5 tube, etc). I've also fiddled with putting just the 5015HD back into my 10.5" Brekke with the same spring in the A5 tube WITHOUT the weight and I feel like the gun stays a but flatter and a dash softer but also cycles are bit slower.

I think the best way to figure out your ideal setup is maybe catch some slow-mo video of each buffer setup and record single shots and double taps while also seeing how your hits on target are. Of course this being a very controlled test could, you could have very different results running a stage but hopefully nothing too crazy.

same. You using the double plates or jhp?

I’ve been using the version 1 or version 2 plated.

since I use titegroup there is still buildup on the comp after a bunch of matches but I get through way more rounds before cleaning than I did with blues

None of the 'Pros' I know use a two stage. With how fast splits are, there isn't much of a reason to need one. But at the same time I don't see why you couldn't use one if that's what floats your boat.

Justine Williams uses an AR Gold 308 trigger which is 2 stages last I talked to her. Max Leograndis used to use them as well but I think runs ECLs now.

you say that like brekke was the first......they weren't

I look at it this way.....Colt designed the first PCC 16' barrel......then everyone else must have copied them......nah

TACCOM came out with the first ULW barrel.....and everyone else that has one now.....copied that design......nah

The 10" or 13" barrels with long brakes.....yup....TACCOM did that too.......anyone that does it now.....copied them??.....nah

TACCOM also came out with the ramped barrel design.....literally gave it to another barrel manufacturer.....of course we do something totally different now along with the superfeed option.....any one copy that yet?......nope, and when they do.....did they really copy it?......nah

What I am getting at is each of these companies......do their own thing....they see something that works.....and say, hey....lets put our own little twist on it.....might be good, might be bad.....but it's not a rip off by any means......I actually invite it!! As it is only going to bring about innovation and better feeding, better controlled rifles from other manufacturers.....not just one or two.

Oh I know they weren't the first to do it! You had your 10/16 and 13/16 well before.

Competition is healthy and leads to innovation! Let everyone keep feeding off each other and coming up with interesting new things!

  12. I'm gonna preface this with two things: I'm the absolute worst (I'll explain) and this is kinda of a loaded question.

So I say I'm the worst because I can't leave anything along no matter how well it runs. I've run and tried many configurations on both my AR9s and I'll explain in a second.

I say this is a loaded question primarily because your barrel length and power factor will affect how your gun feels with each set.

I have two PCCs that I run, one is a 10.5" with brekke compXtension (16"oal) and the other was a 16" JP barrel with a venom defense comp but I got it chopped and had Brekke install his Euro Comp so it's basically a 13" barrel now.

The 10.5" barrel I was running with the 5020SS and a 308 carbine spring with 146pf ammo, a bit hot but the gun ran flat and was quick. Max Leograndis designed this upper with Brekke and Max recommended 130pf ammo so I dropped my load down and it softened up the gun but I felt like it was bit slower (like I'll ever be able to outrun it) so currently I have 130pf 115gr with a Sprinco Red extra power AR15 spring and while I can hear the spring more, I feel like the dot barely moves compared to my initial set up. Also, I don't have the bolt weight installed.

Keep in mind, If you run the 5020SS buffer, you need an A5 tube because of the length of it for reliable trigger reset otherwise you need a modified bolt. I

My original 16" setup I ran the blitzkrieg 5015HD with a 308 carbine spring and the 2.6oz weight and the gun was a sewing machine - but again I decided to change it because I'm the worst and currently with the 130pf ammo its sluggish so I pulled the weight and it's better.

If you decide to go the Kynshot/Blitzkrieg route I highly recommend starting with a either the 5015HD + 2.6oz weight and a 308 carbine spring OR the 5020ss and a 308 carbine spring (in an A5 buffer) and also pick up some extra buffer springs (308 rifle, 223 extra power, etc) and maybe even some spacers and hit the range to tune it to your liking.

I've also heard good things about the Scheel roller delay system from a few friends that have used it and have been considering it for a third build or replacement on one lower - because again, I can't leave anything alone. You think as a automotive technician I'd follow the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mantra...

  13. Not to steal any of Taccoms thunder but I have a full Brekke barrel/handguard combo and he does use the shooting innovations ramped pcc barrels. I haven’t had any feed issues. It’s super accurate and any issues I’ve had were because magazines.

I’ve also installed the taccom Glock lower feed ramp in my backup pcc and ever since I did the gun has never jammed or double fed.
