Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Well, for comparison, here’s the spare striker I ordered and the unmarked one from the gun. The gun now feels the same as my other M2.0s with Apex DCAEK.
  2. Well, I learned a few things in the process of getting a consistent trigger across all of my M&Ps. First, Apex only recommends using the Heavy Duty purple sear spring with the M2.0 DCAEK. They don’t recommend using lighter weight sear springs and clearly stated that spring chart is only for the FSS kit. The explanation given to me was the sear design for the DCAEK is only meant to work with the heavy duty spring. So, I’m not able to reduce trigger weight with a lighter sear spring. They also refused to sell me the other sear springs. Second, Smith&Wesson is still using the unmarked striker for some LE guns and I apparently have one. They would not replace the striker with a “10•” one and said the only way to reduce the trigger weight was to send it to their Performance Center to make modifications. I ended up ordering spare M2.0 striker assemblies from Midwest Gunworks and expect that should make all three of my M&Ps triggers feel pretty much the same.
  3. I’ve got three M&P 2.0 pistols with the same Apex trigger kits in them and I finally figured out why one of them has a different pull than the rest. Apparently, Smith&Wesson changed strikers to reduce the break weight. Two of my strikers have a stamping on the side that looks something like “10•”. It’s right next to where the sear catches the striker. Does anyone know when this change occurred or do all 2.0 have this striker? It feels like it reduces the break by almost a pound. The Apex trigger chart doesn’t seem to apply with this striker.
  4. Beretta EU webstore actually lists the carrier for sale but they won't ship to the US, so I just needed to find someone to mail it over. https://estore.beretta.com/en-eu/elevator-long-for-1301-comp-pro-12g/
  5. I recently bought myself a Gen 2 1301 Comp for Father's Day and was able to install the lifter off a Comp Pro. It swapped right in and seems to function as intended. I wasn't sure about the Kick-off "Plus" in the Pro and decided to go with the regular Comp. The specs show the Pro weights a pound more than the Comp. Does anyone know the shortest length of pull on the Comp Pro? Just wondering if the Kick-off stock has a longer LOP or is just as short as the tactical stock on the Comp. Also, the stock rubber recoil pad is leaving my shoulder a bit bruised. Is the Beretta MicroCore pad that the Pro comes with a worthwhile investment? By the way, message me if anyone wants a new take-off welded lifter from a Gen 2 1301.
  6. With the Sprinco reduced TRS, be mindful of finger placement to fully depress the trigger safety blade before moving the trigger. If you don't, the trigger will move rearward and jam up the safety blade. Maybe some people have better trigger finger placement than I do, but I only went with the reduced firing pin block spring to smooth out the trigger pull and left the trigger return spring stock.
