  1. Covering or offsetting the cost of volunteer ROs isn’t unreasonable.  Hotel rooms, fuel, food, plane tickets etc have increased dramatically since Covid. Everything is more expensive.

Asking a volunteer to essentially pay for volunteering is a good way to get no volunteers.

It's a horrible idea.  Quite a bit of factory ammo is already iffy PF-wise.  Increasing minor will make an already not-great ammo situation a lot worse.

Let me clarify. What I was getting at was the idea of a major pf using 9mm. .40 major isn’t gonna happen in LO, no matter how much the die hards want it.

My carry ammo (Hornady Critical Defense) advertises 1135 fps, which is 130.5 PF.  I haven't choreographed it, but from my experience, advertised velocity is often optimistic.  My LO ammo is 132 PF.

OMG only 130PF??  How do you expect to defend yourself with piddly 130pf ammo?? What would Jeff cooper say about this??

*this is extreme sarcasm* for those that won’t get it.

The whole point of having major power factor relates back to defensive rounds.  People here seem to think that because nobody carries 40s or 45s any more, we should move everything to minor pf.  In reality, most defensive 9mm rounds are well above 125 pf and many are actually closer to 165 than 125.  Also, part of the game was learning how to manage recoil, which is a non-issue with minor pf.  At least for anyone with a moderate amount of training and experience.  If people want to do away with that, whatever.  But, it's kinda like Ironman saying we're not going to have a swim segment because some people don't like it.

Higher power factor 9mm isn’t a terrible idea, but really it opens a totally different can of worms.

You say that, but one of my coworkers/shooting buddies shoots factory 115s (can't remember the brand) and he just barely made PF and it's very blasty/hot.  It's county bought ammo, so probably Federal.

American eagle 115 barely makes 125pf in a p320. Blazer brass 124gr isn’t much better, maybe 128pf.  125pf isn’t that far off from popular off the shelf  ammo from major manufacturers.

Well, I would say the same for your suggestion that the organization do away with one of the three pillars of the sport, just because some people don't like it.

I don’t really care one way or the other about that. If LO was major/minor, I’d shoot major without a 2nd thought.

However, the reality of the situation is this. 99% of optics ready 2011s are 9mm. There is a huge demand to shoot these guns and LO gives them a place to play within USPSA.

That's an interesting thought about them not running for reelection. If they're not running because they don't think they could win what's the point of trying to do what they're doing now? I don't believe what they're doing now is helping the organization in any way. Just wonder what the end goals are

A2 isn't running, A6 didn't run and A1 resigned (but now he's back?) those are the 3 main problem board members IMO. The others just go along with them.

It's far beyond doing what's right at this point. I believe all they care about is protecting their fragile egos, irregardless of what is best for the membership. By the time this is over, the membership will be so fractured that uspsa might not even exist anymore, and that would be a tragedy.

  8. They get bolder and bolder with each removal. It started with the bannings and continues with the removal of duly elected board members. Each removal is more ludicrous than the one before. They have no regard for the membership who voted these people into office.

There is literally no consequences to their actions, none of them plan on running for reelection because they know they wouldn't win. What else can be done to them? nothing.

I have read through a lot concerning these magazines.  Most of the manufacturers say 141.25 extensions.  That is worrisome because it is an exact measurement.  Are the gray guns the only ones that fit without sanding ect?

I’ve found that 90% of the time there are no issues, no matter which basepads.

I’ve used TT, GG, Henning and springer extensions. I’ve also used about 45-50 different sig magazines with various extensions. I’ve only ever had to modify 4 tubes. The rest fit with no issues.

I have sent back 3 Romeo xl dots for warranty within a 4 month period. Back in 2022 when I got my limcats I had both equipped with 6 moa Romeo 3xl dots.  After 1 kept shifting on windage another on elevation and one the buttons just stopped working all together I sold all 3 and got the FTP alpha dots for my open guns and haven’t looked back since.  I’ve had no issues with the FTP dots in almost 2 years.

Both the windage and the button problem are fixed, if you have a newer optic. If not you can send it in for warranty and get a new optic, without the old problems.

FTP is a good optic, made in the exact same factory, with a lot of the same parts. It’s also nearly half the price. The warranty experience is much different, it’s involved and takes awhile.

I’ve used both, and they both have their pluses and minuses. Depending on which features are important to you, you really can’t go wrong with either. If you do have a problem though, I’d rather deal with Sig. but you’re paying a premium for that.

Hopefully they will make a .356" version for plated bullets to.

All the M-dies and also the dillon swage hold down die are made for. 355" bullet diameter. The brass springback is so much that the plated bullets fall of the case.

Since he’s using a Berrys bullet in the demo video. I’d say that it’s probably good to go with plated bullets….

Ive used a M-die for pretty much every type of bullet. Once it’s set correctly I’ve never had any issue with bullets falling off, even at high speed. 🤷‍♂️

I am using TTI pads and had the same problem.  I read somewhere on this forum to lightly round off the top rear area of the mag.  I LIGHTLY hit it with a Dremel and they fit.  I'm a coward so I tried one mag only, it fit the gauge, ran some rounds through it and was satisfied.  They all fit now.

Some what related note... A friend was working a chrono stage at a level 2.  They bumped two people to open because the mags didn't fit the gauge.  Both shot 320's.

Most people “wrongly” assume that the oem sig mags will pass the gauge. And I assume that they were intended to, but due to sig sourcing them from multiple manufacturers, there is some variance.

I too was reluctant to modify my magazines, as such i was referred to the Grayguns base pads which work very nicely and meet specifications...you might want to give them a call.

The problem is with the mag tubes, not the extensions.

  14. Henning recommends filing the top rear lip if you have to fit his basepads. I’ve always used this method, with no issue. But really, you could also remove material from the base pad itself if you wanted to. Cosmetically this wouldn’t be ideal.

Some people have bent the rails that the basepad slides onto. This also works, but could slightly effect mag function when fully loaded. I’ve never tried this method.
