  1. Ive done this before where i grab the wrong mags for the gun im shooting that day. It ruins the whole day of shooting.
  2. I had the same problem for a while. I then started to look for the small amount of light coming through the cardboard. Its the only way i can tell where ive hit. I wish we shot the white side of the cardborad. Its so easy to see those hits.
  3. practise practise practise. I started getting my reloads down to around a second or less when i started dryfiring practising everynight and threw in lots of reloads. i also use mags that have dummy rounds in them since i dont ever drop a mag that is actually empty.
  4. That sounds really annoying. Is there anyway you could squad with a different group? the guys i shoot with all try to better each other. Ive never been in a squad where someone is trying to bring a member of the group down. That wouldnt go over very well in a club.
  5. ive been asked multiple times to show clear and re open the slide to make sure nothing is in the chamber. At that point i hammer down and holster again. Its better to follow the RO on every command that try and get smart.
  6. keep both eyes open and focuso on your target. After a while everuthing will start to focus without thinking about it. Its the beauty of a red dot sight.
  7. the average draw is anywhere between a second and a second in a half. A GM shooter usually can get the first shot off in less than a second.
  8. go through the stage step by step and know where you're to do all your reloads and shooting.
  9. I got into USPSA and tried to get my mom to come join me. She carries her gun everywhere she goes but literally never practices. Ill put it this way, if someone did start a shooting around her, id rather be closer to the shooter than to her. I took her along with me to a match and she seemed like she really enojyed it. Her excuse to never want to do it herself was, "the ammo would just cost to much to shoot like that."
  10. I shoot both CO and open. M&P 9L with RMR in CO and CK hardcore 38SC in open. The open gun recoils flat and soft compared to my CO gun. So not only can i shoot faster but also more accurately.
  11. Thats the exact same set up I have in CO right now except im running the trijicon RMR. I just bought an open gun so ive been focusing on that but i still shoot my CO set up in steel challenge.
  12. Id take atleast 250 rounds just to be on the safe side. I originally started off with USPSA and now shoot both IDPA and USPSA. The more shooting you do the better you will get. I also like the differnent atmospheres that IDPA and USPSA have.
  13. Our local matches are anywhere from 8 to 12 people per squad. I couldnt imagine shooting a 20 person squad. It already goes slow enough.
  14. i moved from limited to CO and absolutely loved it. I then shortly there after moved to open.
  15. I would go with an akai if money is not a factor!
  16. I have one in my glock and it works great@
  17. I really like the DEM gunfighter trigger much better than the ZEV from personal experience. If you have to replace the ZEV again check out the DEM.
  18. I have a pt evo on my ck hardcore and there was almost no fitting required. It was amazing. Also, it comes with its matching beaver tail and that piece is pretty much a drop in part. Can’t ask for anything better.
  19. They were having all kinds of problems with the rts2 but most of them have been worked out by now according to the factory. I’m sure bad ones still come around though.
  20. .40 in an open gun is a huge disadvantage. Less mag capacity and usually more recoil. No thanks I’ll pass!
  21. I have a friend who has a Matt McLearn open pistol and he loves it but that comp looks obnoxiously big.
  22. Getting DQ is a great way to have to think about your mistakes and how to fix them. If you get a warning sometimes you can overlook the seriousness of your mistake.
  23. I do the same thing. And as soon as the classifier is finished I beat myself up for knowing I could’ve done much better if I would’ve just slowed down a tiny bit.
  24. I was at the double tap championship in Wichita and saw a guy get 19 procedurals in one stage. Every shot got him one. He walked out of there with a cherry red face. Lol embarrassment.
  25. It’s happens to the best of us. I had an embarrassing situation the other day at a tactical handgun class where the RO said make ready and then got distracted talking to a student. I went back to “dry firing” but in reality I fired a shot. Luckily it was right through the alpha zone. Getting embarrassed on the range is a great way to learn from our mistakes.
